The opening salvo includes three of the system's big guns.

North America's Virtual Console is adding another system back from the Wii.

TurboGrafx-16 titles, first revealed in ESRB ratings a few months ago, will come to the Wii U's Virtual Console tomorrow with the releases of Bonk's Adventure, R-Type and New Adventure Island. Much like the Wii pricing, the games will employ variable pricing as Bonk and Adventure Island will be $5.99 US while R-Type will be $7.99 US / $11.29 Canadian according to Nintendo's games list.

Although all three titles were on the Wii's Virtual Console, the status of the upgrade program as with NES and Super Nintendo titles has yet to be announced.

I'm up for R-Type if it comes to PAL.

And still not on the 3DS like they promised when they first announced the eShop.

I've never played a TurboGrafx game. Are any of those 3 really good for someone that doesn't have nostalgia for them?

A little late to the game. Hopefully the NX picks up and keeps running with the Wii U's eShop next year, because it's still missing a ton of games... not the least of which is Contra.

I know. It's not like the exchange rate of money is different for various country's currencies or that one country will have a bigger population than another allowing for more or less money to be made in it. It just makes no sense!

**** Yeah

This is amazing since it means that when the Wii Virtual Console eventually shuts down, these games will continue to exist on future Nintendo systems as well.  The TurboGrafx has a great lineup of games that's get overlooked since it failed in the West so it's nice that future generations will be able to have easy access to them as well.

New Adventure Island is great and still hold up very well.  Bonk's Adventure is good but kind of dated at parts so enjoyment by vary depending on your views.  R-Type is good if you're a huge fan of older arcade shooters but be warned it's extremely brutal in difficulty and you have no continues so it can get pretty frustrating unless you're really into this type of game.

Nobody's currency goes up or down 9% at a time (well, unless you're in the middle of Brexiting), so the rate itself isn't the problem; somebody made a conscious decision to set the CAD price way above actual market value. The current rate is 0.7726, and in order for it to actually be a fair exchange, it would need to plummet to 0.7077. And volume of sales is literally irrelevant; money is money is money, ESPECIALLY when there's no shipping around of actual goods. At least with physical medium you can write it off to duty/shipping/border costs. When it's all virtual, you lose that excuse.

If you're going to try and be a snide little twit, at least make sure your argument is somewhat grounded in reality.
