I just wanna say that these conference threads (E3 threads in general) move pretty quick. So if you're using FireFox I recommend you install the AutoPager extension so that you have one long continuous thread with no clicking to the next page. Really good if you are trying to catch up on what going on.

AutoPager has been updated and works with pretty much every site I've been to.

The infamous Giles Martin on stage (son of George Martin, Beatles producer). They've remastered all the tracks to "give gamers the best experience." The game has "never before" heard studio chat with the entire band.

1) I Saw Her Standing There
2) I Want to Hold Your Hand
3) I Feel Fine
4) Day Tripper
5) Taxman
6) I Am The Walrus
7) Back in the USSR
Octopus's Garden
9) Here Comes The Sun
10:36 10) Get Back

"All You Need is Love" will be available exclusively through Xbox Live. All proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders.

"Their music will undoubtedly endure long after they're all here." "It's a privilege to introduce Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr"

"What do you think of the game?" Ringo asks Paul. "I love it"

"The game is good. The graphics are very good! We look great." -- Ringo

"Today, we're going to deliver even more" NXE functionality. "You're not going to see charts and graphs" but "you are going to see 10 world premiers of games that have never before been seen." "Entirely new ways to connect with your friends." Tony saunters on stage with the skate peripheral in his hand.

Tony Hawk -- "As you can see, it looks similar to a skateboard. The whole thing responds like a real skateboard. It just felt like the technology wasn't there yet." "The best way to experience skateboarding is like it's meant to be: on a board."

World exclusive trailer description incoming: Live action video, professional skaters talking about skating. Dude jumping away from an explosion. Pro skaters agree: RIDE is almost just like riding a real skateboard!

Splinter Cell: Conviction gameplay. Sam playing a piano, having flashbacks about his daughter, leaving his old organization. The emo beard is gone, thank heaven. "The man who played by the rules, listened to the voice in his ear. he's gone." Fisher being hunted by his organization.

Sam Fisher just disarms a thug's gun, takes it apart, breaks his arm and is now shoving him around while choking him. The info that Sam is asking for is projected on the wall like a movie screen.

"Driven by his emotions, Sam is now the ultimate predator. And nothing shows this off better than his newest ability: the Mark and Execute." Each environment is a sandbox. Sam is much more nimble than he used to be. The controls don't look nearly as awkward.

Due out this fall, only on Xbox 360.

Will this be episodic a la Alone in the Dark? "Tonight on Alan Wake" it says. Looks that way! Wake is running through a cabin, chasing Rusty. The game is narrated by Wake as the game is played, as though you're playing through the novel.
Big horde of monsters, it looks like to much for Wake to handle. He runs to a nearby generator and starts it up. Creating a safe zone of light. Bullet time mode, Wake kills a monster with a flare gun. Big explosion. nice pyrotechnics.

Music channel and Netflix channels discussed.

Schappert: "You've just seen an incredible lineup of exclusive games on Xbox 360. Today I'm proud to announce that music is coming to Xbox Live" thanks to a partnership with Last.fm. And best of all Last.fm will be available to Xbox Live gold members later this year for no additional charge."

Today Microsoft is relaunching video service with full 1080p with Zune video. Also, every movie and TV show will be accessible instantly. Doubling number of countries video store is available in. Will launch this fall. No need to download or anything. Will just play.

"Netflix has been a huge hit for our US members" and now they're going to make it even better. Notably, by adding movies to your queue straight from the NXE – no computer required. Not in the US? They're bringing Sky to the UK. "Live television delivered to a gaming console with no additional hardware needed."
So, upgrading to 1080p; every movie and TV show is available instantly; and they're more than doubling the number of countries the service is available in, from 8 to 18! "InstantOn" 1080p HD ... that's really the brand.

Announcing Live Party so that your avatars will sit around a virtual TV and watch it. Looks like a lame version of Mystery Science Theatre. Announcing a partnership with Facebook. Felicia Day on stage from The Guild.

Season 3 of the guild is coming this fall... Showing off Facebook on Xbox 360. Same kind of windowed browser as the rest of the Xbox interface. Can use friend linker, that shows XBL and FB friends in the same list.
Can view photos from yourself and your friends off your Xbox. Can view them in slide show mode. In fullscreen on Xbox. Can also browse status updates on your Xbox.

Facebook is discussed.

thats all folks.

Nothing mindblowing, no major MEGATONS, but Sony lost another exclusive.
Natal was probably the most interesting thing that they showed, but it on a wait and see status to see how/if they actually use it.

