Shiggy Talks to CNBC

by Billy Berghammer - 11:07 am EST
Source: Tendo Box

In a quick interview with CNBC, Shigeru says a few words about first/second party titles, the GBA-GC connection, and more!

Reporter: What are your plans for the GBA and GC connection?

Miyamoto: Our plan is to use it in a unique way. In the past, players had to look at the same screen, which give the best players the advantage. Now there is none of that with the GBA and GC connection. This allows a type of strategy and gameplay that no one has seen before. We at Nintendo and hopefully everybody else can take advantage of this.

by David Trammell - 11:14 am EST

If your B button is deflated, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Salvation is just a click away...

As I was reading a batch of daily reader comments at Nintendorks yesterday, I stumbled upon a fix for a problem that has been plaguing one of my controllers since I played Pikmin. A real quick easy way to wish all of you a very happy holiday season without sending out cards and junk! We're cheap bastards! Are we going to slack off and ignore you for 2 weeks? Hell no ho ho!!!!!

As you read this, I have just arrived home for the holidays, as has the rest of the staff of Planet GameCube. Our company Holiday party was a complete success. Max threw up on Santa, Ty made all the Reindeer write trivia questions, and Dragona kicked Tony Hawk out of the party because he was “wrong”. Good times were had by all. But now we’re off spending the holidays with our respected real families.

Rare sends the oddest thing for Christmas ...

by Rick Powers - 6:25 pm EST
Source: Games Radar

The Internet is all abuzz about what the company Christmas card sent by Rare is all about ...

Games Radar has gotten a hold of Rareware's company Christmas card, and it's set the 'Net on fire with what it could possibly mean. All we know for sure are the facts.

The card is a take on the classic "Twelve Days of Christmas" theme, starting with "4 elements of power." The art is a pretty clear indicator of an upcoming GameCube title, "Kameo: Elements of Power."

Planet Trivia on GBA? GBA

by Michael Cole - 11:26 pm EST
Source: Core Magazine

Maybe not, but Nintendo will be using GBA for interactive trivia games in Japan.

In a partnership with the Nippon Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), Nintendo NCL plans to use the GBA in a whole new way. By connecting the GBA (with a specific game pak) to the Internet, Japanese GBA owners will submit answers to televised trivia questions for an scored evaluation. No further details about the system's versatility or trivia content have been commented on, but if done right the software could prove to be quite popular.

New Baseball Game Revealed by ESRB GC

by Jonathan Metts - 11:10 am EST
Source: SwirlVision, ESRB.org

The industry's voluntary ratings organization has inadvertantly confirmed Line Drive Baseball from Sega...and it's coming to GameCube.

A sharp eye at SwirlVision has discovered a listing for Sega's Line Drive Baseball at the ESRB website. The listing can be found here.

The information in this listing is literally all we know of the game, because Sega has yet to officially announce the game or mention it at all. However, it's worth nothing that Line Drive Baseball isn't listed for any other systems at the ESRB site...just GameCube.
