Title: Woo!
Post by: nickmitch on June 01, 2008, 10:07:42 PM
So, I just got to Minnesota (explain later), and I just now got internets (just in time for intended for audiences 17+ Mafia). There was no wi-fi, so I had to go through a hassle and buy and Ethernet cable. Now, I can browse the funhouse from my comp instead of my iPhone.

BIG NEWS!

I start my internship at Target (Sorry, Bob) Corp. tomorrow morning!

Go me.

Now that I know the secret Target plans, I'm going to e-mail them to Lee Scott, CEO of Wal*Mart. We'll get the jump on buttered camel sales (although they'll be lead coated knock-offs from Chinese sweatshops), kick Target's ass in sales (again) and I'll get a big ol' promotion. Hahahaha!  Now to go let Lee Scott know about the buttered camels...

My first casual Friday is tomorrow! I'm pumped.
Although, I'm not supposed to disclose company info, I want to share this tidbit. The department made me do karaoke as part of initiation. The song was a messed up version of the ABCs. It was so bad, that the girl who went after me got an 81; while I got an 11. Awesome.
Also, scavenger hunt! We get to do that tomorrow morning in place of actual work. WOO!

What were your experiences at Sears, K-Mart and Shop-ko? Why would that hurt your chances?
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: animecyberrat on June 06, 2008, 02:11:16 PM
Let's see I got fired from Sears for, um something, I walked out on K-Mart cuz I got a better job, this was back when they were filing bankruptcy and were only giving us 3 hours a day and I needed more money than that, and Shop-Ko I also walked out on during my first night because it was a stupid job, graveyard shift, and I got a better job the next day so yeah.
Title: Re: Woo!

Why didn't you just not put them down as past experience?  They don't HAVE to know you walked out on so many jobs.

WOO!

I just had the most awesome day at work today. Had a half day, did some volunteering on the nicest day we've had since getting here, saw the new Hulk movie (fan-fucking-tastic, BTW) and about to cap it off with some of the best food ever.

Target rocks.

Also, this thread is now my blog.

So apparently, Garfield sucks, and Mondays aren't all that bad.
The morning was filled with 2 speakers. The second of which was REALLY good. Best speaker we've had.
The afternoon involved an impromptu trip to DQ where I got a medium vanilla cone which was bigger than I thought it'd be. Also, it was awesome. Good day at work today.

Got to see Wanted just now. I give it a SUPER AWESOME FANTASTIC MOVIE FTW out of 5 stars.
I will get to see Hancock on Monday. Impressions then, but make sure you all go see Wanted. You may know it as that movie with Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, some guy, Common and a **** load of guns.

So, yesterday, I finished reading V for Vendetta (graphic novel). It was great. Very thought provoking and compelling.
Recently (as in just now), I watched V For Vendetta (2005). It sucked. It was very black and white about everything. I hope Evan has complained about how bad this movie is because it seems like the makers of this film thought that taking the source material, laying it out on the floor, taking a dump on it and then lighting it on fire was the way the way to make it in to hot ****. When in all actuality, the way to do that is to ingest the source material, become one with it, excrete it out in to a fine, porcelain bowl and then igniting it with your own "creative juices."
I would go in to detail about how bad it was (it almost made me take notes), but I'm hoping that Evan already has, so I hope that nice metaphor will be enough.

Anywho, anybody else picking up the iPhone 3G this Friday?

Post by: Plugabugz on July 08, 2008, 10:46:33 AM
No. I don't want it. It needs to mature more in its creative juices. Plus O2 have dropped the ball with offering only 600 texts. I sent 800 last month (and my bill is £6 lolz). I NEED MORE THAN THAT.

800???? ha!

(checks phone)

"As of 07-08 9:38 AM, 711 used, unlim. remaining"

doesnt sound like much, right?

Also, I liked the movie V for Vendetta.  But I'm not familiar with its source material.

Great day today. We spent the afternoon competing against our rival department in various events and winning. Then, I got to see the Mummy: Dragon Something or Other.
It was ok. Actions sequences were nice, plot was nonsensical.

