So... the title says it all.

Who is betting on my misfortune?

I didn't want to influence the poll.

Heres a reason why they might keep and why t hey might let me go:

PRO I work my ass off and get everything done singlehandedly

CON I'm late pretty often

Discuss.

Well, being late is never good, and doing things singlehandedly is a sign of not working well with others. . . .

I heard that the competition is hiring. Are you any good at deep frying?

Plus in his contract he may have signed the part about not working for competitors for 6 months.

no, not in my case. I'm the only full time cashier they have and i do all my work as well as all the **** that gets thrown my way from several different departments. By working singlehandedly i meant i get things done in a timely fashion w/o having to ask for help.

Update: I'm still at work, and its not cuz we're snowed in or anything (i left my car at home, public transportation FTW) so that MIGHT be a good sign considering some people that were confirmed to be laid off are still around.. though they might of just walked out as opposed to finishing out the day..

PS i wanna know what you guys are voting!

Well, being the ONLY full time cashier has to help.

Still at work, and its still snowing out... So heres the skinny:

I work at a BMW dealership that was recently sold to Ray Catena, so we're becoming a private dealership as opposed to one under the North America BMW company umbrella. Due to this and the economy, jobs are being sacrificed obviously.

My position mainly requires me to tender money for any services rendered here, but theres a lot of other small things too. I help out the call center by picking up any called that fell thru the switch-board, I file a massive amount of invoices daily and alot of other random stuff around here. I like to spice up my job title by calling it a Junio Accounting Position, and its not that far from the truth. I handle a shitload of cash, checks and credit and need to make sure everything gets paid for and collected for the propper departments. I think this is where I shine because some of the (mainly) girls in the call center (the operators) are trained to cashier in case i'm ever out, or just need coverage for lunch, and they all suck at this.

I work closely with the accounting office because of this and the main person that i work with swears i'm the only one that knows what i'm doing and always jokes that i can't take any sick or vacation time because the money will all disappear. Its things like that, that keep me confident because if word spreads that my job is getting done and getting done well with me, and not done or done poorly when other people sit in for me.. well its a confidence booster.

I'm guessing you'll be canned because of all the time you spend sending txt messages at work. :)

NOPE! Cuz i kept my job. It sucked having to say goodbye to some good people i worked with, even the ones I didn't like... I wouldn't wish something like this upone them in a million years. All in all it was a very depressing day no matter what the outcome woulda been.

For those of you that voted for me manwhoring, I applaud you and promise you one day i will fulfil that dream! As for everyone who voted they'll keep me around until i show up to work drunk... You know me too well *sniff* Its good to know i have friends here.

This guy named Izzy got laid off, and he was loved by everybody except me and my friend (a coworker that recently moved) cuz he was a lil weird...

I resent that. I'm a pretty normal guy and you'd know that if you ever responded to my PMs and got to know me, hypocrite. ;)

Firing them before the holidays is terrible. Luckily today wasn't as depressing as friday was, but maybe thats because there was more business since it wasn't snowing horribly out.
