i just finished watching the third movie. i knew Nightcrawler wasnt going to be in it but i dont want to play that damn game to find out why. can anyone who has played the game PM me or something and let me know becuase he is one of my favorite xmen and it just bugs me so much he wasn't in the movie.

oh and as for the movie, didnt you think that the part when im just kidding i wouldnt spoil anything for ya was so cool!?!?

I had a few problems with this movie that were pretty glaring, like Cyclops exploding from his own energy, of which is HE IS IMMUNE, HELLO!, but it was alright as an action flick, if a bit melodramatic, even for a comic book movie.

This one was good, I liked it better than the first one, but dynamic of the movie felt off.

Killing off certain characters just left holes in the rest of the film, IMO

ViewtifulGamer, that wasn't what happened. It was the same thing that happended to */ that guy /* in the house. They just didn't show it happen because of the suspense.

Or because maybe he didn't actually die, it happens off camera after all so if they want to write him into future movies it shouldn't be too hard... but yes, to make it clear, it was not from his own energy that he was supposed to meet his end.

How could that have been it? She wasn't using telekinetic powers to blow him away like Prof. X. There was a build-up of energy in his body due to Jean Grey's blocking it, and because of that, he blew up. I'd link to the Ain't It Cool News article that has the script in it, but I can't find it at the moment.

watched it last night

it was just bleh........many plotholes and such they so ruined the phoenix character......not even the fire wings T_T

I still like the second one a lot more, I liked the first one as well, but it's a lot slower...

If you go by comic continuity, Scott has had his powers held in before. And he is immune to his own, just as he is immune to his brother's powers.

If you noticed when they were kissing, their was a draining like effect from Scott to Jean, looked similar to what Rogue does. What that was inferring, I'm not sure, but most certainly he did not pop due to his powers.

But since the effect on the professor was also used on soldiers and other mutants I'd say the best bet was Scott was oblitertated. The second best assumption would be Scott was sparred somehow. Though the actor won't be back unless Bryan Singer hops back on board.

The end of the movie was epic as I thought it should be but the rest of it felt a bit rushed. The movie should have been 30mins longer to fill out some of the lesser known charecters and some plot holes. All in all it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after Bryan left to do SuperMan. I would have loved to see his vision for X3, X1 and 2 had better pacing. I will give X3 credit for having better fights overall( Nightcralwer in X2 is still the best fight ever).

Better than the first one but X2 is the "Empire" of the trilogy.

Did you guys stay for the "ending" after the credits?

The final 20 seconds of the film after the credits was a surprise. I totally forgot about the mentioning of the body at the beginning. But I figured something was up when he gave a smile and a wink.

Just got back from the movie. I would like to respond to this with the fact that just because comic-Cyclops is immune to his own energy it doesn't mean that movie-Cyclops is also immune to his own energy. You can't treat the two as the same. It's like how comic-Pheniox is some kind of weird alien-clone-ish thing of Jean Grey and movie-Pheniox is Jean Grey's evil alter-ego-multiple-personality or how comic-Spider-Man builds his webshooters and has to brew his own webfluid but movie-Spider-Man has organic webshooters.

I recommend renting the game if possible. I heard it is really short and fairly easy to finish. I have no desire to play the game and don't care enough about why Nightcrawler wasn't there. Or Gamefaqs.com will have the whole game outlined soon enough.

I just saw it and thought it was nice, but it could have been so much more.

The real problem with the X-Men movies is the sheer number of characters, theres just too many so at the end you really would have prefered if they extended the movie to explore the characters more, oh and rogue and mystique losing their powers, that pissed me off, they are the best! good thing it looks like is only temporary

I suppose Im starting to dislike superman returns now, without it and the pressure to get x-men before it the director would'nt had left the project and the movie would have more time invested, I feel so many plotlines incomplete or undeveloped.

And I knew about the bonus at the end of the credits but the idiots at my theater cut them before they finished.

ohhh....I see, so basically, he threw all the ethics through the window.......interesting nevertheless....

and with this and the vague hints that the cure is only temporary, it's pretty obvious they set it up for a possible sequel just in case.......maybe Scott returns too? XD (they killed/got rid of the powers of way too many important characters....)