Modern Warfare 2 was probably the best game of the conference too and the only surprise was L4D2, even though we kinda knew about it already.

The devkits for Natal are going out now... Imagine what that means for the first game release dates (and how much longer we'll have to wait until someone makes a game for it that doesn't suck). Motion Plus is going to get a serious lineup TOMORROW. That is why MS would have had to make their move in 2008.

Of the games the only one that looked really interesting to me is the Epic Super Metroid ripoff. If Epic is going to be as in GoW it's not going to come out here though...

I think most people have listened up on the mention of Metal Gear and tuned out on the mention of Raiden...

Crackdown 2 isn't a system seller.  Anyone who cares already has Crackdown and a 360.

Alan Wake is a potential system seller.

I could have sworn it was known, I remember hearing about it a while ago.
I don't even really keep up on 360 news because I don't have a 360.

I really think MS minimized the impact of their conference with all the leaks. We knew about everything except the software showcased for Natal & maybe twitter, Sky & increased Netflix functionality.

I hate the name, but the tech is damn impressive. WiiMotionPlus needs to be as great as I hear, and they need to start Headtracking 3d too.

Holy ****. Microsoft knocked that one out of the park. Natal is just the code name, like Xenon was for Xbox 360, and Dolphin for the GameCube. Anyway, the freakin' thing has voice activation too, it seems to work much better than I imagined it would have. If they announced this when Nintendo originally showed off the Wii, then I'm afraid the system sales would be pretty close to reversed. I think it's a little too late in the game to have an impact on Wii sales (with Wii Motion Plus releasing this month, and Natal not even releasing this year), but I think I'll definitely get this thing, even if the block breaking game is the only thing ever released.

It seems like you'd be extremely limited in how much depth you could have in a game with those controls; you might be able to do Wii Sports but I don't know how you'd accomplish even Mario Kart without an apparent way to control accelerator, brake, and weapon throwing. There also doesn't seem to be a way to smoothly transition people from Natal games to more traditional games that use a standard controller like the "bridge games" Nintendo has talked about.

It can capture your movement in 3D, so you could sit on a couch/chair, etc, and have the camera watch your feet for the imaginary gas/break pedals, or push your arms out to accelerate, and pull them back in to slow down. Keep one hand on the wheel to steer, and use the other to throw an item, in any direction. Using just your hands = extremely limited, using your entire body...not so much. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo and the Wii, and I'd love to find some shortfalls of this thing...but they've got some absolutely amazing technology on their hands with this thing.
Title: Re: Microsoft and Sony E3 2009 Conferences

I think Nintendo's bridge games won't transition people to traditional controllers, just more complex games. They'd still want to have peopel follow their brand of interaction.

Of course the demo worked well on the stage, they probably made sure it had optimum conditions. There was a noticeable lag.

The problem with Natal is that the software just isn't there. Yes, a virtual boy, who wants that? Virtual puppies are fine because you keep those but don't you have children in order to reproduce instead of having to scold them for not doing their homework? Virtual puppies are great for irresponsible children but what parent would buy their child an imaginary friend? The other stuff didn't look like it'd really connect to people either. Meanwhile Motion Plus is past the tech demo stage now and will get actual game announcements.

One picture showed that it only detects the major limbs, not the fingers.

That's what I'm saying. Clearly they are going after the Wii, but if they had actually thought of a new way to control games, instead of seeing Nintendo's success and trying to one-up them, then it would probably be a different story. There was lag in early Wii games too. Button presses have always been instant on the Wiimote, but aiming as off in games like Red Steel, and even a little in Twillight Princess.

Call me crazy, but something just doesn't sit right about pretending to change a tire with your whole body on the 360.

Keep in mind they were just showing tech demos. Of course no one wants to pretend like they're part of a pit crew, changing a tire is a pain in the ass IRL, no need to simulate it. They're just showing the level of motion that can be used, since they're probably aren't any real games using this tech yet. The skateboarding demo = pretty awesome. Imagine a Spider-Man game - shoot the web by flicking your wrist, then grab with both hands and pull towards your body to swing.

I think Nintendo's bridge games won't transition people to traditional controllers, just more complex games. They'd still want to have peopel follow their brand of interaction.

That's what I'm saying, though. You can do more complex games with the same controller you do Wii Sports with, I'm not convinced you can do anything more complex than what they showed in the press conference with Natal.

