Pizzahut.com is broken. I'm gonna report that to the 800 number.
you have to select delivery if you want to order a pizza online otherwise it deletes your order and/or won't let you proceed any further until you select delivery.
it is very annoying and I want to order some damn pizza for $10. And whats with Any Pizza Any Toppings Any Size for only $10 (stuff crust is additional, not double topping on specialty and only 3 topping on custom orders) (http://i46.tinypic.com/2s1wsbs.jpg) (http://i47.tinypic.com/iylnnr.jpg) what kinda double speak false advertising is that? I'm mad. I've been trying to order a pizza online for close to an hour. Between $10 online deals on pizza hut.com not working and internet codes at Domino's pizza online not working in my favor, I'm very irritated right now.
Why can I only do a delivery order online? Are there Pizza Hut drivers sitting around with nothing to do so the website is forcing me to utilize them? Is it really necessary to cancel out my order if I choose to change the option from delivery to pick-up?
How can I have any toppings, any crust, any size and any pizza for only $10 if I get charged extra for double toppings, more than 3 topping when not a "pre-arranged" specialty and stuffed crust?
Is extra cheese and double topping not "any toppings"?
Is more than 3 topping on a custom order something different from the upto 6 or so topping on the Super Supreme Specialty? Why can't I have any toppings, or atleast the same amount of toppings, for the advertised $10?
Why does Stuffed Crust cost more? It clearly says "Any Crust" in the advertisement. Is Stuffed Crust not a crust and therefore not included for my $10?
And Any Pizza for $10. If I want a mountain of beef and bacon on my pizza then I think that fits in the "Any Pizza" category and should only cost me $10 like advertised.
WTF is going on here and I'm personally holding you responsible (I need some answers) since I don't know anyone else that works at PizzHut.

I think they changed the rules to it, I ordered a pizza before with double everything, along with 3 or 4 toppings and it was $10.

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I looked at a local print ad for this deal and it looked like you had to buy something else with one of three coupons to get the $10 pizza. Since the deals were for the things I'd wager have the highest markup, like bread sticks, I figured that's how they made money on it. It was confusing enough that I changed my mind and did something else, anyway.

We did the same thing a couple of weeks ago and again just last week. Last week was when we realized the site was broken and you could only order if you did delivery. I figured it was because when I went in to pick up my pizza, back when the deal first started, the small waiting area infront of the store was jam packed with people.
But when my girl ordered online for delivery last week, because she had no choice, and then called in to change it to pick up, they got angry with her and said that she shouldn't do that.
Now the whole process is a hassle and I wanted my extra cheese and double toppings.

Well I was so frustrated with not getting what I got last time for $20 at Pizza Hut that I was already on the Domino's site and trying to use those online coupons from retailmenot.com, but I wasn't getting exactly what I wanted for under $20 like I was trying to.
In the end my girl just called it in and then went and picked it up.

Just make your own pizza.
It'll cost about 20 bucks to get the ingredients and take about an hour to prep and cook, but it's worth it. I suggest making it Chicago style with the sauce on top. It's also not a bad idea to buy some string cheese and roll them up on the edges for some real stuffed crust pizza.
And if you make it in a large pan, a slice or two will fill you up, leaving more pizza to be had later.
I'm actually about to do this tonight.

I made my own pizza before. I might have even posted the pics on here after I did. It was a hassle and more expensive than I initially planned.
The really hard part was kneading the dough, and I would do it again, but it was easier to get 2 pizzas in 20 minutes for the same $20 I would have spent getting the ingredients to make my own.

I've never heard of that particular chain, but, from the looks of that site, there are a couple around here that are like it. It doesn't seem to have much of a selection; there are only 9 flavors and none of them that varied or interesting. There's a small chain around here called Quaker Steak & Lube that has about twice as many flavors, but if you really want selection there's a bar called Chipper's that has some of the best wings in town with 61 flavors and about 55 cents a wing every day, which is about as good of a regular price as you'll find.

Again...I always opt to make my own wings. You can get 20 full wings (drumstick and wing) fresh for 8 bucks or cheaper at any grocer. Grill them on low or bake them at 375 for about 40 minutes flipping once and adding more sauce (putting honey on first to make the sauce stick)...mmmm perfect.

