Not one, but three Metroid games out for you to enjoy this week!

Some notable releases this week on the Download, as always! First, Metroid Prime Trilogy has arrived on the Wii U eShop. This originally had a limited retail quantity, so you can already feel the tears of eBay sellers as their hundreds of dollars frittered away into maybe forty bucks at this point. But hey, at least everyone who wanted to have it can now play it to their heart's content! A new demo is out for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. as well, so if you are interested in assisting Abe Lincoln on his quest to rid aliens from our home planet, well now’s a good a time as ever! Finally, if you like your releases a little more indy, Gunman Clive 2 is now out on the 3DS eShop. Neal praised it a ton in his review (which you can see here) so if you’re feeling a bit more art house-y than usual, why not give it a try?

If Nintendo wanted to make eBay scalpers weep and release a Wii collection, why didn't they use Super Mario All Stars? At least that has a .500 good game batting average (as opposed to Armature's .000) and also justifies Mario coming around again in the Throwback Sale.

When I saw "three metroid games," I got really excited. I thought that the zero mission download finally came to America.

Because they aren't selling Metroid Prime games individually on Virtual Console whereas with Mario they are, they would much rather you buy all those games one on one over and over. Same reason you likely won't see Zelda Collector's Disk brought over.

Too bad you can't use the Upad with the Prime games.

Oh well. Now if only they'd port Cubivore...

At regular price, the Mario All-Stars would be slightly more than buying the 4 NES games individually (even more so in Canada) and they're different enough between the graphics and native saving to justify releasing both.
