What Nintendo 3DS games should you pick up at launch?

After months of anticipation, Nintendo’s latest handheld gaming device is now available in all major markets around the world. With Nintendo reserving many of its heavy-hitting franchises until later in the year, the launch window for the Nintendo 3DS is primarily in the hands of the third-parities.

With so many publishers releasing games at launch, it is hard to keep track of them all! Well, in order to keep things straight, we have assembled a list of launch games as well as a description of each game so you know what to pick up alongside of your new handheld.

To make the task of picking our games to purchase easier, we have given a verdict on each piece of software: Worth A Purchase or Skip It.

Are all of these based on first-hand experience with the games or are there some guesses in there?

Decisions, decisions. I haven't picked up a 3DS yet, partly due to time constraints, but a lot of it has to do with the divisiveness of the reviews. Almost every launch game has had positive and negative reviews, which has left me umm-ing and err-ing.

I'm most tempted by Ghost Recon, apparently the surprise hit of the bunch, and as it's one of the games in the Amazon bundle, I could get it for £15. The thing holding me back is that I've read on two websites that there are frequent freezing problems.

Freezing problems in Ghost Recon?  I haven't heard anything about that.  Ghost Recon is already at my house and Pilotwings is coming with my 3DS.  I've heard bad things about the Sims 3 which is a shame because I'd love to have it on the go but the framerate is just awful.