Post by: NWR_insanolord on January 26, 2010, 11:31:57 PM
I like to make my own wings, too, but it takes too much time to do very often. I make my own special wing sauce (my dad's recipe) that you have to cook for three hours on low heat before it's ready, on top of the time it takes to cook the wings. They're amazing, better than any other wings by far, but require too much time to do more than once every couple months.

LOL. I tell them to fix it all the time. No body listens to me but the grumpy old drivers. Apparently I'm a champion of their cause because I actually think drivers should be required to wear car toppers.
I have no idea why the online bars carry out. What time are you ordering for? I think most stores lock up carryout between 10 and 12 at night depending on location. I just went onto the website and it lets me order Carry Out so I have no idea what's wrong for you all.
When the deal first launched they failed to update the system to charge for all of those 'catches' outside of stuffed crust so I could tell people the deal and confidently inform them that the only catch was $1 more for stuffed crust from the get go. Now if I want to properly inform a customer I feel like the guy that talks really fast at the end of radio ads for contests and banks explaining all the legal limbo. Back then people were getting pizzas with double everything for only $10. It was crazy. Then upper management panicked because they were loosing 'thousands' supposedly so there was a system update and everyone was quickly informed of the change. They said it was 'supposed to always be charged for the extra stuff'.
Pizza Hut's buffalo wings used to come in sets of 12 several years ago. Now it's sets of 10. Bummer for us buffalo wing fans :/
But those are overpriced as well. But I loooove Dominoes Cheesey Bread. I'll walk in there and order some in my Pizza Hut uniform. A couple of times while we were working we ordered Dominoes and had them deliver to our store. It's pretty funny. Though one of the other store managers I know said that was 'embarrassing' to do. We think it's funny.
Pizza Hut pizza has too many calories! Fix it, Stratos! NOW!
Ask for a "Fit 'n Delicious" pizza. It's a thin crust pizza with eazy cheese, extra sauce and I think ham and green peppers. No one ever orders it so I can't remember for sure what else is on it but it supposedly has less calories. The funny thing it that King County, Washington passed a law requiring calorie counts to be posted on order boards and ours shows the total for an entire pizza. I love watching peoples eyes bulge as they read the board...and then order something like a meat lovers or super supreme that is the highest calorie specialty pizza on our menu.
@BnM They shouldn't get mad at you for changing from delivery to carryout. I've worked for the franchise before that you probably have (I'm guessing NPC runs your store, they are the largest franchisee of Pizza Hut with stores all over the globe and most of the USA). It's not that hard to change the order and when I have a lot of deliveries and a high delivery time I encourage customers to come pick it up. Faster for them and they get a fresher pizza. It just takes a few key strokes to change. Though beware, if you were paying by card it cancels the card charge and you have to recharge the card when you get to the store. That's something we can't control because the credit card company controls all of that. They hold people's canceled orders for 3-5 business days and it is really quite frustrating. Like I'll place an order and charge their card, but they then decide they don't want to order anymore but the charge stays on their card for that time. It's ridiculous and I think it is sleazy for the credit card companies to do that.
Best advise is to just call the store directly. I hope your area lets you call the store directly. In Portland they have a 'call center' that takes your order but I hated that. They aren't as friendly (or terribly bright half of the time) and every time I ordered from them I got a call back from the store saying they were out of stuff. Stupid. The one store I worked at down there was a disaster as well. To get around the call center issue I just saved the number that called me back if they were out of something or needed to confirm something like directions or apartment number and called that one to order. Most of the time I think they hated that though ;D
Plus if you call and ask for the online deal I can get you the same thing over the phone. My franchise has a different system than other ones so I don't know about down there, but our store ordering system allows you to enter in most of the online coupon codes. Plus we can sometimes score you better deals than what is offered online.

They charge you $3 down there? It only just went up to 2.50 here.
Attempting to deliver to you would fit within the franchise owners dream. Pretty much every pizza place charges for delivery and apparently 2.50 is the average for our competitors so our franchise decided to raise it. When I started forking for the company in 2002 it wasn't even a dollar for delivery. Times change.

