The best Nintendo site on the web just got better.
With E3 2010 out of the way, we figured it was time to move on to bigger and better things. What better way to do that than give the site a whole new look? But it's more than just a fresh coat of paint; we've got new features galore, and we plan on rolling out more cool functionality in the weeks and months to come. The NWR crew has put a ton of thought and work into this transformation, and we all need to give the driving forces behind the project a big round of applause:

- NWR Staff – Testing, Suggestions, Feedback
We also have to give a special shout-out to former NWR Director Steven Rodriguez, who collaborated with Aaron and Ryan on the original redesign many moons ago. We couldn't have done it without his input!
Bringing NWR 2.0 to life has been a long haul, but in the end we feel it was worth it. I'm sure you'll agree. We've taken in a lot of reader feedback during the design process (thank you!), and we'll be incorporating even more requested features into the site design going forward. For now, here's the stuff that's going to benefit you:
- Reformatted front page with content sidebars
- News now presented in a more blog-style visual format
- Talkback comment threads now displayed underneath news articles on main site
- Staff Twitter feeds in right sidebar
- Integrated site and forum login
- Press Releases now posted in separate sidebar as a news "ticker"
- Rumors and Editorials merged into the News and Blogs section
- Enhanced Release Date listings
And here's the stuff that's going to benefit us (which, in turn, ultimately benefits you):
- Ability to tag both articles and blogs with multiple tags
- Images can be added to news stories more easily
- New staff profile design
The impact of these enhancements is twofold. Firstly, we'll be able to provide you content in a more compact fashion. Secondly, many of these enhancements will streamline our process of providing you content, while allowing us to present that content in a more attractive manner.
Another significant upgrade is our revised review format. We've made some tweaks that we feel are for the better; be sure to let us know what you think about these changes and others we're making in the reviews arena.
While all of these changes are exciting, what's even more promising is what we have on the horizon. We have big plans for NWR, and intend to push the envelope in order to make this website all that you know it can be. I won't spoil the surprises right now, but there's a predominant theme amongst them: YOU. Many of the changes we'll be making enhance our user community, our interaction with that community, and the community's interaction with each other.
Of course, we'll be relying on you for help! You'll not only eventually be providing content for the rest of the community to share, but you'll also be looking at upcoming features and telling us what works, what doesn't, and what else you'd like to see. As I've said before, NWR is as much your site as it is ours.