Based on how it handled things when the guy tried to show the crowd the bottom of the avatar's shoe I don't know if it's precise enough to work based on motions as subtle as that. And I don't know if it would be able to sense the direction of the imaginary wheel if you only had one hand on it. Just look at the initial tech demos of the Wii, what became Wii Sports, they gave off a great impression of the capabilities of the hardware but no one was able to do motion controls that well again until Motion Plus came out. I'd love to see this thing work the way they make it seem, I'm just far from convinced that it does.
Title: Re: Microsoft and Sony E3 2009 Conferences

Just give it more than a 5 minute demo to make any decisions - also, his baggy jeans most likely were the cause of the problem with him showing his foot - that and the avatar was slowly rotating on screen, probably throwing him off a bit.

Post by: NWR_insanolord on June 01, 2009, 05:17:19 PM
Like I said, I'd love for it to work and I'd definitely buy it if it did, especially considering there were only two games in that press conference I'll probably buy and neither one of them is a 360 exclusive so I'm looking for something to justify my 360 purchase, I'm just more skeptical about it than a lot of people seem to be.

We want both, but MS leaked everything before hand, so even if they did have a MEGATON announcement, we would have known about it already.

Nintendo has only let two things slip so far, and that is WiiFit+ and the other thing isn't even solid (mario game).

Sony has let most(if not all) of their cat out the bag too. but some of the things we know about most likely aren't gonna be announced at E3 anyway, like PS3slim and possibly PSPGo.

I'm sure you guys would have liked Nintendo's presentation more last year if I had revealed our next two years' worth of games, but that's just not how I roll.  :reggie:

Anyway, Natal is technically impressive IF it manages to work.  The host, "Waggle Kudo," was having trouble even getting the dashboard to scroll the way he wanted it to, and spazzing out in front of the camera to hit balls is like the soccer minigame in our own WiiFit, but with less precision.  Lionhead's Milo was perhaps the most impressive thing shown, but again, as much as I respect Mr. Molyneux, his track record is not exactly the best in the industry.  All-in-all, even if this project isn't a sham, I see it taking off the ground in a manner similar to Sony's EyeToy; that is, not very far before crashing to Earth in a glorious ball of fire.  :reggie:

Well well, it seems Microsoft finally decided to break its seemingly unofficial Cease-Fire agreement with Nintendo and declare a new rise of hostilities with this new motion-capturing camera peripheral.  Good.  Nintendo needs a good ass-kicking at its own game to get it out of complacency mode and back into take-no-prisoners mode.  I'm not convinced that this camera will actually work successfully and consistently with real games, but it is an interesting (if even more physically stupid than the Wiimote, with the flailing in the air) concept.  Let's see if and how Nintendo decides to fire back tommorow.

They will. Its called Motion Plus.

You should read more into this, brood. The time for MS to reveal this camera should have been last year, a time in which the Wii was very, very popular and it was a great opportunity to steal some thunder. They didn't and decided to once again focus on Sony. Nintendo reveals Motion Plus early because they thought MS and Sony would unveil their own Wiimote concepts and steal some of their consumers away. But this didn't happen. This gave Nintendo more than enough time to work on MP some more and create more games around it.

Now God willing Nintendo WILL answer back in a big way and show some games that truly take Wii gaming to the next level and makes anything third parties create obsolete. THAT will be Nintendo's retaliation.

MS is too late. They are basically starting the race just as Nintendo is two laps ahead. The time to have answered was in 2007 and 2008. By 2009 the generation is too defined.

Not to mention that MS's other attempts at "kicking Nintendo's ass" have failed (Banjo Kazooie, Lips, You're at the Movies, Family Games etc.) so once again, I think Nintendo isn't even worried about what either Sony or MS will do because they already have an answer and both companies are struggling to figure out Nintendo's strategy.

Of course there's motion plus, but time (and hopefully tommorow's press conference) will tell on whether 3rd parties will fall over themselves to use it or hell...just how much Nintendo themselves will use it.  The interesting thing about this new Xbox peripheral is that if their own marketing spin and tech demos is accurate, you only need the camera.  If you want to hold something to simulate and perhaps customize the experience, great.  If not, you don't need it with possibly full body interactivity (instead of just your arm and hand).  We'll just have to see if Microsoft can back up their boasting with actual games, and if Nintendo will have more compelling games using Motion Plus.

When did the 360 launch? 2005? MS is 4 years too late. The Wii remote was only successful because it was the whole point of the system and from the beginning. The technology would have failed had Nintendo tried to sell it as a peripheral for GCN. I'm not bashing the technology, it could be great, but honestly, at this point, who gives a sh*t? Like the Avatars, MS is only attempting to one-up Nintendo instead of coming up with something new and interesting. There's no stopping the Wii and the only reason that's true is because the idea is only new once.