LOL @ my own typo: "When I started 'forking' for the company"...
Maybe it's just franchises that charge delivery fees. I'll have to ask the old veteran drivers. They've been with the store since corporate owned it directly.
Corporate also gave paid vacation to drivers that worked full time so these two, since they were still with the company, got their perks carried over as well. There are even some nice retirement benefits they get as well that no one gets anymore. Corporate also paid better. Franchises suck :P:
I figured the deliver fee is the tip, but I can't verify at the moment that it is actually a $3 charge. But everything is more expensive in California.
No, the delivery charge is not given to the driver. Drivers do get a gas reimbursement, but that's not even close to what the charge is. It's a guaranteed profit margin for the suits.

Or to motivate employees to perform their jobs better. Ever been absolutely dumb-founded by a grocery store cashier who you didn't think could possible move any slower? Why are you surprised?? That clerk gets paid the same amount whether he or she rings up 50 customers or 100 customers during their shift. They have no incentive to perform their job better. What if every customer tipped that clerk $1 or $2? Now the cashier wants to help as many customers as possible. They move faster and you spend less time standing in a line with your thumb up your ass.

Which goes back to evil business men coming up with the 15% thing as an excuse to pay less. Many restaurants pay their servers below minimum wage and count tips towards making it equal minimum wage with the agreement that if the tips don't make it equal minimum wage they they foot the rest. It makes them pay out less which I think is ridiculous.
On deliveries, I think $2-3 is fair for most orders of average price and I like ShyGuy's weather tip. It's nice to get a little extra when you are getting soaked. $5 would be a perfect world but if they are only ordering some sticks or wings its understandable to receive less(which does happen, we have one guy who is too lazy to go to the store so he orders 2-liters from us for delivery and no pizza). One guy openly tells the drivers he tips based on how much sooner his order arrives from the promise time to encourage the drivers to get there sooner. Bigger orders typically warrant larger tips. My personal rule of thumb is if I receive more than $10 I'll share it with the make crew and others depending on who I thought contributed most to the order. Some drivers are greedy and will keep a $40 tip all to themselves unless forced to share.
Though if a driver is rude, I say don't tip them. They should be nice and friendly and helpful. I like to talk and joke with the customers and will try to make them laugh or talk to their kids if they are poking around the door too. I like to think of myself as the 'Friendly-Neighborhood-Delivery-Guy'. Some drivers are totally unhelpful to you and down even carry extras like parmesean and crushed peppers. I laugh to myself when those people complain about getting poor tips.

Has anyone tried the "new" Domino's Pizza? It's actually much better than it used to be, in fact it tastes a lot like Pizza Hut's hand-tossed pizza, but all chain places suck and the best place to get Pizza around here is Bizzaro's. The dude *orders* $1 million worth of cheese (Grande Mozzarella, basically the best stuff you can get in the US) a year, IIRC.

Which goes back to evil business men coming up with the 15% thing as an excuse to pay less. Many restaurants pay their servers below minimum wage and count tips towards making it equal minimum wage
Which goes back to my argument that you get better service this way. Would you rather your food cost 15% more and you didn't have to tip? There would be no incentive for servers to perform their jobs better. With tipping you get a say in your server's pay and they're motivated to do a better job.

You're allowed to tip them poorly--or not at all if the service doesn't warrant a tip.
Think of it at waitstaff evolution; the survival of the fittest. The good ones get good tips and continue waiting tables. The bad ones get bad tips and find new jobs.

I forget where I saw this, but there was someone that would put the tip on the table as soon as they sat down. As time went on, if the waiter was doing good the money would still be there, if they started slacking or messing up, money would start to disappear.
I always found that funny but psychologically fucked up.
Start with $5 on the table, ask for some water with a lemon on the rim, not in the glass and a straw also in the glass, paper still on the tip. Start timing the person on how long it takes them to return with your water in the specific way you ordered it. Deduct necessary amount of tip from table is everything isn't as you asked.
I would expect spit(or worse) somewhere in your food if you actually did that to a waiter.

