Figured this'd be a good place for everyone to share their fancy or stylish desktop backgrounds. I have about thirty wallpapers that rotate on shuffle every five minutes, but this is the one I have right now:

As you can see, I'm a fan of a minimalist desktop. I even got rid of the toolbar because I find it so very ugly.

I tend to pick a background based on a game I'm currently playing or, barring that, the last game I played where I thought the wallpaper was especially decent. I tend to go for calming darker backgrounds that are either black or blue in coloring, which also allows standard windows text to be easily read. So that being said...

You can definitely find larger versions of that image online with a simple "Last Story Wallpaper" Google search. The forum software started glitching when I tried to post the larger size I use for my desktop, so I posted a smaller one.

I remember a older topic like this on here when looking back on the forum. In any case I have a Rarity background for one reason at the moment and that is till the VA gets on Twitter. Here is my current one of her.

See, back in the day, having a wallpaper set would actually slow your computer down. If you had a slow computer to begin with, it really sucked.

I've never been one to set wallpapers ever since those days.

Before it was a fan wallpaper for the game FTL. Anybody who has played FTL understands this.

And before that were some fantastic Xenoblade wallpapers but nowhere as fancy as that animated background...

That Ron Swanson wallpaper is terribly ironic. Also, how many icons and background services do you need?!?

This is the same wallpaper I have been using since about 2001 I think. I made it myself using MS Paint. I actually have an acrylic painting of the same image that I made but when I take a digital photo of it, you can't tell much difference from the digital one anyways. I will be using this until the end of time. It is also my Facebook front page banner too, shows how original I am.

Edit: I figure I oughta contribute. I love some of the pics posted here, but I really have difficulty using complex images as my background, largely because I'm a MESS when it comes to having 4,5,6 or even 7 rows of Windows icons on the screen. I've got 3.5 rows on my screen right now and honestly, I feel really proud of how clean it is... ^_^

Anyways, this is a background I accidentally discovered ages ago. I found the original image here and, wanting a black background, used MSPaint to BRUTALIZE it, then STRETCHING it into my current computer's full resolution, resulting in the following image (I'm too embarassed to show my aforementioned rows upon rows of icons):

Honestly, this is far from the original work but I love it. I love the sort of digital-industrial-distressing that happened when I paint-bucketed the Black but purple remained. I love the random Purple stripe along the left. And the font turned out neat even though it was stretched too! Gah, I gotta e-mail this artist again and offer to remunerate him somehow. I've gotten years of mileage out of this background and I ought to give back... especially seeing as how I've been such a philistine with his original work.

um I am not sure how to take that, there was a guy whose name was therat, and there was me, I went by several different name changes but my sig always said to call me THE RAT. But I have grown up since then and learned how to spell.

My image I just made that one day in PAINT when I was bored. I bought some acrylic paints and made a hand painted duplicate that I hanged on my wall.

I'm not a fan of the art style. Sly looks like a blue cat with whiskers now and Murray just looks weird in general, but I thought that trailer really captured the motion and energy of the Sly characters well. So yeah, I have my issues with that trailer, but overall I thought it was a pretty well-done trailer.