The idea may only be new once, but I like the idea of another company offering even token competition to what Nintendo's doing with the Wii.  Any competition is good for the industry in trying to spark new ideas.

That's the key right there. Both companies need to prove that their new technology is worth it. But what I am saying is that Nintendo has a HUGE advancement over MS because Motion Plus is a reality and about to be released with real games. MS just showed ideas and promises and it might get delayed further and further while more and more MP games are released.

MS should have announced this last year, before Motion Plus was revealed and a reality. It would have stolen some of Nintendo's thunder and by now they would have had major games to show off.

So again, as much as some people wants the MS camera to destroy Nintendo it won't. Nintendo's strategy was defined from the very beginning. MS is now starting to respond to it.

$200? Microsoft would be lucky to sell even 10K at that price if that reporters guess is right (he admits he is just guessing that it will cost at least $200). Even at $50 it would struggle to make any impact this late into the Xbox 360's lifespan, but $200 would kill any chance of it being anything but a failure.

The thing is, while it's probably certainly Microsoft's hope that this peripheral adds a few years onto the life expentency of the 360, I think this is more being announced now to prepare people for a new console down the line that will have this technology as part of its central design philosophy.  If you can sell people on the technology now when it looks somewhat abstract and futuristic, you don't have to sell them on it later when you're actually serious with a real piece of hardware designed to use it properly and so you can focus on the actual games rather than the technology.

Besides, this announcement was also possibly made to try to drive another boot through the teeth of Sony, who are also rumored to have a motion controller of sorts in the works.  This probably won't do much against Nintendo, but it could do even more real damage to Sony if their motion tech is nowhere near as advanced.

Metal Gear Solid Rising on 360. Damage done. MS didn't need a $200 camera to kick Sony in the teeth. And if Sony has a motion controller that's not $200, MS didn't accomplish anything.

Also, there's something odd about the Project Natal "experience" vid. There's the game show demo where 4 people are playing the same room but only one person's actions count (like a game show works) and the soccer demo where the one girl kicks and the other girl tries to block. See, that's seems misleading to me. It looks like one person must perform an action before another person can which isn't the same experience as the Wii where everyone can waggle to their hearts' content. It's not like 2 people were able to drive in the demo (the girl was driving then the father changed the tire, one action then another) and that seems like something that MS would want to show off. Of course (if this is even true), Xbox Live kind of solves the multiplayer issue, but I always thought that the best part about the Wii  and what Nintendo was striving for was the experience of playing in the same room with 3 other people. Still, online and local multiplayer are 2 different experiences and if this is the direction MS is going, it's not the same as the Wii.

Left for Dead 2

http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/143/14352241/vids_1.html

Why?

After reading through a few articles, this is pointless and an insult to anyone who bought the original. The first game was only released six months ago--one year ago when the sequel hits. Disregarding the fact that this should simply be free DLC (ala Valve's own statements prior to L4D's release, and their history with Team Fortress/Counter-Strike), you'd think they could at least package it as a traditional expansion pack. I can't help but think that the need for a console version gimps what would have been an otherwise obvious path of release.

The gameplay videos kind of worry me as well. The game looks... well... cheesy now. The bright clothing and lack of ambience due to bright lighting. It doesn't have the atmosphere of before.

That said, many of the new additions are direct fixes of what everyone has been complaining about for a while. It's just too bad it looks like it might not be integrated into the overall package and instead split up the community and kill any long-term support.

I liked that Natal thing, but I really can't see many gaming experiences. Maybe as extras, like tilting your head will make you look out of a car you are driving or things like that but whole games around that concept alone? Maybe only the game they showcased but the gameplay ironically seems... limited.

How accurate is it really? can it recognize lets say the movement my hand makes while writing to the point it can reproduce the writing itself? if so THAT would be damn impressive and would indeed open a big door for gameplay possibilities. Its really interesting, but the idea is ahead of its time, I don't see it taking off right now.

Natal SEEMS to be impressive, but I want to see it tried out in an environment that isn't staged. Perhaps i'm being too skeptical but there has to be a catch, whether they are exaggerating what it does or it has some flaws (I think the speech recognition could be a big flaw if tried elsewhere. Am I interested? Definably, I will probably get it but it doesn't' seem like it can be used for much beyond more casual centric games, and that in itself plays in the Wii's favor (not to mention miming everything may not be all that much fun for something more complex). What I found quite funny in an ironic sort of way is that they were throwing the standard controller into the trash compactor when talking about that, so are they saying that 360 games of now are basically worthless because they use a controller? That seemed to be the message they were giving, which was "You know all those games you seen before this camera? Well they are archaic, this is the future!".