Why should I pay someone to bring me drinks? I can get up and refill my own glass, thanks. Whilst I'm up, I might as well grab my food, if it's ready. In fact, I think I'll go back into the kitchen and prepare my own food.
You know what? I'm just going to stay home and cook my own dinner for a fraction of the cost. Why should I pay someone to do something I can easily do myself?

Hey Stratos, I figured out something else you need to fix. You have to get them to go back to the old way they made the Bigfoot pizzas. I loved those, but then they changed them a while back and made them a lot thicker and worse. That's a big reason I pretty much stopped going to Pizza Hut.

I have never worked for a location that still serves them. Last time I knew Pizza Hut made them was before I even worked for the company.
There was the Panourmous, but that was a glorified square pan pizza. I much preferred specialty pizzas like the Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken PZone, Twisted Cheesy Crust and the Gold Stuffed Crust pizzas. They need to bring some of them back.
The bigest LOL failure was the '4-for-all' that they were convinced would be huge and even contracted the rights to use the Muppet characters to advertise the pizza during the Superbowl one year. It was basically 4 square personal size pizzas and a lot of people had gotten the impression it was much larger than it really was. The pizza tanked and quickly dropped from the menu lineup.

Yeah, this was a long time ago; I haven't gone to Pizza Hut in a long time so I wasn't sure if they still even had them. I recently discovered, though, that a local pizza place right by my college has pizza that's pretty similar to the old Bigfoots, but in a regular circle shape. I've got to test whether it's as good cold as the old Bigfoots, which were almost better cold than hot.

Well, you tip someone for bringing you drink because you didn't have to stand in line at the crowded bar to go get it yourself. Waitresses get priority at the bar and their drinks get made first. Also, it allows you to do something else in the time it takes the waitress to bring you your drink, like use the bathroom, hit the dance floor, go have a smoke or continue that conversation with whoever you were talking to.
It's the same thing with food at a restaurant. You get to sit down and browse the menu(read the paper, read a book, make a phone call, etc etc.), they bring you drinks, refill your cups, keep your bread basket full and then take your order, make sure the chef got it right, and then bring it to you all w/o you having to lift a finger.
Some waiters are really good at their job and you would go back to a certain restaurant just to sit in their section, other waiters deserve to get dine and ditched for their shitty service, which includes messing up your order, since it's their job to get the cook to make it how you ordered it and get it to you while it's still sizzling hot.
Although there are certain exceptions, like one time when I went to a Denny's on the late night and the place was busy, but there was only on waitress on staff at the time (3am). She was running all over the place trying to do the best she could, but there was just too many people with too many orders. Her service kinda sucked, but I felt bad and tipped her decently anyway. She was covering something like 14-16 tables with around 2-6 people per table, and I think one table dine & ditched her since she took forever bringing them the check. Poor girl. her help didn't show up till 3:30am and it supposedly had been busy since just after 2am.

I feel bad for that gal. And at 3:30 it would be pretty hard to find someone to come in to help too.
I've actually found that working in food service has made me much more patient with all sorts of service related matter of my own. I'm not bothered if it takes a little time for the check to arrive or if someone is stuck on the phone dealing with a customer before helping me. But I also seem to have higher expectations of how these other service people behave and carry themselves or how clean their store is compared to how busy it looks. If the trash if overflowing at Wendy's and it's dead then yeah, I ding them for being lazy. But if the place is packed I'm not as bothered because I understand how it feels to be in the middle of a crazy rush.

Yeah if I see a waitress or waiter who is flooded with customers and they seem to be doing their best I tip them well. It is the ones where they aren't overloaded and have time to BS with people in the back while either your drink needs a refill or your food is getting cold that get no tip from me.

