They're still releasing things on 3DS Virtual Console. Shocking.
Nearly a year after its last release, three more games will come to the 3DS Virtual Console.
Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow versions will release on the Nintendo eShop on the 20th anniversary of the games: February 27, 2016. The games will be true to the original games, glitches and all - except for trading, which will be handled by the 3DS wireless connection instead.
The Japanese versions will offer a physical release on the same day that includes a download code, a magnet in the shape of a Game Boy cartridge, stickers and a Kanto map.
Aside from the obvious nostalgia, is there a reason to get Red or Blue over Yellow? Isn't Yellow the same but better? I've never played it so I don't know what differences it carries over Red/Blue.You start with a Pikachu and it makes the first gym insanely hard. The ground type nullifies electric attacks and there isn't any Pokemon available that can dish out super effective attacks. At least Charmander's fire attacks can do good damage still. Aside from that? I think you just have a Pikachu follow you around and wild Pokemon encounter differences. There might be more then this, but I don't know off the top of my head
