"I want Nintendo's staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us 'You guys make a new Star Fox,'" he said.
Apparently Kamiya proposed a space shooter years ago, but was so content with Star Fox 64 that he thought there was no reason to go further with the concept.
Nintendo's own Shigeru Miyamoto recently said he would like to see a new Star Fox game. Whether there is one in the pipeline is unknown, but there is definitely support from fans and developers for another entry in Nintendo's definitive anthropomorphic animal-starring space shooter.
Platinum Games made anything Star Fox like befor?

They are a relatively new company (they were founded in 2006). Their only games so far are MadWorld, Bayonetta, and Infinite Space. I guess Infinite Space is the closest to a Star Fox game.
Why would someone want to be held at gunpoint for any reason? Completely illogical.

Why don't they just handle "on-foot" (out of the starwing) missions like S&P gameplay with a jetpack on StarFox's back, or make it the exact same left to right gameplay on the ground with a barrel roll while on foot? doesn't seem that difficult. Use the pointer for aiming.... I can picture it in my head.
Again, why would anyone want that? Why would someone want to be held at gunpoint for any reason? Completely illogical.
Deep inhale........Head shaking exhale......
I'm sure Hideki Kamiya-san, was refering to the type of pressure that Nintendo imposes on development studios when they "lend out" their IP's.
Again, why would anyone want that?
So Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya wants Nintendo to come to them and fund a new Star Fox project. I'm sure Platinum Games never producing a mega-hit (outside perhaps Bayonetta) has something to do with that. Yes, it's nice to want big checks from a publisher more talented than you. I'll stick with Nintendo (or Treasure) reviving the franchise, thanks.

If Nintendo isn't going to do it internally, they should let Platinum try. It couldn't be worse than Namco's attempt.

Since Star Fox has always had the wingmen the OBVIOUS thing to have done for a third game was allow you to play through the story-mode with FOUR PLAYERS!!
Especially if their last publisher, Sega, stated that Platinum can't work with anything other than HD consoles. That comment come from some media idiot in Sega of America's barnyard of a marketing house. All of Platinum's games, sales wise, haven't even touched NSMBWii's sales combined.
Now that I think about it, how is Bayonetta's overall sales combined for both PS3/360 compared to the first Devil May Cry?

Well, I think(and so does Kamiya-san) that with Nintendo looking over your shoulder is more than likely to bring out the best in a developer or at least what comes out as the end product is what Nintendo had in mind but needed a second brain to think of it.
Sadly history has shown us that doesnt always mean a better product because we did get Star Fox Adventures but we also got Punch Out! and I'm at least thankful for the latter.

Why don't they just NOT BOTHER with on-foot missions at all? Seriously, no one likes them so why do they feel compelled to include them? And this applies to a lot of vehicle based games.
^ I like this gauy :) Best new guy ever (Sorry Maxi)!
That's when they were Capcom, I thought you were referring to Platinum Games (& I'd even add in Clover Studios just to give them a bump).Clover has a very strange history in it's foundation. It was first Production Studio 4, which made Resi Evil 1-CV, and Dino Crisis, and I think Viewtiful Joe before Clover came into being. Those games sold more then any of Clover's games (sans VJ).
I'm not the type to understand why anyone would want someone to stand over their shoulder and dictate what they can and can't do, as I would want complete creative freedom if I were to make a videogame. But that's just me.Again, why would anyone want that?

Why is this no-brainer idea so hard for Nintendo to grasp?!Would you have each player on the same 'rail', or would their paths be significantly different?
Again, why would anyone want that?

ControlerFlex,
You take the blue pill (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/../) and this is the end. You return back to the main page and you carry on with whatever it is you usually do.
You take the red pill (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php) you can make your way to the Funhouse, and we can show you how crazy this place(and all it's active members) actually are.