I don't understand tyhe american system for tipping people just because.
You get tipped because you EARN IT. I won't give you more money just because you grace me with your presence. If Nintendo could do that then they'd be the richest company on earth.
I follow your philosophy Plugabugz, there have been times where I gave no tip if the service was bad. I also don't understand the %15 thing, does it take more work to deliver your plate of crab legs and lobster compared to giving you a plate with a cheeseburger on it?
Exactly. When i was in NYC last week i left $20 tips for some places and $1 in others. The larger the tip the more i enjoyed the food and the person serving. It usually bears no relevance to 15%.
wait wait wait *continues waiting* you were in NYC last week and you didn't hit me up to discuss Dalton and have *continues waiting* session!? Cold man, ice cold.

Stratos, would be filing a formal complaint if the pizza wasn't almost free, but I just had THE WORST pizza from Pizza Hut I have ever had.
I wasn't there(at the Pizza Hut), but I'm sure this is what happened;
I try to order online, webiste resets after I unselect deliver forcing me to re-do the entire order. After I redo the entire order an try to place it, the website ask me to re-log in, because I was already logged in.... wipes the entire order again. Finally get the order put in again and hit submit.....10 minutes later after a screen that blames my internet connection for the hold up, the order fails to place. I try again. Why, because I didn't want to call it in. after 10 more minutes it fails again.
So I call my local Pizza Hut, I place an order for 2 $10 pizzas, 1 of them stuffed crust. the guys repeats it, put me on hold, yells at someone else in the back, comes back on the phone, I tell him my order again, he keeps interrupting me, I tell him stuffed crust, he barks part of my order to someone in the back, gets back on the phone and ask me about the order again I repeat the whole order, he ask if I want extra pineapple and ham on my Hawaiian and tells me it's free. Then repeats my entire order again and tells me how much it cost.
I wasn't there(at the Pizza Hut), but I'm sure this is what happened; They realized that after I placed my order they didn't actually have any ham or pineapple to make my pizza, but they were smart enough to realize that it was a $10 pizza and tried to get too smart for their own good. One of them called up Little Caesars and ordered a $5 Ham & Pineapple, picked it up, put it into a Pizza Hut box and then waited for me to come pick it up (actually my girl picked it up.) so they would make a $5 profit.
Problem was, when I got the pizza, not only did it not have extra ham & pineapple, but it didn't have stuffed crust and barely any cheese either.
Long story short, Pizza hut gave me a $15 credit instead of replacing their Little Caesars switch-a-roo with an actual Pizza Hut Pizza.
What do you have to say about that Stratos? Case to defend an independently licensed affiliate of your current employer?

LOL, no idea what happened there. Sounds more like general incompetency than anything. I tell my crew to not yell around and such while on the phone, I have them put the person on hold for a moment instead.
Though beware of the changes made in some areas regarding the special. It's 'up to 3 toppings or specialty' in my area and stuffed crust is now $2 more. Additional toppings are a buck more as well.
Honestly, our online system must be broken or something because people have issues with it all the time. I personally love ordering online at Dominos. It even has the little meter that shows it's path from make table to your door. Kinda cool if I'm on my couch an playing games I can look over to the computer screen and it will flash 'Oven' or 'On the Road' so I know when to start expecting it.

I love Dominoes Online system, especially with all the coupons they have. Pizza Huts online sucks donkey balls and someone needs to fix it.
The guy also put me on hold alot, that's why I kept repeating the order, but then he would also yell stuff to the back. When my girl went to get the pizza, she said some guy was in there for over 40 minutes and pissed waiting for his fixed pizzas since they messed up his original order.

What do you expect for eleven dollars? Products don't generally go down in price, they lower the price and lower the size of the item so you think you're getting a better deal when really you're still paying the same amount. Happens at the grocery store all the time.

