So I feel like Brawling and Karting. If you want to do either my numbers are in my signature. If you have those disabled here they are Brawl code is 5026-4264-3179 Mario Kart Wii number is 1891-1720-1306 Everyone on my Brawl list is registered and ready to brawl. Mario Kart I have added Bosshog, Pap64, Shift key,EasyCure and Infernal Monkey but they haven't added me yet.
So who wants to play Brawl or Kart with me?

Well I'm going to enter a online forum tournament. It will probably be a small tourney. So I need a sparing partner.It takes place in June. Anybody want to help me out?
Here are the rules: 4 stock no time limit matches. Only item allowed are Smash Balls set to medium. Don't know on stages yet but I would guess it would be set to random.

Seemed pretty stable to me. There was mild lag for a brief moment but nothing to the point where things grinded to a halt or was unplayable.
Gonna try & upload some(if not all) of our matches when I get back from work.

So all the rules are set up for the tourney.It will be 4 stock no time limit.Smashballs only set to medium. The stages are going to be random.No user created stages but all other stages are ok. The way the matches work is if I am up against someone. My and my opponites schedule have to be ok with each other. Once there is a time both of us can play then that is when we will have our match. We only need 3 more people to sign up. Once we get 3 more people we will start.

So the tourney started and I made it to the second round. There was only 6 players to start the tourney. I played my round robin matches versus my two opponents. I beat one of them but got beat by the other. Got beat by Caterkiller.Now I have to wait for Caterkiller to play the other contestant. If the other competetor beats Caterkiller than we will have 1-1 record the three of us and we will have one 4 stock match and whoever survives that match will be the winner.However if Caterkiller wins versus the other competitor he will face me in a best two out of three match.
So the odds of a NWR member winning this tourney is good.

Same here, I found myself hitting walls a lot more than I would like. I'm debating about going non-wheel controls and seeing if that's the problem. I'm definitely thinking about practicing with bikes, as they seem to have the advantage.

We will be doing a F4A Marathon match with Random weapons and stages.

There should be a tournament just for people who haven't played literally in 4 months or more.
Just go in cold-turkey. No practice allowed. Then have another tournament for not playing after 8 months.

There was 4 people. Stratos couldn't play at that time. EasyCure same story. I PMed alot of people on here but they didn't bother responding.

I tried messing with my modems settings and got new error codes! When I attempted port forwarding (i say attempted because i'm not sure if i was even doing the right thing) I would not only NOT get my Wii connected to the internet, but the one PC i had connected to the same router wouldn't connect now either. I reset everything back to the way it was before I started tinkering with it, without erasing my Wii's given IP address, so I can at least go in to the shop channel etc.
At the moment though, my ethernet cable is plugged back in to my PC though, and no attempts to connect the Wii online have been made since the last.

I only play using a Wave Bird. I've never even tried any of the other control methods. If you forced me to play any other way I'd be at a disadvantage.

Which makes the replay all the more sweet considering you practiced regularly, and I'm like "eh, it's been 3 months, I guess I'll play some online Brawl for once". That night, I spent the prior matches sacrificing other characters just to learn Your habits, and it paid off with shocking results. Then you flipped-out and went off to practice for your "revenge," losing more of your humanity, and you beat me some weeks later. Congrats, I hadn't touched the game since the last session.
I use the Wii-Chuk control scheme, so I've got some kind "control disadvantage." Daisy beat you on strategy, spacing, and setup alone (like Steven Segal AIKIDO *waves hands mystically*).
Without the C-Stick shortcuts, you and many other "serious players" have no game.

I just checked signups and we have 7 people. Probably going with 8 players. If we go with 4 player matches than the only way I see it being even is to go with 8 or 16 people. I don't think we will get 16 people.

Psh, I was an Ice Climber before it was popular. I do chain grab, but rarely can get more than three throws from a single grab: I'd be better off forcing a Nana smash, or a Nana fair to Popo smash right off, but I don't. 18% damage from a chain grab isn't exactly devastating, is it?
I'd sign up, but I'm not clear on when it's even happening. I'd play as Ness, but on my Wii, Ness isn't unlocked, I play the game mostly on my roommate's Wii.

Maxi got second and JRNN placed 3rd.
I placed second in the qualifier but I didn't realize that the finals were taking place right after that, so I was disqualified for not showing up. Maxi actually lost the qualifier but he was allowed to advance to the finals since I wasn't there. So don't say I've never done you any favours Maxi.