So, we finally presented today, and it was A SMASHING SUCCESS! I had to walk my senior buyer through the presentation yesterday, since he's out for the rest of the week, but everyone else got fully WOWED by our presentation. Good to note.

So, last night I had a few drinks, but wound up helping this chick move (LAME). Thankfully, her and her friend are really hot, and now they think I'm strong as hell (like I'm not, right?). It was weird being buzzed and carrying things, though.

Anyway, TODAY, we had an awards ceremony (if I had known we were going for awards, I would've won some), and it was really nice. There was some free stuff. Speaking of which, I got a bunch as a gift from my mentor (the whole team did!). There are sure to be bittersweet goodbyes and job offers tomorrow.

I almost forgot to mention that I got to see Pineapple Express today. Free with small drink and popcorn. It wasn't a PRE-screening, but hey, you can't beat free. I liked the movie, BTW. Not too plot heavy, but it does get to the jokes. I would say it's better than step brothers, especially if you like pot.

So, I've been back home for a few days, and I have to say; I really miss the internship. It's nice being back home and all, but I miss having work to do. I also miss all of my intern friends, my mentor, my co-workers, free movies, etc. I guess it's good to see all of my old friends again, and it will be nice to get back to school, but I just can't shake the feeling that I got a taste of real life, and it tasted good. Now, I'm in between that and the snowglobe of school, that I call living at home with my parents. Maybe I just love summer so fucking much, that no matter what happens, I'm gonna be pissed when fall hits.

Oh well. C'est la vie.

Well, to make it better, I'm pleased to say that since I've returned home I have: had 2 all night Smash Bros. sessions, went to a tye-dye party, played an epic prank, saw Wall-E with a girl I kinda like, and had a nice lunch with my godmother.

and how was the hot date with your godmother.

Pretty nice. We went to Cheese Cake Bistro. I had a burger. It was delicious. She's really proud of me and all of my accomplishments. We also went to my grandmother's house. Everyone there was happy to see me, especially my cousin's daughter. Technically, I'm her uncle? She calls me her brother, which is great because that means in 5 more years I get to beat up the teenage boys she brings home.

Sweet. whatever happened to the rat? is he still without internet in Coeur D Alene?

So, I'm back at college, and life is great, for now. I was finally able to register for accounting, which is great because I'm majoring in that. All of my friends are back together, except for one who should be back for Spring semester. I have a single with a full bath this year (envy me), and the room is pretty big. It's not as big as my friend's single, but he has to share a bathroom, so **** him and is nice room.
I haven't seen everyone I've missed over the summer, but I'm sure I'll run in to them eventually.

It's good to be back.

SOOOOO!!  I haven't updated this in a while.  Allow me to fill you in on the goings on of my day-to-day life:

For my birthday, we did some stuff and went to see Tropic Thunder for the 2nd time.  It was that great.  My teachers are mostly ok this semester; although, I barely go to Stats, and my Econ teacher is a D-bag.  My friend got bitten (a few times) by this crazy chick (the story is not as complicated as you might think, she's just crazy), and I thought it was funny.  Today, we walked past her going in to my dorm.  She called him over.  Me and another friend kept walking.  He quickly caught up to us in a near sprinting sort of walk with an eerie sort of smile.  We asked what was up, to which he replied, "That was Krazy Kelly."  I loled.

Biting is always fun, the crazier the better.

Oh no, my birthday was in August.  I was just mentioning it since it happened after my last post.

Side note: Al Capone from Tropic Thunder co-hosted the homecoming step show.  That guy is hilarious, but Rudy Huxtable's banter is ass.  She's nice to look at, but not as nice to listen to.

i LOLed at south park last night for something that i'm not even sure was an intentional joke or not...

The scene when everyones partying in the street, drunk, Randy and a few others were drunkenly chanting "change!" very much like the zombie-like homeless people in that episode about them taking over the town. Other than that, the episode wasn't that good. :(

First off, the South Park episode was hilarious for two reasons: Sarah Palin and Randy.