But they keep telling me that it's the same size, but I know they are lying.
"It's the same size it's always been"
It's BS and they know it, why why not just level with me. I'm not an idiot. The problem is that even at regular price, which just recently became $8, it's still a small pizza, so why call it a medium. It didn't even fill the box, it must be embarrassing. A medium pizza is 12 inches at Pizza Hut. Always has been. Always will. Large is 14 inches. The are made in these pans that would cost way too much to change out every few years. I've worked there almost 10 years and the pan sizes have not changed. Prices have changed -a lot- but not the sizes. So it is true that they haven't shrunk. It just means that the people making the pizza suck and don't follow policy (at least that is my guess). Could be a problem on a number of levels. Is the night person prepping dough for the next day using the right kind? Is the opening person making sure dough procedures are followed? Is the cook competent or are they an idiot that made the wrong size? Did the person cutting put a medium in a large box? A lot of dumb things can ruin the final product.
Either they are selling you smalls or they aren't making their dough right. You have to let the dough rise properly before cooking it. There are a lot of things that can ruin dough. Letting it rise for too long will ruin it and exposing it to the wrong temperature at the wrong stage will as well. Storage is also key as air can dry it out. Dough can shrink as well. I've seen it happen before and people usually notice the difference. So I make sure the dough has risen enough and toss the bad ones cause I think it is better to lose a little on dough than have to make new pizzas with toppings and expensive cheese twice and lose more money and also potentially lose customers. They also get flatter once the dough gets old.
Pepperoni is counted out on pizzas so either the cook isn't counting or just isn't making it right. It's possible you got someone elses regular pepperoni pizza because the cut person or server wasn't careful. A pepperoni lovers is actually comprised of extra pepperoni and extra cheese and you layer it. Dough, sauce, cheese, pepperoni, lots more cheese, lots more pepperoni. The amount of pepperoni is the same from a thin to any other pizza crust of the same size with hand tossed, pan and stuffed crust. You should have over 80 slices of pepperoni on a large and over 50 on a medium. The numbers exactly might vary from franchise to franchise but I doubt it. I've worked in two different franchises and they were the same. Though I've found that certain franchises suck. I won't name them but one of the larger franchises (not the one I work for now) did not impress me at all when I worked there and when I was a customer at their restaurants.
The most reassuring thing from these stories is that it shows how much more awesome my store and area is than a lot of other places. And from reports I read and hear my area is one of the best in the region. We apparently carry half the state so they push us harder to cover their sorry tails profit wise. There's this one store near the university that sucks super bad. Odds are you will get your pizza late there. They've been worst of three franchises for over a month in the speed department. Sounds like BnM's store there! The president's comments towards them are getting comical in his daily update. Maybe I should ask to take that store when I become a manager...
I wanna know why BnM keeps ordering from PH when the experience is constantly worse than their pizza probably taste
Probably because they give him free pizza when he complains? And if the stores he goes to suck as bad as they sound they deserve to be out that badly on their food costs and discount allowances. Just means the manager doesn't get their bonuses.
Sorry if that was too technical/serious but you caught me right after getting off work. And it was inventory/payroll closing/end-of-week night. So I've got pizza on the brain a lot more than usual. Tomorrow is my 'Friday' and it can't come any faster.
Best advise I can give you is call the complaint line or call the store to get compensated for the piss poor product. Be polite but firm.
Pity you didn't live in my area because I'd give an NWR discount and I tend to pamper my late night usual customers anyways. If I have extra sides that are going to go to waste I like to give them out.

I'm a little excited that Pizza Hut possible has a deal that includes chicken wings, but then I'm met with this; (http://i56.tinypic.com/154jerr.jpg)
WTF is up with that? Can the advertising be a little more false and misleading. I demand free pizza and wings now.... think you can call that in for me?
Title: Re: Stratos I'm calling you and The Hut out!!!

LOL. 8 wings? We went through some weird portioning indecision last year. Went from 10/20 to 5/10/15 to 7/14/22 back to 10/20 with a 40 count party platter over the course of a year. They were trying to find the best balance of price vs profit vs what-the-customer-will-pay. I like the 10/20 because it seems simplest.
There is a coupon in my area for a 3 topping or specialty pizza + 10 wings for 15.99. There is another for 16.99 people are getting elsewhere. I just offer the 15.99 one as an in-store special to everyone. I seem to recall a few people with those 8-piece wing coupons. we just give them 10 since our system only rings them in in increments of 5 or 10.
Some regions are really odd with their portioning and marketing. Just badger one of the employees and see if they can upgrade your wings. Or mention my coupon. I'm sure it's online. Then you get more toppings.
Prices are going to go up on some of the sides in my area. Breadsticks are going from 3.09 to 4; Cheesesticks from 4.09 to 5; 2 liter from 2.50 to 3.00
Gonna be rather pricey :P We have this deal for bread + 2liter for $5, wondering if that is going to change too. No mention was made of it.
Though Dominos charges $5 for both breadsticks and cheesestiks in my area. Why are the bread as expensive as the cheese ones when cheese is so expensive? Probably because they think they can do it. I love their cheesy bread but they are robbing for breaksticks.
Title: Re: Stratos I'm calling you and The Hut out!!!