Well for those interested in knowing the results of the bomberman tourney there was only 4 people. Me and Mop_it_up played and 2 others. I got 4th didn't win a match. Bomberman Blast was my first bomberman game. Mop_it_up got 3rd but was tied with Crashman so they did a best out of 3 I believe and Crashman won that tie breaker placing him at 2nd place. Arkia got first.

So yeah I am thinking that after E3 maybe June 20th I will host my bug type tournament. Here are the rules. No entry hazards. Only using bug types in the tourney. We will likely be using Pokemon Platinum or Pokemon Battle Revolution to play. 6 pokemon. Single battles. It will likely be one match per round.
Anything else goes.

Yeah all bug types except Arceus. Level cap will be level 50. You can raise your pokemon higher than that but we will use level 50 as the default level to play.

Oh! Todays Tuesday! In every game post-original gold/silver I've quickly lost steam in the game until I've acquired a Scyther. I need one to have any motivation to play. In Platinum I think I had to make due with a traded Kabuto from my sister until she could find one in her version. Kabutops is my second favorite. I like monsters with scythes apparently. In my original Blue/Gold team all but like one member of my final roster knew slash or something like slash.

I used to be convinced that Heracross was an evolution of Pinsir. Both are bizarre beetle type pokemon.
The first image of Scizor I saw was a teeny tiny image in Nintendo Power and I thought it was a pre-volution and pronounced 'scissor'...ah, that reminds me of getting in arguments in English class with my friend on how to pronounce names like Eevee and we badgered the teacher until she made a verdict on it.

Here is what I did to find some of the bug types I used the Platinum GTS and asked for specific pokemon. If I got a nature I didn't like well I just breeded with ditto till I got a good nature and ability.

Which basically means that you will be paired with someone as your foe and the two of you work out a time for your match. The tourney will start on June 20th and will go till we have a winner.

No entry hazards.So no Stealth Rock,Spikes,Toxic Spikes.No Sunny Day.No use of the move Double team.
Other stat uping moves can be used.Like Swords Dance or Agility.Whirlwind or Roar can be used as that is a way to stop stat boosters. Of course Baton Pass can be used if you like. Taunt can be used but there is really only one user of it for bug types.
You can use the move tutors in Heart gold and Soul Silver if you like.

I was thinking no teaching moves like Flamethrower and Air Cutter to all your bug-types. I'm fine with the moves you describe, Maxi. My restriction would be this:
No TMs. The only moves that you can "teach" your Pokemon (as opposed to them learning naturally through leveling up) are Move Tutor moves and maaaaaaybe Egg Moves.

Well first of all the only fire type move that the bugs can learn is hidden power. Which getting the right type and power can take a while since it depends on the pokemons IVs.
Second I will think about the no TMs. I already started my team and it has a few TM users. So weigh in let me know what you think.

Ok so I looked through the bug types movesets that Halbred listed and there isn't really a good way to beat a few pokemon with the movesets so I am allowing TMs.
Maybe next pokemon tourney I can switch things up.

Eh I'm sure every pokemon will have at least one move that counters the bug types. The challenge is to counter the counters.
Oh another thing no multiple pokemon of the same type. So no having 3 different Venomoths. You can have the prevolutions of a pokemon along with its later evolutions so a Scyther and Scizor will work.
And with that it is Officially 1 month till the start of the tourney.

I'm gonna opt out. I'm nowhere near close to having a competitive team of pokemon, let alone exclusively of bug types. Not enough time to grind and such.

Let's just put it off until July 1st. Now that I'm finally getting around to leveling up my Bug team, I'm gonna need more than two days, unfortunately. I think I've got a pretty good team, but I suspect most other people in the tourney will have the...same...team.

Actually, I have to thank maxi.. I have almost played through for the first time with nothing but a team of bugs.. I have always liked them, but never could focus on them..

I've been having Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection problems lately with Pokemon. Also, I won't be able to commit to a tourney entry until like Friday night because this is the last week my brother-in-law is in town. I've barely been able to train these last two weeks. Everybody in my team is at Lv. 40 or slightly above, so I'll use the rest of this week to pump them up to Lv. 50 and then get with the fightin' this weekend.

Well I have to finish my team up. Also you don't have to have everybody at level 50 because we will be using the DS games and will automatically bump or lower everybody up or down to Level 50.
Also for the tourney we will have rolling times which basically means that you will be paired with someone and you two will decide on a time and day which works.

Maybe the general rule of thumb here should be "don't be a cock."
No Bug type can learn Flamethrower. I call shenanigans.
I know this was three months ago, but technically this is not true. You can use TM35 to teach Flamethrower to Arceus, and when Arceus is holding the Insect Plate it is officially a Bug type (the Sky Plate lets Arceus become the only pure Flying type in the game).
