Japan isn't being left in the dark on classic consoles this fall, though there is a slight delay.

Nintendo has announced a Super Famicom Mini will be available starting on October 5, for ¥7980. The unit will also come with two controllers, a USB cable and a HDMI cable, but the AC adapter will be sold separately for ¥1000.

The game lineup will be mostly identical to the NA/Europe models, including Star Fox 2, but there are five changes for the Japanese version.

I think japan got the shaft here overall. i can't speak to Super Soccer's quality, but ven as someone who's a much bigger fan of Fire Emblem than I am the Mother series, I feel that mystery of the Emblem is the weakest and least valuable of the Super Famicom games they could have chosen.

I like Goemon a lot, but like... at least go with Ganbare Goemon 2 or 4 if you're gonna put one of them on the system. Also, Super Castlevania 4 is rad as hell.

I'm surprised that they went with Panel de Pon and not Super Star Stacker, but Panel de Pon is one of my favorite puzzle games, so that's where I feel Japan won out.

I also feel that Super Famicom Mini should have gotten FF5 instead of FF6.

Japan does get the superior Street Fighter game too, as Super Street Fighter II is better than the originals.
