The indie hit Gone Home will be coming to the Wii U eShop in the fourth quarter of 2014. This is what Nintendo of America said at an Unite 2014 presentation and also confirmed it in a press release on Friday.

The title, developed by the Fullbright Company, was originally released almost one year ago. It is a first-person exploration game in which players take control of the character Kaitlin. She has to research the mysterious disappearance of her family and the plot will further evolve as she moves along her house in search of clues.

The Wii U version of this acclaimed game will be published by Midnight City.

Midnight City is the arm of Majesco (COOL) that helps publish indie games, if I recall correctly.

Neat to see this game come out for the Wii U. I hope there will be some gyroscopic hijinks for the items you pick up and examine.

If we're not going to get Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Wii U as is so often rumor, this seems to fill the "ghost game" void. Looking forward to it.

Hmm... Wait for the Wii U release and pay premium price, or buy now for less than $8 via the Humble Bundle and get 5+ other games at the same time?  (Currently the list of additional games includes SteamWorld Dig, Hammerwatch, Gunpoint, Papers Please, and LUFTRAUSERS.)

I much prefer gaming on Wii U over PC, but it's hard to argue where the best value is... if you have a PC capable of running the games, that is.  Timing and comparative value is a big problem with these types of late releases, and Gone Home isn't the first game to run into the issue.