I took the deal online and got a 3rd topping out of it for free.
It was like $14 after tax for a Large 3 topping w/ 8 wings.
p.s. Charging $6.50 for 8 wings is highway robbery. That's $0.81 per wing. Who in their right mind is gonna pay that? Then they call in a deal for $.50 wing Wednesdays.... tha tshould be the everyday price. Wings Wed. should be like $.35 a wing. That is how you sell some wings. Chicken ain't that expensive.
p.p.s. 14 wings for $10 isn't much better and neither is 22 wings for $15 I would have never gotten the wings if I didn't just basically get them for $2.50 ($.31 per wing)

The funniest thing is the cheese bread from Papa John's that comes with a big tub of marinara, essentially making it a small cheese pizza once you add the sauce.

So I walk into work today and there on the fax machine is a copy of that 12.99 coupon. Ugh. I talked with the boss and she said it was fine to give them 10 instead. We pre-portion them into sets of 10 so its easier than taking 2 out of every pouch. Course, my boss is the one that tells everyone to over top their pizzas because it looks skimpy when you make it to spec. Mushrooms shrink in the oven so I always put a bit extra of those on.
I don't think it was ever 6.50 for eight. When they changed the counts around they also changed the prices. But the online is still pretty stupid as it seems to force people to get them in fives and charges for sauce (each order of wings gets up to two free with them when ordered in-store). I tell my crew to never sell a 5-piece unless someone only really wants just 5 because its such a rip off opposed to 10.

Hahaha. BnM, I got to ask. Why do you still go there? It seems like all Pizza Hut has ever done is piss you off.
If I were you, I'd buy a generic pizza from a grocery store and add toppings, cheese, and spices yourself. I guarantee it'll taste better and be cheaper. I understand it's easier to order it, but their best deals are carry out so you're still leaving the house.

It's good, it's quick and the price is reasonable most of the time. It's also very convenient as it's on the way to my mom's house or on the way home back from there.

Wings are a funny thing, they often seem really over priced. They're probably the least popular cut of chicken but it seems like you can buy breasts or thighs cheaper.
I've found I can make home-made barbecue wings that taste better than any of the fast food chain wings in my area.

Not to sound pretentious, but you just found that out? How do you make em'? Fry them, grill them, or bake them?

I bought a pack of wings at the Fred Meyer and took them home. I baked them, although the traditional way is to fry them without breading. Greased up a cookie sheet then rubbed seasoning on to the wings: common seasonings include a combination of: Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Garlic Salt, cayenne pepper, Jonny salt. (sometimes I give them a light dusting of flour) butt them into the oven at like 350-400 degreeds for about 40 min total. at about 20 minutes I turn them over and brush them with sauce. at about 30 minutes I turn them over again and brush the other side with sauce.
The chicken meat tastes fresher and juicier and the sauce isn't overpowering.

When I make wings I boil them and then finish them off under the broiler. I have an amazing homemade sauce that has to be cooked for three hours before use, but is so worth it. I'd post the recipe in the test kitchen thread, but it's not mine, and I've been sworn to secrecy.

I grill them usually. Marinate them the night before in oil, vinegar, and seasonings. Throw them on the grill on low. Flip them after 20 minutes and apply sauce. Turn up the heat to medium-low and wait another 10 minutes. Take them off and serve em' up with carrots, celery, and baked fries.
Frying them though, is easily the most tasty way to cook them; whether you batter them or not. I don't simply because I don't have the means to fry a bunch of wings at once.