Secondly, I've never seen so much love on the streets before. Every where I go, I see people smiling, making eye contact, and overall just in a better mood. It warms my heart.

The jokes were there. If you invested as much into the political process as some people like me did, there was plenty to laugh about.

I live in a college town read: real america, and people usually just mind their own business, looking at their feet or talking on their phone. This week has been different.......very different. I feel like I could walk up to some random person and give them a hug and it wouldn't be weird in the least bit. That's a pretty strange feeling.

It's like everyone (obama fans.....everyone at my university) are all extremely happy.

Well, South Park's comedic formula has changed a lot over the years.  They stopped being the joke-to-joke funny a while ago.  Everything is a lot more subtle now, like the part where Ike was marking the political cast as deceased and under Palin it says "Ms. Congeniality."

If that's how you justify the 12th season, whatever. The best episode this season is Major Boobage. All other episodes are crap. Look at Canada on Strike, the only reason that episode is funny is because it was easy to make. Everyone knows their is plenty to make fun of about popular videos on youtube.

Now your seeing a lot of abuse of Randy Marsh's new found personality. Look at Pandamic 2, I'm sure you noticed that they COMPLETELY abused that stupid startling comment. Which is a great example for the rest of the episodes, they find one joke and stretch it across an entire episode. Bam, episode made.

Continuing the story from previous posts (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=26666.msg467555#msg467555), I saw the girl today.  My friend and I were playing GHWT.  I was on vocals when she and her friend came over.  We played a bit and then went to see Role Models (good movie).  After, we came back for some more GH action for a while, but then time came for her to leave (she lives in another dorm, and so does my friend). Everyone else clears the room, and we start dancing for some reason.  I put on some music (mostly, to be funny) and we make out a bit.  I also kissed her good bye when we dropped her off (I rolled with my friend who has a car).

Good day.

So, as we all know, there was an "event" today in DC.  Being as that's where I currently live, I thought I'd check it out.  However, if anyone (esp. Stogi and GP) turns this in to a political thread and gets it locked, I will hate you forever. :)

Any, I should probably start with last night.  I didn't sleep for various reasons.  Those really aren't important.  Just know that I went to bed at 2 with the intention of getting up at 4.  Anyway, I woke up a quarter to 5 feeling like ****.  I texted my friend who had overslept about 7 minutes less than I did.  We eventually agree to go, since we had planned on it earlier.  We leave around 5:30 without one friend who left with a crowd and didn't call anyone, like a jackass.

So, we start walking down there.  I'm wearing boots and that **** is hurting my feet/legs.  The lack of sleep didn't help either.  The cold also wasn't too bad.  We make it to the metro station, and I'm already tired.  We decide we check to see if it was crowded before we continued walking.  It wasn't really crowded because too many people couldn't figure out how to buy cards, so no one was waiting on trains.  We just missed one because our urgency detectors didn't go off until it was too late.  Thankfully, the next one came in no time.  We get off at China Town to resume walking and the crowd was MASSIVE.

We had to walk around people who were being slow.  There were a lot of vendors out selling Obama paraphernalia; hats, hoodies, buttons, shirts, signs, posters, perms, weave, etc.  The crowd was so big, even the vendors were like, "DAMN!"  So, we're walking down 7th (I know you don't know where that is, so shut up), but we decided to circumvent the crowd.  We eventually get stopped by a road block that was only letting ticket holders through.  We got passed this by going in to a cafe and walking out the back door.  It was that easy.  The next series of barricades were avoided by going through some back alleys.  Again, that easy.

Eventually we make it to an entry point.  There was a deli near by, and it looked warm.  We decided to go in, but the food made us hungry.  Naturally, we ate a hearty breakfast and washed it down with some hot cocoa.  Our friends were out somewhere in the cold, and we didn't pity them.

