There are quite a few heavy hitters that came out on the eShop today. This week of course marks the release of the heavily discounted Super Metroid worldwide, for crying out loud! Video Content

We have couple of noteworthy videos today. All of the Virtual Console titles that were released today on both platforms have gameplay videos included to give gamers a good idea of what they’re getting into. With classic titles like Super Metroid, Mappy, and Pac-Man, you probably already know whether or not those are games that you can enjoy. Bases Loaded, though, is a bit of different story. For those that aren’t familiar with the game, it’s pretty simple - it’s an old school, 2D baseball game. One of the main differentiating points between this game and other baseball games of the era is the presentation. While most baseball games from the late 80s or early 90s have the in-game camera behind home plate, Bases Loaded goes for a more realistic approach by putting the camera behind the pitcher. It’s definitely a little bit difficult to get used to if you’re an ace at other 2D baseball games (I kind of am!), but it’s unique and really sets the game apart. For the time, it was probably about as realistic as you could get on the Famicom. For 500 yen ($5), and being one of the few baseball games on the 3DS, I’m taking the plunge!

The Wii U version of Biohazard: Revelations is also being heavily promoted this week, with a few new videos focusing on characters from the game and, of course, the demo. There is also a new sale this week with a focus on the recently released Mappy and Pac-Man on Virtual Console. You can check out details of that sale in our news story.
