Monster Hunter Rise Demo Coming In January Switch

Monster Hunter Rise will start swinging next month.

A demo for the March 26 release will be available in January, as with prior Monster Hunter releases on Nintendo platforms. The demo will be "available for a limited time only".

The demo will require a Nintendo Switch Online membership for online multiplayer.

The Switch will get to deal with the Necronomicon a bit more in 2021.

Boss Team Games will publish Evil Dead: The Game on Switch next year. Developed by Saber Interactive and set in the zombie-focused franchise, it is a 4v1 game where players can be among Ash's gang of survivors, or the Kandarian Demon.

Though the publisher of this version might raise a few eyebrows.

A former EA Original is coming to Switch next year with new features and a new publisher.

Sea of Solitude, developed by Jo-Mei Games and originally released on PlayStation 4 / Xbox One / PC in 2019, will come to Switch in a "Director's Cut" on March 4. The features - exclusive to the Switch version - will include new voicework, a retouched script, gyro aiming, and a photo mode.

Final Fantasy VII's Sephiroth Is Ninth Smash Ultimate DLC Character Switch

Cloud started Smashing five years ago, and now his eternal rival is joining the fight.

Sephiroth, the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII, has been revealed as the third fighter of the second Fighter's Pass. According to the trailer, he will be available this month: no more specifics were given.

A new puzzle platformer has just shadow-dropped on the eShop.

Shady Part of Me, developed by the French studio Douze-Dixieme (120) and published by Focus Home Interactive, is now available on the eShop for US$14.99. The story focuses on a little girl (voiced by Hannah Murray) and her shadow trying to escape a dream-like world.

It helps when the competition can't ship enough to meet demand, but still.

The Switch has made sales history again.

Citing reports from the NPD Group (whose full report will be available tomorrow), the Switch+Switch Lite sold more than 1.35m systems in the United States in the period of November 1 - 28. The Switch fended off competition from new console families from Microsoft and Sony, though it is possible that one or both of these may end up being the top seller by the NPD's usual revenue rankings.

Smash Bros Ultimate's 9th DLC character is going to be revealed at an alleged awards show.

Nintendo have confirmed the reveal of the next character from Fighter's Pass 2 will be held tonight at "The Game Awards". The show itself begins with a pregame event at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Persona 5 Strikers Officially Launching February 23 Switch

The worst kept secret on the Switch is now official.

Atlus have confirmed the official release date of Persona 5 Strikers (aka Persona 5 Scramble) is February 23, as originally released in a trailer left unlisted Thursday evening.

Preorders open digitally at 7 pm PT Thursday, and GameStop (US) will offer a steelbook and a Joker pin in separate preorder bonuses.

When you're competing with $120 for DQXI + over 9000 other games for a year, a drop is inevitable.

Nintendo has implemented price drops on two of their games published in 2019.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Dragon Quest XI S have both had their MSRPs in North America lowered from $59.99 US / $79.99 Canadian to $49.99 US / $64.99 Canadian. This drop takes effect today.

This week's downloads are apparently brought to us by Ocam's Razor, as a light release schedule points to everyone clearing out of the way of a certain game Keanu Reeves got paid beaucoup de bucks to appear in.