Eventually, they started letting people through.  We got in and started walking around.  We were stuck across the street from the National Mall.  We tried to get over there, but to no avail.  We eventually found ourselves in a restaurant with heat and bathrooms.  The line was ridiculous.  We waited in it for all of 2 minutes when we realized that the line was entirely female.  Walking past and rounding the previously unmentioned corner lead us to a barely crowded men's room.

We then call some friends and see if we can get across the street.  There were too many snipers on the rooftops for us to try and make a distraction and run for it.  So, we make for the 3rd Street Tunnel.  The tunnel wasn't that crowded, at first.  As we got deeper in, the number of people became staggering.  It would've taken at least an hour to get through, and then more security.  We decided it wasn't worth it and headed back.  We watched the inauguration on TV, in the dorm's club room.  I feel asleep as soon as Obama stopped talking.

The End. . ?

If i was there i would love to take pictures of the snipers, but i know that wouldn't look right and i'd end up pissing my pants in fear of having a sharp shooter somewhere out there with his sights on my head...

I'm $20 worth of pissed right now.
I decided to cash in on Circuit City's liquidation by buying a GHWT band kit, walking across the street to GameStop and selling everything else to get the drum kit.  I get the game for $150, then sell everything back for $30, effectively paying $120 for drums.  THEN this (http://gonintendo.com/?p=71138) happens.  It's not so bad, but if I would've checked before I left, I know I would've waited.  I mean, it's only $20 (which I keep having to tell myself), but still, it's $20.

So, we had "Pie an R.A." Day, and it was awesome.  The men won a basketball game, and they all wanted to celebrate.  Things got extra hilarious, extra quickly.  Everyone had a great time (except one RA, who no one likes), and the dorm made some moolah.  We're all going to laughing about this for days.
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: Stogi on February 10, 2009, 05:01:41 PM
Dude, that sounds fun and all but nothing, NOTHING, can top what I stumbled apun at one of my dorm get-together thingies.

My R.A. and I were boys. I had a fake (techinically, my brother's ID) and bought him numerous cases of beer when he needed it (and sometimes when he didn't). We had an accord. I'd hook him up with alcohol and he'd leave me to do what I do best; raise hell.

So one day, everything was going on as usual. He comes into the lounge and makes an announcement. (to paraphrase)

"Us R.A.'s are having a sex ed expose in the main hall this evening around 6. There will be wings...lots of wings." We all started joking around about how he knew nothing about the female anatomy and sex in general, but the wings did sound good. He continued to literally beg us to come. It was his duty to make sure at least some of us attend. So we promise him we'll be there then get back to watching the game.

A little afterwards, a buddy and I dip to go smoke and chill at the nearby lake. 6 o'clock rolls around and we start getting hungry. We remember what RAndy (R.A. andy) told us, so we head back to the dorm.

At this point, I'm excited. I'm high, hungry, and I can already smell the wings. We start making jokes about how we're going to be shitting for hours after this. Still laughing, we make it around the last corner and step into the main hall...and I **** you not; this creepy old dude was pushing two girls together back-to-back and in their hands were...were....GIANT DILDOS. They were so big it covered up their faces! My goofy smile faded into bewilderment. Like a reflex I exclaimed "WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON IN HERE!" The chatter stopped and everyone, fucking everyone, turned around and gave me the same weird look, as if I had done something wrong. The guy especially got all tense with his face all scrunched up and tight, with his hands on his hips. I look over to the table in the corner and find that there are no wings left, just empty trays of sauce bubbling. Again I yell "Ahh son of a bitch!" I then glance at the plates and notice huge piles on everyone's plates; even the girls! And for the third time I proclaim "Ahh really? REALLY?! All of you? Did you really have to eat all the motherfucking wings?! There's only like 20 of you motherfuckers in here!"

