hey hey hey.

thanx heaps for the hospitalities, not to mention excellent drink service on saturday lance. if i had a few dudes off the net at my house playing games, i'd be thinking, "soooo, i wonder which of these guys is gonna try and steal some of my games? whats the deal with this old bearded dude dropping corn chips on the floor and on himself".

oh and by the way. termin8's post wasnt exactly accurate. you see, i think you'll find that the night was a non-stop grand display of my owning power. ESPECIALLY in smash bros where i never lost. although i must note that chris showed great valour and always came a CLOSE second.

i think the best part of the night was when i caught the train home at 6 or 7 or 8 or whatever the time it  was in the morning and eating a discusting vending machine cookie on the station and feeling the frostbite set into my face and hands. mmmmmm, love that feeling. especially when you havent slept, and the train ride takes about half an hour or more, and then you have to walk from the station and then you get home and your dog tries to lick your face and then your whole family's up and making noise and the sun is shining and then you sleep for 3 hours and wake up cause someones called for you and you go back to sleep and wake up and go to your friends place and hire out some more games and play burnout 2 and you have to have a shot of tequila if you dont get a high enough score and if you lose 3 times you have to drink a glass of cheap wine and your whooping ASSSSSSSSSSSS but the you hit a losing streak and then next thing you know your heads sinking between the cushions and you cant go on and you crack open another beer but you cant bring yourself to drink it and you open up the sofa bed and crash and wake up cause the computer in the room has msn running and it goes "DOONG" cause someone signed in or something and you get up and ride your girly pink bike with your phat 80's stack hat and go to maccas and eat some lard in a bun and get home and write a post.

this is joeyjojo singing off.

i went in to work today and checked the roster. im NOT working this saturday. this means i will be getting hella blotto on friday. my friend's going to the navy so i think ill burn a bunch of sea shantys to play at the party.

are you guys down for saturday night? whenever we do it, i reckon we should also bring gameboys to play zelda or f-zero or mario bros or whatever.

heyheyhey

well, i might be reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally hungover on saturday because of my friends going away partay. or, i may not cause i think i have work saturday morning. BUT, saturday night sounds good  for me to own yall in smash bruddaz. i told kirby about the whole affair and hes quite convinced that he will be delivering an unending barrage of crushing defeats to all that oppose him. hes even a little edgy around me.

i saw "fat pizza" today. i recommend it to anyone who is already a fan of pizza. its has some really funny moments. although i kinda thought that if youre gonna make a movie, you should make it perfect so its well balanced and has a lot of laughs. maybe my standards are too high.

i got the gameboy/gamecube cable today. and for 20 bux, i think its a good buy. sort of. i hooked metroid fusion up to prime and unlocked nes metroid and the fusion suit. these bonuses were really the sprinkling on the cherry on top of the icing on the cake. ive played nes metroid before but its cool to be able to have it ready to play anytime, and being able to restart from a save rather than a password.
i think the cable will really come into its element once ive got animal forest and also zelda.

oh man, im hung over as a mofo... not so hung over that im unable to play prime of course...
i like your posters piac. noice. oh yeah, that wasnt me on msn yesterday saying, "im taking off my pants now..." or what ever the funk it was. i was playing some cube while my mate was using my msn. subsequently he destroyed whatever reputation i may have had with all my contacts.

hmmm. did anyone see that movie, "you cant stop the murders" ? i really wanted to go and see it but i put it off and its not playing anymore.

yeah. what IS up with Harvery Norman? They never have a game on its release, or anywhere near its release for that matter. I usually go to EB but Ive recently discovered Toys r Us is tha BOMB! i got metroid the day after it came out. it had sold out at EB, but alot of people overlook toys r us who seem to always have the goods on time aswell...
So you got starfox termin8 ayyyy? i dont think theres anyway i could help you with that bit, but dont you think it sucks that you have to keep your eye on the little meter while all of the action is going on? and DAMN, its some pretty action too.
personally i wasnt a big fan of SFA. there was just something missing, like difficulty. or maybe "that loving feeling".

termin8: i live in killara, (a few stations up from chatswood)

another thing, do any of you chat on icq, cause i would really like to be able to discuss games with other aussies. unfortunately, all of my best mates own ps2's so i have sh*t all to talk to them about. especially since they are hardly as keen on games as i am.

termin8, nice article man. i felt kinda dumb after i read it because i really should have gone. i had no idea they were going to be giving away all those bits and pieces.

anyway, is anyone in sydney interested in having a gamecube comp? we could get like, 20 people or so, and have some epic smash bros tournaments or something. you could even put money and whoever won would walk away with enough money to buy themself a game or something. i dunno.... i guess people wouldnt feel very comfortable having a bunch of perfect strangers, not to mention gamecube fanatics in their home. but, still, its an idea.

while playing star fox i felt like i was just playing a cheap ripoff of zelda. the fighting was boring, the graphics were great (what a waste), the story was averagebla bla bla bla. i couldnt be bothered. IMO, it was a zelda game for kids. im sure my young cousins could breeze through it.
I dont really have any problems with the whole "star fox" theme being used. i mean, evidently its not a star fox game. does anyone care that fox is in smash brothers? "oh my god! fox doesnt fight! he flys a spaceship!".
the only thing in the game that impressed me in SFA was the graphics. the music was quite good too. this game was much too simplistic in all areas. and what was with the shop? when you get money, you could go into the shop and buy nearly every item and that was the end of the shop for the game. what was the point. and also the cheat tokens!
rare went out with a shallow and heavily "borrowed" game.

