Nintendo has released a new update for the Wii U that allows full system transfers for the first time. The new option will be added to the System Settings menu and will enable users to transfer all software and data to a new console.
Version 5.1.0 will also allow users to navigate through the eShop using any Wii U compatible controller and adds general system stability improvements and other minor adjustments.
As usual, updates to your Wii U system can be received automatically if your console is connected to the internet.
More information on the Wii U system transfer feature can be found here.
Hmm, I wonder if the system transfer is in preparation for a new model with more internal memory.
If it included an internal hard disc drive (or at least an empty bay) and the GameCube controller ports, I'd consider buying that model. Also, if it played GameCube discs, I would definitely buy that model... Even if I was forced to do so in Wii Mode. Not a proud man but I probably would too. Kick my Wii to the curb.