That's when my R.A. got up and took me aside to talk. He's like "Stogi, calm down. I'm glad you could make it." I reply, "Make it? Make it! What in balls name are you talking about? Whaaaaat the hell is going on here, RAndy?" While I was talking I heard the dude continue "Now some of you may like anal sex, but be sure to use a lot of lube or else you may rip your sphincter." My shock wears off and we just start laughing "RAndy, are you serious?! Is this what you wanted us to learn? How to properly get sodomized in the ass? This is bullshit. You know this is bullshit right? This is buuuuuuulllllllshit." He replied "You guys should have come earlier." My friend replies "For the instructional video on how to properly insert a 12 inch dildo or for the wings? I mean, come on RAndy. This is ridiculous."

I turn to the group and just start ripping everyone apart. One by one, I wasn't going to let this down. "Is this exciting? You guys having a good time? Hey girl in the corner, wipe that drool off your face. Anyone got a mop? If you think that's impressive you should check out my balls! You know what I'm saying! *fake high five* God you guys are fucking strange. Shouldn't you be studying or something? Are you going to tell your mom about this when you talk to her later?" My R.A. proceeded to push us out, telling me to stop while he tried to hide his smile from the onlookers. "Hey old man, De-enda called! De-enda dis dick nigga!" Then we bounced.

God that was weird. You can be sure I embarrassed the hell out of RAndy anytime I could after that.

Alright I got one, not quite as funny as Stogi's but funny anyway.

So in college I had this friend Rob. Pretty cool guy, but him and I would constantly **** with one another. One time in particular he thought it would be hilarious to set my background on my computer to Lemon Party. Anyway, I needed to get him back.

A few days later, towards the end of the night, he was walking down the hallway towards my dorm. Directly in front of my dorm is the lounge area, which is closed in by huge panes of glass (ie you could see the hallway from the lounge and vice-versa). This particular night, the lounge was pretty full (we had a ping pong table in the lounge and like 3 couches), and there were a bunch of girls in there hanging with a bunch of the guys from the floor.

I figure this is the perfect opportunity to get Rob back, as he is acting like a retard, walking down the hallway. So I quickly walk past him, duck, and pants his ass, right as he walks in front of the lounge. Turns out Rob was not wearing underwear this particular day, and there he stood, junk hanging out in front of a floor of people. Of course, everyone in the lounge noticed, and Rob was so dumbfounded it took him a minute to yank his pants back up.

Naturally this spawned endless jokes, and you could forever get a rise out of Rob just by saying, "Hey Rob, remember that one time Nick pantsed you in front of the lounge?"

Yup. The greatest part of this story is how much of a dick I was to everyone before I was thrown out. Why would I tone it down?

LOL, you should have seen this girls reaction after I told her to wipe the drool off her face. It was by far the most hilarious moment. Her expression at first was like "me?" in confusion, but then, while everyone was looking at her, she slowly attempted to wipe her mouth. That's when I went on to say "Anyone got a mop?"

Priceless.

EDIT: Mr. Jack, that's hilarious.

Here's a similar story of mine:
My friend had recently gotten a mac last year and wasn't too sure on how to set his background.  Knowing this, I changed it to tubgirl.  He got me back, and war was on.  It was basically a competition of shock factor.  Somewhere after goatsie I decided to get creative.  I found out that he was going to go to the library to study with some chick.  I also knew that he happened to be taking a nap just before.  Naturally, with this info, I close all the windows and set his background to something pretty hardcore.  Not disgusting, but enough to make him look like a pervert.  So, he goes to the library (without opening his macbook) and opens it in the middle of a crowded library.  He tried to close it before the girl saw it (she saw it) and pretended like his comp didn't work.

So, Friday the 13th came around this weekend.  Lucky me, I wake up thinking I'd be warm in a nice sweater.  NOPE!  The wind was like 15+ mph with 30mph.  Fantastic.  I get a pop accounting quiz (blew the last question).  Then, I go to my room before econ.  Walk out with my nice jacket.  I accidentally leave it behind and when I go back to get it, it's gone (of course).  This is extra great because my room keys were in there and now, I'm locked out.  So, I hang out in a buddy's room.  Then, I have to use his toilet.  I close he door behind me (forgetting his bathroom door doesn't have a knob).  Now, I'm locked in his bathroom!  Fantastic!