Really I don't think Nintendo has to worry (though them co-developing the camera with Ubisoft proves they aren't being complacent either).

The problem with Microsoft is they are an insanely wealthy company and they are not able to grasp that joe consumer doesn't have money to spare. The price of the balance board for the Wii is high, but its at the borderline of what is acceptable. This MS peripheral goes beyond that borderline. $200 is the price you pay for a system, you don't expect to be paying that for addons.

The camera is amazing and wonderful, new immersion is possible.

The problem will be in implementation and marketability.

What companies will actually use it.
The cost of the unit.
The cost of developing for it. The biggest killer as I see it. Consider this plus HD dev costs ;)

Super impressed though. Now I need to see it stress tested.

We know the motion tech works, we seen it in the Zcam demo a while ago. I thinks its more can they program games using controller-less gameplay that is fun and intuitive. Its basically Eye-toy 4.0 and eye-toy never really caught on. I really think they should just delay this till their next system launch. You need a high adoption rate for developers to take this thing seriously.

And just so everyone knows ahead of time, Sony is rumored to finally be ready to show the Eye-toy 2 which uses a wand for full 3d tracking.
MS's Natal might have just ruined that reveal for them.

Quote
Microsoft announced a weird Eye Toy-esque gimmick last night with the terrible name “Natal”. With Nintendo already prominent in the motion control department, it seems just Sony are left to make the jump.

Cue rumours coming out of E3 about Sony’s “Wand”; a new controller which will allow full motion tracking.

After the uproar Microsoft’s exaggerated “Natal” demos caused last night - we think Sony would be better off sticking with the games. But hey, these conferences take months to organise, there’s no way they’re going to drop something now.

Nintendo must be seething.
http://www.pushsquare.com/2823/e3-2009-sony-ready-the-wand-as-a-motion-control-war-seems-imminent/

Quote
Sony Ready “The Wand”

Rumours are heading our way from E3 this morning that Sony is about to unveil a brand new controller during its E3 Press Conference tonight. The controller, which is apparently wand-shaped and will allow full motion tracking, has been hinted at for some time but tonight might be the first time we see this thing for real.

Up against Microsoft’s 3D body tracking Project Natal, however, such a peripheral might well already look outdated. Let’s hope the team at SCEA have had enough time to digest last night’s shows and adjust as necessary: an emphasis on EyePet, which uses similar tech to Natal, might now be the sensible way forward.

We’ll be covering the show right here on TSA, details to follow soon.
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/06/02/sony-ready-the-wand/

Could be hilarious times at the Sony conference if true, hope they have some really good demos to try out.

Why doesn't Polyphony's president's translator just have the speech printed out to read or something?

President claims that this new Gran Turismo is not a lesser release. It looks like it'll use wireless to trade cars.

Track creation is done simply by driving around to create it (elevation is controlled with right stick). Then you can use tools to add objects and alter the terrain. That's pretty neat.

So what happened at Sony's conference?

I tried compiling my posts and a few other observations:

There's some footage of Uncharted 2. It's a pretty intense and scripted demo with rooftop jumping and a firefight with a helicopter.

Now there's a live, 256-player match in MAG. (For that many players, it seemed kinda quiet...)

PSP talk: trying to expand their market share with more bundles. Hanna Montana bundle just got some cheers from... adult males?
PSP Go is revealed. It's half as small and 40% as light as previous models and includes a 16G hard drive. It's also referred to as "E3's worst kept secret," so I imagine those interested probably already know about these details. Priced at $249.99.
Lowering the price of PSP dev kits.

A true GT sequel for PSP 2010.

Kojima announces MG Peacewalker for PSP, which is a "true sequel" set in the 70s after Snake Eater and looks to have 4-player co-op.

PS1 games will be available for download on PSN, with FF7 to lead the pack - starting today.

Rockstar is making a game called Agent exclusively for PS3. It's set in the 70s and takes players across the world as an ...agent.

Assassins Creed 2 will be set in/during the Italian Renaissance. Apparently, Leonardo Da Vinci will make your devices for espionage.
Da Vinci.

FF13 trailer looks gorgeous. FF14 revealed as another online title exclusively (?) for PS3.

