Sonic Racing Finally Makes it to Japan, While Mega Man, Fire Emblem Round Out Digital Releases

Some things are better late than never.

It’s another soft lineup of releases on the eShop in Japan this week, however, there are still some quality titles to help round things out. One of the most curious games on the list comes in the form of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Wii U, a game that saw its initial release in November 2012 in western territories. With Mario Kart 8 on the horizon, perhaps getting this game out beforehand was the goal even though it is positioned so closely to Nintendo’s racer. We’ll see if the price does it any favors!

On the Virtual Console front, the Wii U has a solid variety of titles. Mega Man 6 arrives this week on Wii U alongside the adventure staring anthropomorphic fruit and vegetables, Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom. The Game Boy Advance is also making a return this week with the release of the 2003 Fire Emblem, the seventh entry in the series in Japan and the first to be available in the West. For a complete look at all of the titles released this week in Japan, check out the round-up below!

I suppose this is why Mario Kart 8 doesn't have 5 player multiplayer, the game simpily was not out in japan so the developers couldn't of known about it or played it.  :Q ::) :cool;

Seriously why the hell did it take it so long? I can't imagine that much of the game had text

It's their competition, business partner, and Wii U supporter.  Why did Nintendo not know about this.  Do you think that maybe Nintendo just doesn't know how to make 5-players work?  Or will a 5th player be too much for the game to run smoothly?

If it's 60 fps for 1-2 players and 30 fps for 3-4 players, what will having a 5th player do?

I will be all over Rekka No Ken when it comes out in the US. It will be like 2003 all over again. (has it really been that long?!)

There is no reason that I can think of as to why Sonic got delayed this long here. It's not like there was a deluge of software keeping it from making a splash between late 2012 to now. Oh well. Sega seems to enjoy making silly mistakes.

Interesting note - this is the first week in a LONG time that there haven't been any VC games on the 3DS here. Not that it makes any difference. There are like a billion of them on the eShop anyway so I'm not complaining!

There, that looks much better, that's what I was going for...

I picked up Sonic recently for Wii U, despite already owning the PS3 version. I guess I just like that game, regardless of its glaring flaws.

@pokepal - lol!

You know, I kinda want Sonic, but the $75 price tag is steering me away.