I did manage to turn my luck around and get laid later that night, but I think it just transferred to her (like an STD) as both her cell phones got soaked when a water bottle broke in her purse at a speech competition she was at (the whole team lost).

So, in a rare event known only as Double-Header Friday, I had an Acct II exam followed by a Business Law exam. The tests were from 8-10 and 10:30 to 1 respectively.  Those keeping score at home will see that this is 5 hours of testing.  Naturally, I had a five hour energy and two bananas before hand my first exam.  Of course, it started late, and we were informed that we were in the wrong room, but I still beasted that ****.  Then came the hand crampingly long BLaw exam.  In between, I purchased a muffin and a Vitamin Water (focus).  There was only one multiple choice and like 8 essays.  I murdered that **** and passed out in my bed.

I awoke about 5 and a half hours later, shortly before my former room-mate came.  We later went to the "HU Carnival" being held in the gym.  That was fun, and there was free food.  There was a brief fashion show involved.  Sadly, there was only one nipslip.

Then I went to a P. Funk concert.  That **** was a beast.  George Clinton was there with his rainbow of hair, and funk was in the air.  He smoked a few jays on stage.  It was hilarious.  Great times, great times.

Wait...where do you go to school?

George Clinton is the fucking man, hands down. There's a reason why Dr. Dre stole all his **** to make "The Chronic".

What songs did they play? Flash Light? One Nation Under A Groove?

Yes and Yes.  They played all the songs you'd expect them to with a few surprises thrown in.  One was their rendition of "To the window, to wall" or whatever the hell that song is called.

I'm at home. Which is great, except no one else is on spring break.  Well, now that I'm off campus, I better fire up those torrents!  AND! I'll finally have time to beat Wario Land: Shake It! and FFTA2.  And sorry, Khush.  I left it at school :(
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: nickmitch on June 01, 2009, 09:39:33 PM
Well, it's been quite a while since I've updated this thread, so I figured E3 would be the perfect time.
Anyway, since we last left our hero (me), I've been up to a few things.  I never beat Wario Land: Shake It! because I guess just wasn't that in to it.  I did beat FFTA2 and MadWorld (both behind schedule).  I've pocked up Platinum and played through most of it.  I'm just left with parts of the post-champion story.  I started Sonic and the Black Knight recently.  That's ok at best so far.
I guess what's been mostly distracting me from games is (was) this girl.  I met her in February and we really hit it off.  Just as we were really getting close, the semester ended, and I was on my way to Virginia (I'll get to that in a bit).  Anyway, I wanted to make her my girlfriend, but she was on line at the time, so that didn't work out.  She did pretty much live in my room, though.  She didn't like her room-mate much, so there was always an excuse to be there (not being able to find her pants was always a good one, too).  The story kind of ends abruptly there.  We still talk, though.  That's nice.
Anyway, my brother graduated from Hampton University (the institute), which is why I had to go to Virginia.  If not for her, I would've gone home and to Jazz Fest before going there, but some things were more important at the time.  Anyway, I lived on my brother's couch for a few days (smoking and drinking and drinking smoking).  I got to party with Hampton people, which was new, but fun.
Now, I'm back in Minneapolis for round 2 with Target.  My new room-mates are pretty cool.  They both go to Indiana University.  My room-mate from last year is here with me, too.  Today was our first day.  A good bit has changed, but that's life.  Anyway, it's good to be back.  My new department and intern team is cool.  2 of them are older than me, but as a year 2, I'm the "senior," I guess.  I'm taking them under my wing.  I can't wait for these 10 weeks.  However, life is leaving me a little tired and busy for E3 coverage, but I am catching the highlights.

So, sellout.woot.com (http://sellout.woot.com) has/had a 360 Pro (60GB) for $230.  So, I check my bank account and I just got another check put in my account from work.  Then, I remembered how much I wanted one (see Ian thread), and realized that this could be a sign. So, I bought one and decided it's my birthday present to me (along with a spending freeze).