ModNAtion Racing is the next title in the LBP-style user-created-focused content genre. Track creation is done simply by driving around to create it (elevation is controlled with right stick). Then you can use tools to add objects and alter the terrain and even the sun's position in the sky.

ICO Team's latest is The Last Guardian. It appears to be an interesting mix of ICO (castle-climbing puzzles with a CPU-controlled partner) and Shadow of the Colossus (fighting giant climbable bosses). You're (another) clumsy boy, but this time you work along with a giant pet bird-dog.

This just in: GT5 to bring more realism.

God of War 3 looks solid. And gory, very gory. It's due for release in March 2010.

Also tomorrow is SquareEnix and Konami's conference's should I change the topic title to Microsoft,Sony and third party's conferences?

Sounds like a good idea.

Well, as I had expected only The Last Guardian stood out with me among the crap that Sony was shoveling today in that Press Conference.  I love the FF franchise generally, but I despise MMOs so XIV is dead in the water already.  Didn't particularly like God of War 1, so God of War 3 just does nothing for me.  And outside a few games I can't see why anyone would care about a PSP that can only download games at this point.  Great show, Sony.  You made Microsoft and Nintendo's conferences look like works of art.

If all that stuff came with the system, it might be really popular with some decent software.

Exactly, as it stands it will probably sink and die like the first Eyetoy.

The thing is, I don't see that hardware making their system more popular because it's still too expensive for the average consumer who cares about motion-sensing to afford.  Plus, I only caught bits and pieces of that portion of the press conference but I don't believe they demo-ed that peripheral with any actual games, just tech demos.  If all these companies can't get motion sensing right with the Wii (which they've already had several years of practice with) I don't see why they'd suddenly get it right with Sony and make a compelling experience.  Sony's just started experimenting with this stuff, and Nintendo's already at least 2 years ahead of them.

Also with Wii motion Plus it is cheap enough, and does a seemingly good enough job in many ways comparable to the EyeToy2 but it can be packed in with games without jacking up the price much.

Man, Gizmodo really nailed it (http://gizmodo.com/5276226/hands-on-is-the-psp-go-too-small), concerning an obvious omissions on the PSP Go:

What I Hated:
• The start/select buttons are just a waste of space on the controller. They could have been stuck anywhere. Instead, they spite you, taking up the spot that the second analog should be. Also, these two buttons simply don't feel as premium as the rest of the device.

Sony and MS + Motion Controls = Face Palm

Jesus Christ on a crutch, I just watched Sony's motion controller demonstration.... "This is true one to one tracking. This is the first time you've ever been able to do this." Are you kidding me?

So first we have MS with "It's better because there's no controller," then we have Sony with "Holy Christmas, this sh*t's never been done before. Woo!" Talk about completely missing the point. Motion Plus launches in a few weeks. And ultimately, all 3 are extras. Motion Plus still has the highest chance of success.

You know that crossed my mind, that Sony fixed the audience a bit and threw in people to cheer for them. It sounded quite odd unless people are that desparately in love with Sony that a Hannah Montana PSP Bundle makes them cheer with joy.

But its also kinda hard for the audience to get excited for a bunch of sequels and announcements that they already knew were coming.

See, I think she gets an unfair rep among fans. This year she presented herself very seriously and professionally. Even if that was part of the script she proved that she defend herself among the big guys at Nintendo. She was just victim of the lame enthusiasm Nintendo cooked up last year.

She deserves more respect in my honest opinion.

About time they did SOMETHING in regards to bringing their great Japan only music games to the West. I'm shocked they are making a repeat mistake and not bringing over Beatmania in response to DJ Hero. They blew it multiple times with the Guitar Freaks/Drum Mania and others not competing with Guitar Her and Rock Band. Rock Revolution does not count.

I was just thinking, with this project Natal coming out, it could replace motion capture, right? There would be no need for big expensive green screen studio stuff, every little indy game studio could now technically motion capture all their animations with the right software.

If you have a PS3, you can just download the Sony Conference from the PlayStation Store.  It's under the E3 2009 section in 3 installments, and it's an excellent way to watch the conference.

I might have to do that (I like GameSpot's offer of a iPod friendly version to download). I still need to find Nintendo's.

they don't offer direct download, but I think we all know ways around that.

The EA MMA will be tough to sell to general consumers since almost every MMA fighter that the casual fan has heard of is under contract to UFC.

We think that Sony's just started experimenting with this stuff, and Nintendo's already at least 2 years ahead of them, therefore the conference has beyond of them.