Nintendo Gaming / Still Smashing?
« on: March 24, 2003, 03:45:52 PM »
hell yeah im still smashing!
id have to say that although smash bros was one of my first games and i have since got many more, it is definately my overall favourite. and it still surprises me! theres so much attention to detail, in and out of battles. i was never really a big fan of the one player normal mode cause it seemed a bit strange compared to "regular" fighters. but lately ive been playing it a lot and i dare say, whooping asssss.
props to hal!!!
and oh yeah, if theres any ladies or gents in sydney who think they can beat me, bring it!

NWR Feedback / polls
« on: March 18, 2003, 03:51:09 PM »
every time i check into the gamecube discussion or mario universe etc. theres always a couple of new polls that have popped up. since theres obviously a lot of people who are interested in hearing about the gaming habits of other gamecube owners, why not have a section that is dedicated to polls? and then (hopefully) the only discussions being posted in the regular sections would be threads that have some productive value. i mean, i dont think that everyone who comes here is going to be able to take a point of interest and turn it into a debate or whatever you want them to do.

Nintendo Gaming / monkeyball 2 in oz
« on: March 18, 2003, 02:44:06 AM »
well, id have to say that smb2 is a pretty impressive package. i mean, it has a story mode, normal mode, and 8 party games that you can play without having to unlock them, as well as that theres 8 that you will have to unlock. (im sure you already know this from reading about it)
the new styles of bowling jumped out at me the most when playing the updated party games, even though it was not my favourite in the original.
so far i have mixed feelings about the normal mode levels. im sure it will be better when i get to later levels, but at the moment i have done a bunch of levels where, at the start you will have to travel along for a little bit before you get to the actual action, and then youre not really presented with a challenge. this makes me think that they made the level and then thought, "this isnt going to cut it", and added a bit of distance between the starting point and the action to justify the level. but not to fear, i think this is just a different approach for making the beginning levels easy. i have got to some nice and hard levels which have been great.          i cant wait to unlock all the minigames!
as for resident evil 0, i loving it. the new item system and swapping between players are great additions and work very well. and DAMN, this game is gorgeous man! the only thing that sucks is that after playing resident evil, its not such a scary experience playing RE0. i walk into a room and i just know that something is going to jump out at me. but i havent been playing for THAT long so theres plenty of scares to come i guess. im beginning to feel the intrigue of the story drawing me in. i think im gonna go and play now.

sweet! called up a few smaller game stores and found one that had a copy. now my only problem is dividing my time between eternal darkness, RE0 and monkeyball 2.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo's regional differences

i read a review of super mario sunshine from the USA before it came out in OZ. they mentioned that they were dissapointed by the frame rate and that when you fought bowser, the frame rate, "took a turn for the worst". when it came out here i picked it up and i observed a perfectly healthy framerate throughout the game and it certainly didnt drop in the final battle.

General Gaming / Why do nintendo fans hate Xbox so much?
« on: March 10, 2003, 01:28:16 AM »
i dont particularly care. but i dont know about their marketing strategies. such as the flash animation on the xbox site that blatantly makes fun of super mario sunshine (when its a great game). it seemed like a rather immature stunt.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA vs GBA SP
« on: March 06, 2003, 03:33:57 AM »
im chuckin in my 2 cents before i hit the sack.
i was at eb tonight and this guy tried to sell me an SP.  i took it off him and held it and checked it out. but i sure aint giving him $50, my GBA, and a couple of games to have it. i dont think its really overwhelmingly better than GBA. im not hating on it but i think my GBA is more comfortable (and has its OWN headphone jack which i dont have to fork over any MORE cash for).  yeah, the SP looks cool, its smaller and has a light and centralised speaker. im not quite sold though.  the end

ps. please dont post a message telling me how wrong i am. it scares me.

Because you say so, huh? Did you ever think some people might have got bored with the GTA series after GTA2? The games are pretty much all the same. People talk about how it's disappointing that sports games like Madden have minimal upgrades in each new game, GTA is the same really.

whoa. its getting pretty political and argumentative in here! but i will jump on the quoting bandwagon just to say that ive played gta1,2 &3 and i was really impressed by the way it was brought to life in 3d. i found that all these gameplay elements, esp. control, graphics (the city is so big and well made), story, and sound (the radio is excellent) came together so well. it all worked very well together and this has made it a memorable game. this is what i think of the game. im not attempting to persuade anyone to like it!
Hey! thanks for the compliment Infernal!
