My friends call me Lord. It started after I ate three full orders of wings at a Super Bowl party a couple years ago but it stuck. Based on that we've started calling the group of friends Lord and His Disciples.

may i ask where the insano comes from?
other nicknames given to me don't really have much back story and hardly ever stuck, outside of the person who gave it to me anyway.
There was Maggot, from my friend Joe. To this day he doesnt know why he started calling me that.
Atticus, which was just some weirdo's way of referring to me by what my sweatshirt said.. which stuck for a looong time after (whenever i'd see this guy or his friends again)
then there was Mexican, which came from a bunch of Racist pricks i knew in highschool which at first i thought were just a group of guys that would constantly bust eachothers chops; i mean afterall there was an italian, a german, a korean, a chinese, a black guy and a hispanic (me). Turns out their hatred for other races was the one thing they had in common so they tolerated eachother enough to call eachother friends.. i left that lil circle of "friends" reeeal quick.
a short time after that the one guy from the group that i stayed friends with (we knew eachother before then, he was the older brother of a girl i had a few classes with in elementary school), james.. who was the black guy in the group.. who hated black (stereotypical) black folk (which i found hilarious).. anyway when he later on found out that I wasn't really Mexican in the first place, and finally had the nerve to ask me where the hell i was from (america wasn't a good enough answer).. he started calling me "The EC" (Ecuadorian). Though thats not where EasyCure comes from.

When I was like 14, I had no decent nicknames. Everyone just called me Dan or something lame like that, so I came up with "Dasmos, ruler of the Cosmos" and tried to get that going, but it failed. Then I got a pretty cool nickname that I was called throughout the rest of highschool, Danomite. As in Dynamite. That stuck for a while, but after I left highschool my nicknaming evolved into a different type of monster.
Since my last name is Jackaman, I get a whole pile of variations of that.
Basically everybody calls me something and add "aman" to the end of it. There's literally been hundreds of them that my friends have created. "Jerkaman" is probably the most used one though. There was even this one girl who came up to me one time and was talking about how she felt sorry for me because she thought my last name was "Jerkaman". She was explaining that she gets lots of **** too because her last name is "Grope", pronounced "Grop-ee".

*note to self: stalk Dan Jackaman of Adelaide, Australia*
Those nicknames are lame, you have stupid friends. Then again I probably wouldn't of been able to come up with better. The only things that come to mind for you would be stupid **** like;
Jackinabox Jack-off-aman (which sounds pretty sweet as "Dan Jack-off-aman" Jackoffasaur (ala south park) or the ol' standby; DJ. How has no one called you that? :P
Oh and that last part reminds me of a girl that was too embarrassed to ever tell me her last name becuase she claimed it sounded stupid. She would make me guess what it was with the hint "in school i always used to get teased cuz my name rhymes with 'nice titts" ???

Shorty Bellew, who lived down the road from us and had an orchard, called me Charlie because that was the name of the old timer who owned our ranch before we did. Incidentally, my bedroom was the room he died in.

I go by Nate, short for Nathanael.
My first sister couldn't pronounce Nathanael when she was little so she tried to call me 'brother' instead but it came out 'Bobby'. The neighbors were convinced I was Bobby and I hated it. That sister now calls me Natey so when her kid gets older he will call me 'Uncle Natey' apparently.
My other sister called me Na when she was little and even though she is 11 now she still calls me it. It's really funny because when I frustrate her she'll go "Na-yah!"
A girl I liked in college started calling me Nader but I hated it because I would think of Ralph Nader.
In high school some guy was convinced I was Hispanic and proceeded to coin me 'Poncho' for some strange reason. Kinda funny.
Also, another guy in high school called me 'Churchy' because he said that I knew a lot about 'Bible times' after I answered some questions about Ancient Rome really well in history class.

i got Perm as a nickname due to my hair, but it is used by only 2 people in real life, i started using it as my screen name when my cousin saw me loading my initials PRM into Datona USA
most people call me Patter in real life, my name is Patrick, so my dad started calling me Patter as in "the pitter patter of little feet", one day my friend heard him say it and he started calling me Patter, as soon as he started doing it, all my other friends started doing it. I used to go by Pat before that, but being a Patter instead of a Pat makes it easy to distinguish me from the other Pat

I generally go by Nick. Although a few friends call me their original roadie since they're in a band and I help carry the drums. Sometimes captain n if we're all drunk and free styling.

You know, I actually started using "Mop" before "Mop_it_up", so does that make "Mop_it_up" a derivative nickname from "Mop"?
I think I just blew my mind...

Yes, and it also means you can't get upset at people who call you Mop, since it's a name you use for yourself :p

I'll get upset if I want to get upset. And "Mop" isn't a name I presented here either.

Well, it's a traumatic experience darn it!
I can't find a pic but...back then, there was an add for something (maybe taco bell or that other taco selling place) that had a fat cat called 'Nacho' the cat, or something. I was a fat kid, and they made the connection.

In junior high they used to call be "Head". Because, well, my head was gigantic. 10 years later, I can't move my neck with wincing with pain. Sucks to have such a big head. But at least I have this show (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8lHyLV2QLQ) to relate to.

Is that the only reason they used to call you head?
We used to refer some girl as that back in HS, but it wasn't because she had a big head ;)

Yikes. I had a similar incident happen to me minus the cute mascot. Things like that suck. Stupid mean kids.

I was teased for being a fattie, too, but nobody ever managed to make a nickname based on it, thankfully. I mostly got called Fryguy and French Fry because I share my last name with the star of Futurama, and thank goodness that show didn't exist yet when I was in grade school. I eventually decided to embrace it (I even have this (http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/demotivators_2085_4070198) sitting on my desk at work), but Fryguy is way too popular a name to use anywhere on the Internets without adding 21675140346 to it, and I hate that kind of thing.
One guy in high school managed to come up with something based on my first name that I really hated at the time. In retrospect, it was actually pretty good and quite a bit more clever than calling me Fryguy for the millionth time. I don't tell anyone it because I'm afraid it might actually catch on, and that wouldn't be right unless someone else came up with it.
One of my college buddies calls me Grand Admiral because of a slight resemblance between my name and a minor character in a Star Wars movie -- so minor his name isn't even spoken in the movie.