Yeah, wings aren't supposed to be fried, people tend to make them that way, but even most of the time if you buy them frozen, they won't even include any frying instrucions...because that's now how their made. I've always just baked them (for ease), but I imagine a combination of boiling and broiling is actually a pretty good way to go.
My sincere apologies Stogi in advance, didn't read your post until after I posted mine...but still. You *can* fry them, but you have to do it for a long time, longer than anything really should be fried.

Your not suppose to fry a turkey either, but you *can* and it's the best way to cook one.

From what I've read, the first Buffalo wings in New York were fried.

Frying a turkey is different, because it's clearly the best way to cook one (unless you're actually a decent cook).

Stratos, I want my free P'zone but your stupid website won't let me log in.
I respond to an "exclusive coupon" in my email, and then I try to log in with that same email address and my email address isn't recognized. WTF.
I demand an extension of the deal so that this can be sorted out. and free p'zones for my next 3 purchases too.

I hate P'Zones.
Not really, but, apparently, you can only get the pre-defined P'Zones, you're not supposed to be able to get them with your choice of toppings. Depending on who's working, I can sometimes get them to mix it up a little though. :D

Goddammit Stratos. Pizza hut did it again!!!! only this time they pulled a Little Ceasars. I wasn't happy.
So I'm feeding my daughter some leftover pizza (she is 2 next month) and just before she finishes it, I look at her plate and see some sort of sticker or something.... she is locked into her tray chair (http://i.imgur.com/ZgS3skb.jpg) <-actual seat which was clean, eating off a brand new plate.
I pick it up and it's a baked plastic nutritional value sticker from some product stuck to the bottom of her pizza.... WTF!!!??? I go into panic mode, because I just ate a slice too, and I didn't notice anything on the bottom... I didn't actually check the bottom of the pizza though and I ate all of mine... so I run back to the box, and in the box is a small piece of the same sticker kinda under the paper. (I originally had 2 pizzas, and lifted the paper to combine the two into one box... it never touched my counter which was clean anyway, because I didn't cook.)
So I immediately call Pizza Hut to "yell" at somebody, and I get the owner on the phone, who tells me I must have baked the nutritional value sticker myself and stuck it to the bottom of the pizza, because they only use fresh ingredients and nothing comes packaged....
right. that makes complete sense. So after I have to amp the conversation up to 11, he finally says bring it in, and he'll see what he can do about it.
so several hours later, when I had teh time, I went down there and brought the baked plastic sticker piece in a plastic bag. The owner was no longer there, but the employee who helped me immediately recognized what it was from
(http://i.imgur.com/RJhRrsc.jpg)
he then called the owner, who probably tried to tell him to send me packing, but he had to kinda admit that he recognized the plastic because I was standing right fucking there. You could just see it in him as he was all shifty in his stance and his glance at me that he wanted to lie and side with the bossman, but I'm intently looking and listening to the conversation.
So even though I didn't want it, they ended up making me a new pizza. a more expensive one that I previously had. I'm not really sure what I wanted, but it wasn't another pizza.
Is there more that I should have done? what do you think should have been the resolution to that tale? Should I sue them?
I would love to own a Pizza Hut. I'd let you run it.

Never ever go to the same store the **** happened at. They will try and shut you up with some free product. Go over their head entirely and use the feedback system they probably have. Or better yet, call their customer service number and use the information on the receipt to report the particular store and people involved.

Or you can post that story on every random Internet forum you can find until the company tracks you down and offers to pay you off to stop.

You could have asked for a refund. Manager shouldn't have been so shifty with you, but at least you got something on it. The survey system is a great way to give feedback. It is also very lame. It is an all or nothing system so giving them all 4/5s is just as bad in corporate's mind. You could mess with them and just keep doing 4/5 for everything. Or give all 1s. You could try to get to the district manager as well.
I just saw a facebook post involving a fingernail in a pizza. I don't understand why people have to use those things while working food service. Put them on after work. They should have been wearing gloves.
Thankfully I don't work for Pizza Hut anymore so I don't have to deal with the crap from employees anymore.

I gave H.H. Gregg a really shitty review through a survey when they were being incredibly shitty (I will never buy anything there again) and they called me within hours and made up for it. Still, I'll never shop there again.
