The folks behind everyone's favorite May expo change their name to the Entertainment Software Association

Even in the midst of fighting battles that seek to limit the sales of violent video games, the International Digital Software Association (IDSA) has undertaken a name change. The organization will now be called the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), and has a new website at http://www.theesa.com.

This week's movie shows off a snip the mysterious story mode. You'll see the mystery when you download the movie.

The official F-Zero website has updated again. As a service to you, the readers, we're telling you all the juicy details about the new items added to the site.

The big update can be found on the GX game page, in the form of a story mode teaser. The movie shows off Black Shadow in a side-by-side race with an as-of-yet unknown pilot. The Black Bull crashes, and the mystery man comes up and threatens Shadow. Quite interesting.

After months and months of uncertianity and waiting, owners of the Panasonic Q can now breathe a huge sigh of relief -- the Panasonic Q Game Boy Player has been given a release date and a price. If you still have any doubts about this game, then two new movies will probably change your mind in a heartbeat.

When the game was first revealed, some doubters complained about the tweaking of the combat system and sense of speed would be bad for the game. Perhaps Acclaim has realized that people still feel this way, so they've released two new movies: One showcasing the weaponry, and one showing off the sense of speed.

Nintendo is giving away 1000 of these babies in a contest, so you'd better high-tail it to Japan if you want one.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the launch of the original Famicom (which we all know and love as the Nintendo Entertainment System), Nintendo is holding a contest to give out special limited edition GBA SP systems to 1,000 lucky Japanese. Holy X-Files, Batman! Adam West and David Duchovny are added to the voice cast of this anticipated shooter.

XIII is the cel-shaded first-person shooter that everyone's talking about, and for good reason. The game's presentation has it pass off for a real-life comic book.

Mario & Zelda Big Band Live Concert

This fall, Nintendo will be holding a concert performed by two bands, with guests Shigeru Miyamoto, Koji Kondo, and the Nintendo Sound Staff.

On September 14th, Nintendo will be holding the "Mario & Zelda Big Band Live Concert" at the Tokyo Seinen-kan Large Hall. Two bands, Tokyo Cuban Boys Jr. (Big Band of Rogues) and Yoshihiro Arita with his band, will be performing select songs from the Mario and Zelda games. Not that you need any help buying the game or anything, but you can view Nintendo's Japanese push now.

The F-Zero website has been updating virtually everyday now (the Japanese side, that is) with character and machine profiles, new tracks, AX-GX transfer info, and movies.

With today's update Sega and Nintendo have posted the Japanese commercial for F-Zero GX. There are some flashes of new story mode footage, but other than that, it's about what you'd expect from a commercial about the game.

Sega Development Teams Reorganizing

Nine minus four plus two equals seven. Sega hopes this is the winning forumla for making more games.

Lately, Sega has been looking for others to bail itself out of the financial mess it has got itself into. However, a report out of Bloomberg's Japanese website is stating that its nine development studios will soon be in the middle of a reorganization, a sign that Sega is taking action to right the ship itself.
