Titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the port is being handled by Treyarch, who worked on last year's Call of Duty: World at War.
It is scheduled to hit stores on November 10, the same day as Modern Warfare 2 and the recently announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized for DS.

Judging by the response here, this is not what Wii gamers want. I personally am not interested because I don't like military shooters.
Rails shooters have been pretty successful on the Wii, much to my surprise. Dead Space isn't out yet (is it?) but I'm pretty sure RE:UC sold well.
So they're giving us MW1 while everybody else gets MW2? What kind of lazy bunch are these people?
Does Infinity Ward have some sort of itch against developing on Wii themselves?
I think the death knoll was Treyarch.
There's a reason why they're calling the new one only "Modern Warfare 2"
I have Call of Duty WaW and its neat, but nobody plays it here so its just collecting dust and about to hit eBay. In fact I don't even like these war games less for the on line presence
Does Infinity Ward have some sort of itch against developing on Wii themselves?I hope they don't. In in the near, I would really like to see an Infinity Ward game built from the ground up for the Wii.
Don't forget controls. Don't forget controls. Don't forget controls.
wow, i was just checking around the net and there are some people who are dead set against and for this game. Its funny that most cant be happy that a system is getting a game. Who cares how old or good it is. If its solid, it will sell. This announcement also comes in after The Conduits online success with the market too.

And I'm under the impression Quantum of Solace The Video Game sucked Thunderballs.
Way to go, Treyarch.

COD4 has sort of been one of the flagship titles for the HD consoles for the last 2 or so years, and I think that alone has given it a bad reputation amongst the hardcore Wii fans, who have been rallying against the HD consoles.
That's not a good reason to dislike a title, but I think you'll see that kind of sentiment around the internet pretty frequently.
Maybe Conduit will force them to make COD4 fully featured and not drop special elements left and right. Conduit set a standard and any relatively talented studio should be able to raise that standard with a little TLC dev time.
I do hope they include the DLC stuff.
at least capcom's not making it..

I meant that there is other things out in the market place for Wii owners to enjoy.

I disagree. Since pretty much every third party treats the Wii like something they dug out from under their big toenail, Wii owners do not have much out in the market place to enjoy. Third party options are slim pickings and Nintendo themselves doesn't provide enough first party content to make up for it.
It isn't like one third party dicking Wii owners around. It's ALL of them. So you can't just go "well then play something else" when the problem is so widespread. There isn't something else to play. For someone who considers this an important issue well over 90% of the Wii library is affected by this in some way.

I don't know that the stories of the COD games are continuous, or really in any way related.
Don't anyone get on my ass for not supporting third parties on the Wii ever again.
The only way I can see this *NOT* being a direct insult to Wii owners if it's sold at $30 or less.
Cool, we'll have to play. From what I hear about your Conduit skills I want you on my team in this, not against me.
My advice here is to not let all the politics of the situation factor into the decision when you're looking at a game. Don't buy a game to prove a point, or refrain from buying a game to prove a point. Buy games because you think you'll enjoy playing them, and don't let anything else matter.
Man, Activision thinks of everything.
Gerard Butler and Dwayne Johnson can't save us?
Why are people bitching? Yeah, it's old but it's one less reason for gamers to buy a secondary console like MS or Sony am I right? For WII exclusive gamers this is great news since the winter lineup lost it's main contender--RS2 delayed until 2010.
And it's not even out yet so how do you know it's going be a crappy port?
The WII is getting an AAA title in an area were it's weakest in and the "fanboys" complain? Hell I would bitch more about the 1000's WII exclusive title that suxed ass but I guess that's just me.

Treyarch.
WaW was highly praised on the Wii?

From what I hear, Wii owners have set the bar pretty low.
