We'll be seeing a new old Star War on May 12.

Aspyr Media have confirmed May 12 as the launch date for the remake of 1999's Star Wars: Episode I Racer. The podracing sim will retail for US$14.99 or equivalent.

All of the racers and modes of the original game will be present in the Switch version, including 2-player split screen.

Glad the 2-player splitscreen will be retained. And if everything is intact then hopefully that includes the special control mode. On the N64 it let you use two controllers so that you could have two joysticks to control speed and steering. Now that controllers include two sticks by default I want to give this mode a go again.

I thought I also read that the Star Wars Episode I film adaptation game was also announce to be coming at a later date. Really hoping this trend of releasing old games continues. Though it further shows the sad state the franchise is in when the exclusive license holder has only release like two games in years of holding the license and fans are so starving for content that these decades-old ports are selling well (and are far better games than the ones the main license holder has put out).
