Square Enix Officially Announces Chrono Trigger DS

The rerelease of the classic title will feature touch screen functionality, wireless play mode, and a new dungeon.

Square Enix announced today, following the overseas rumblings from yesterday that Chrono Trigger is officially coming to the Nintendo DS.

The enhanced rerelease of the classic title will receive unique DS features, including a dual screen display and touch screen functionality. Additionally, the title will introduce a wireless play mode and a brand new dungeon, of which no details are currently known.

North American fans of the classic masterpiece can expect the game this holiday season.

Wow, and they aren't even doing the whole 3D remake thing?

Thank god.

Chrono Trigger Resurrection would be the only way I'd think a 3D version would work. The art style in Chrono Trigger is a lot different than the Final Fantasys of that era.
Although, this is probably just Square baiting us like when they had the FFIV Advance and now the 3D DS Remake. This will come out everywhere by next year and then we'll see the 3D remake in 3-4 years.

LOL Well I guess that's a matter of opinion.  Does Dragon Ball Z look good in 3d to you?  If it does that your good, because thats the same artist.

Indeed, Square's engineers managed to inser the word "enix" into the port's titles and menus.  They're really outdoing themselves today.
