http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/35354
It was revealed today that Professor Sycamore, the Professor of the Kalos region, will be giving Pokémon players the Kanto starter Pokémon (Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur) in Pokémon X and Y. Additionally, the Kanto starter Pokémon's final forms (Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur) will all have new Mega evolutions.
The new starters, Froakie, Fennekin, and Chespin, will be given to players by a close in game friend before they meet Professor Sycamore.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released worldwide on October 12, 2013.

Box 1 filler ho.
-
I think Venusaur got the shaft.
-
Honestly, this makes me a lot more interested in this game. I know it's fashionable these days for Pokémon fans to hate on the older games, but as a casual fan of the series this kind of thing gets me more excited for the new games.

I know it's fashionable these days for Pokémon fans to hate on the older games,
BAHAHAHAHOHOOHOHOAHAHAAHAA!!!!!1111!!
...ahem. What I meant to say was, you must be joking. The reality is actually the complete opposite: it's very cool for the fandom to bitch about the new pokemon gens. Hell, they've done this every gen for the last ten years.
-
All I know is whenever I express fondness for the original games/Gold & Silver I run into people jumping down my throat for it. Plus, Shaymin above me and a bunch of other people seem to hate that this is happening.
-
Don't worry about them, I've played nearly every mainline pokemon game and I'll say that G/S/C are still my three favorite games in the series. (I will admit those were my first true pokemon games so a fair bit of nostalgia).
Pretty cool about the Kanto starters. Probably will go with the fire starter so I can pick Squirtle to be my teams water type.
-
charzards power is really overpowered! ::)
It's called sun blaze or something!
He dies in eight turns in sunny weather...
but hes special attack gets doubled each turn e.g +1 first turn, +2, +4, +8 SO ON!
u can see how it gets overpowered!

I think the problem is I've played the games so much that I've used those Pokemon to bloody death. I'm more excited for the new Pokemon than anything. I'm also in a minority of one, which means I'm insane (as opposed to Ian Sane).

Gotta agree, except there isn't that much you can do with his design. Unfortunately.
-
Hoenn region was the best!
RUBY FOR THE WIN!
-
i wonder if they will make a remake of ruby&sapphire?
-
Hoenn was my least favorite region. Couldn't really tell you why. I only played Emerald, and maybe I just needed more time to put together a good team.
Gen IV was my fav because of the Gen II remakes (previous favorite).
-
You didn't like Hoenn? WHAT?!
all the islands, the cities in the treetops, the island ones, the underwater ones, the floating town!
Maybe it's because i love water so much is because i liked it!
-
I just didn't find the actual Pokemon that interesting. Plus, the environments weren't that memorable to be (maybe because I only played through the region once). And the Champion in Emerald specialized in water types. That felt too easy. Like just another gym leader.

I feel like thats how it should be tbh.

Stevens a dragon master? WTF? Plus tropius is the rarest pokemon other then a legendary!
Only avaible in Hoenn (i'am breeding lots!) And the starters and lengendary's were awsome!

Drake (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Drake_(Elite_Four)) uses Dragon-types.
Steven (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Steven_Stone) uses Steel and Rock-types.
You battle Drake as a member of the Elite Four in R/S and E.

I don't care about balance, I'll be picking both fire ones.
Unless we don't get a choice in the Kanto starter and it's based on which new one we pick, in which case it'll be a very tough choice...