To recap my life, I'd rather not talk about my summer.  When people ask I just say it was ok, since at least I got paid.  I'm back at school now.  I wanted a bigger room, but they gave me my old one (which I guess is big enough, but a man needs change).  Had to buy a new TV since the old one broke.  It's nicer (probably didn't help the 360 decision), bigger, more ports and a built in DVD player (which I guess I don't need anymore).

Class starts tomorrow. Sweet.

****!

So, let's start with good things.  I'm REALLY happy with my 360.  So far, I have Batman: Arkham Asylum and Gears of War 2.  I beat the story in Gears and have done some horde online with my buddies, probably some of the best times I've had on a sober weekend.  Batman is awesome.  I'm loving every bit of it.  Probably one of my favorite games of all time.  I could got at it at length, but maybe later.  The next purchase I'll probably make for it is GTA IV and Lego Star Wars. (Juxtapose much?)

Anyway, school's been in full swing for a while now.  I'm also in my dorm's Pageant.  I'm mostly doing it as a favor to an RA, but the **** is ruining my fucking life.  Practice goes from 8-10, so I can barely get work done.  I haven't done laundry in weeks.  The RA I'm doing it for has been turning in to Queen Bitch during practice, and it's just making me frustrated.

Blah, blah, blah bitch and moan.

Yeah, I saw that.  It made me sad, so I decided to ignore it for a few days (like most of my problems).

Anyway, Maxi, I'm not much of a chef, but I can whip up something when the occasion arises. It's not that I'm a bad cook, I just don't really do it.  Also, I spent most of the day watching football with my dad and bro.  I also went to my grandma's and saw the family.

Thanks, decoyman.  It's good to be back.

Same to you, EC.

I do. It'd be a shame to ruin it, but I have almost no way of playing since my dorm internet HATES NWR (and a few other random sites).
Anybody know a potential fix for this? I'm too lazy to go to the computer lab. (The comps there are too slow anyway.)
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: BeautifulShy on February 06, 2010, 06:52:57 PM
Well a leached Wi-Fi point can work but there is the unpredictiblity of the connection. I once played a game where there was 5 mins left before the day ended and I couldn't get the connection back till after voting was over. It was a close vote.

As far as fixing it I would get a router to fix the problem. What is your CPU situation like?
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: nickmitch on February 06, 2010, 11:23:31 PM
I actually have a mac book and an airport express (air tunes + second set of speakers = Win).  That doesn't actually help.  I think it's w/e the dorm uses for internet because I have no problems elsewhere on campus.  I also have the netbook with XP that I'm using now.
BTW, I'll be back in DC and isolated from unprotected networks (hopefully) tomorrow (Geaux Saints).

Do they ban/filter nonacademic/Hawtness sites? Proxy servers or just using the raw IP address (http://174.133.71.42/forums) tends to be the easiest way around the simple site blocking...
Title: Re: Woo!
Post by: nickmitch on February 07, 2010, 10:42:30 AM
Thanks. I'll try that when I get back, but the internet just seems to block sites at random.  I'm not the only one who's had this problem, either.  The worst part is, I can get on MOST of the internet (AKA porn), just not certain arbitrary sites.

Oh, man. Haven't updated this in a while. Where to begin?

Well, things are great with my girlfriend. I visited her over the summer, and we had some fun times. I spent the rest of the summer "studying" for the GMAT, which I took the day before I left for school again. Got a cool 690. I think I could do better, but I don't feel like taking it again. :^/

But now senior year has officially started! I turned 21 (which some of y'all know), and my friends made me barf twice (good times). Our homecoming is coming up, and this year is gonna be a doozy. Erykah Badu is headlining the R&B show, and Slick Rick and Rick Ross are gonna be at Yardfest. Also, J Cole is gonna be wondering around at the events. Definitely looking forward to that. Even got my tickets today! (Like, just now.)

My school schedule is probably the toughest it's ever been, but I think I can pull out a miracle, especially since none of my classes are before noon. Honestly, it's a lot better than it sounds.

So, that's my life. What about you guys?