No one can say there there will not be a fourth X-Men movie.

Remember, after the second Planet of the Apes movie, everyone involved said there wasn't going to be another movie - in fact, the movie was written in such a way that there absolutly could *not* be another movie.

Except for the three direct follow-ups, the television show, the cartoon and the remake, that is.

It's all about how much money the studio thinks they can make...

Indeed, and the ending (both normal and after credits) were only done to hint for a sequel, why put those scenes in the first place if this is "the last one"? Here Im hoping for a proper pyro/iceman battle because this one was terribly lame.

They already signed on actors for a 4th and 5th. They stated they would make more if this one was succesful, and seeing as hot it has enjoyed the 4th largest opening ever there is no way Fox is going to pass up making more.

I actually liked the sequence with Juggernaut and Kitty Pryde. My main gripe is how Magneto can have a couple hundred guys under his command while there are only six X-Men - half of whom are underage.

I have a possible scenario for a sequel that would return those that are presumed to be dead.
A whole lot of whiat if's:What if professor Xavier isn't actually dead but is just using his intense psychic powers to channel himself through the comatose patient und Dr. Moira's care.

What if everyone that was semmingly obliterated was actually transfered or teleported to an alternate plane of existence that is somehow still connected to ours. That would cause a loop-hole allowing them to not only return civilains to their families, but bring back Cyclops and Prof. X.

Now I just got back from the movie and I can honestly say that it was alot better than I was expecting. Some nice action and intense scenes, but a lot of missed opportunity to really highlight some of the other mutants that played a role, such as Multiple Man & Collosus for example. The scene with Wolverine vs Phoenix at the end was very nice, but I think we all know Phoenix must rise from her grave and walk this earth again under the control of Jean Grey. X4 WILL happen, its just a matter of when, not if.

Anybody know the whole story between Singer leaving for Superman and (actor that played)Cyclops leaving too?

The original Superman movie was the reason Bryan Singer got in the movie business. I do not have a link to that info, though I'm sure I read about it on IGN. So Bryan turned down X-Men 3 for Superman for obvious reasons. James Marsden just has a tremendous amount of respect for Bryan and was offered a job on Superman.

I thought his position would be that it would be wrong, and an abuse of power, and all that, before he was interrupted...but , the ending made me change my mind. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would go against his own morals.

Damn it, Bryan Singer and the old scriptwriters should have been doing this one. I liked X1 and loved X2, and in comparison to those, this fails on so many levels. They basically gutted the heart of the story and replaced it with a bunch of unneccesary SFX mumbo-jumbo. Did they really have to set Worthington Labs on Alcatraz? Or even involve Angel in the plot at all? Not to mention that whole stupid, pointless scene with the Golden Gate bridge.

Meanwhile, Jean, whose SUPPOSED to be the star of this show, does basically nothing except get angry once in a while. The movie's explanation of what the Phoenix force is is inconsistent with itself and rings hollow, and was CLEARLY dumbed down for the general populace. The movie score and production design were generic at best. Character development is basically nil. Don't get me started with the inconsistency of the character deaths with the end of the movie - which send conflicting messages and leave us without closure. The only strong suit in the movie is probably Wolverine, and the previews (for Superman Returns...let's see what he'll do with that one.)

anywho, i saw the movie a second time becuase...well..the Omen was sold out. i sat thru the credits this time to see that extra scene but i noticed something (in the credits). pyslocke(sp?) was in the movie...who the hell was she!??!

From what I got, the only appearance of her showing her powers is she being camouflaged against a wall and poping out at the doctors who were running away of the mutant attack to alcatraz, and the guy with the spines and the other mutant with the waves thing also showing behind them.

Im not a follower of the comics, but I kind of suspect thats not what pyslocke does.

ugh...thats who i figured it was but i was hoping it was something cooler that i missed so i wouldnt be so dissaopinted. seeing it a second time just infuriates me more lol...damn you new director guy!

edit- i didnt follow the comics like a diehard fan or anything, but i read them on occasion and was really into the x-men at one point when i was younger, loved the cartoon adn all that, but its been awhile. i had to look up a lil bio on her just to make sure they screwed her royally, and yeah...they did.
