This is a Zelda game. Of course they're going to localize it.
I dunno...they cut Tetra's Trackers from the U.S. version of 4 Swords Adventures, remember?

"I dunno...they cut Tetra's Trackers from the U.S. version of 4 Swords Adventures, remember?"

Yeah but wasn't the excuse that the game was so dependant on verbal commands from Tetra that it made for a hard translation?  That's a pretty flimsy excuse but there was some reason given.  Aside from BS Zelda I can't think of any other Zelda game to not make it here.

(Very minor *SPOILERS* for Tetra's Trackers are contained below)

Tetra's Trackers, a fun game, was cut from all non-Japanese releases of the game.

Coming from someone who played it (and it is *quite* fun, I must say) - the game is very dependent on the commands that Tetra, Sue Bella and King of the Red Lions give you - in fact, had it not been for a rough translation guide for the game (over at GameFAQs.com) I would have been quite stumped as to what to do (since I speak/read absolutly *no* Japanese).

But... I don't see any reason as to why the game couldn't have been translated - it's not like the game was heavily dependent on the Japanese culture or some such.  No, I think the reason that the game wasn't brought over to the US was because NoA didn't want to commit the resources to translating the game since... well... Let's put it this way, while I enjoyed it as a fun destraction, most of y'all probably wouldn't have.  It's not Zelda in any way, shape or form and is very much a "party game" or such.  It's a race/competition with Link as the main character - and that's pretty much it.

Hmm, if I recall they *did* localize Tetra's trackers but, like Tingle, it was so goofy and annoying that everyone who played it made fun of it.

I could be misremembering though, I can't find the source.

It was my understanding that large parts of it were localized - but the entire game was not.
I believe at one year's E3, a demo was running where Tetra called players by Mr. or Ms. [insert letter here]  (i.e.: "Ms. R" or "Mr. T").  However, it was also my understanding that the game was fairly poorly received at E3 - which would explain the why NoA didn't want to commit the resources on further work to translate the title....

I'll bet that Nintendo is just amking a game that's silly, ridiculous(sp?), and lol funny. Mario&Luigi was pretty funny, I HAVE FURY!!!!11 so I'll bet that it'll just be like watching a really funny cartoon.

I was in the shower thinking about this (yes, I'm a sick, sick man) and had to come and post my two ideas for the game...

First off, the game comes with a Credit Card e-Reader.  When playing, everytime that you/Tingle discover a map, you have to swipe a credit card and Tingle charges you $398 to use the map.  Oh, and you *need* the maps in order to finish the game.

Second, the commerical.  Picture a busy New York-esque street corner with tons of people walking by.  Music playing in the background is something along the lines of the Wind Mill Man in OoT.  Standing still on the corner is a man in a Tingle outfit.  He stands there, absolutly still for about 10-15 seconds.

...

Then the announcer says "Go ahead, you know you want to touch him." - Key some action shots from the game - "Battle alongside Tingle and friends in this awesome new adventure - journey through 12 different levels on a quest to resuce Knuckle from the evil clutches of the Anti-Faries - use the touch screen to activate unique items like the Tingle Balloon and the Tingle Fish in order to destroy countless hordes of evil minions.  Only in Tingle's RPG - and only on the Nintendo DS." - Cut back to creepy Tingle Guy - "Come on, don't keep him waiting."

It's Hymn Of The Storm. I like the feeling of despair and futility.

Eh? I thought it was called "Song of Storms." Actually, I'm sure it is...it's my favourite song in OoT by far, maybe even in any game I've played.
"I used to sell furniture for a living. The trouble was, it was my own."
---------------------------------------------
"If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either."

"If it weren't for electricity we'd all be watching television by the candlelig

KDR lives in Germany, perhaps that explains it

Anyway, the Song of Storms is really an awesome song, one of my favorite game songs of all-time.  "I like the feeling of despair and futility. "  That's the perfect description of the song, hearing it's just like, "Life....sucks...."

Majora's Mask OST CD1, Track 17: Hymn Of Storm. Perhaps NoE renamed it but the Engrish (should be "The Storm") suggests otherwise.

Tetra trackers wasnt that deep
All you had to do is go to the proper flag man (timing for bonus) and collect powerup's
I beat the first 10 or so stages then got bored, my mate beat it totally by collecting all the maps

While it isn't that deep, when Tetra is yelling at me because something is going on, It gets confusing.  The guide explained all the special events along with every other minor thing that a normal Japanese person would understand.

Also, KotRL is creepy when he's yelling about.

Tingle is actually a demigod trapped in an immensely fruity form.

How else can we explain the fact that he was alive during both MM and WW?
