"Except that if I'm interpreting the joke correctly, it makes no factual sense."

hehe,    over the head..

This is most definatly a play on their factual battles in history that involved giant crabs... .(did ya forget?)

So, for a company taking a jab at itself.. they got some brownie points with that.  The WWI joke was awesome.

General Gaming / Re: Microsoft's Project Natal
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:22:56 AM »
hey now, lets not forget that one day.  when the project actually comes out, it will be old hat.   Its kinda like the Halo story.. That game was close to 5 years old by the time they got it to market.   I remember when it was the MAC dream game that was going to switch everything around for gaming on the mac (well at least until it got ported to a pc).

Natal if used correctly could be fun, but I think that tech should really be put off by 2 console releases.   By that time, homes should have the 3d tvs in a much wider range across the US and natal would sync very nicely with that.  A very close step to a holodeck like performance.

The records section..   How many reports is nintendo going to see "Usb Loader" lauches and channel time.

eheheh

Maybe it will actually get nintendo to make the actually usb hd support the originally announced with the revolution.   Because really, I have never liked the idea of a disc spinning systems.  The only one I have that still works is a great 1x speed Turbo Duo

I don't know about that, it is possible so I will change that a bit..

I am glad that Developers are now getting out these retro rebirths as the collection of wiiware games themselves are ok with a few excellent choices.  The re-addition of old is new again titles is a nice compliment to the ever expanding service that Nintendo provides to its consumers.

Hows that?

TalkBack / Re: Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Sell 1.5 Million in Two Days
« on: September 15, 2009, 10:35:31 AM »
I am after Heartgold myself, I have always been on the "Red" Side of the games and I might as well continue that tradition.  Of course, if we follow patterns there with be a new crystal soon which mean inbetween we may actually see an updated Wii game in some form to compliment them.  The biggest issue with Platinum and Pokemon battle revolution is that the new forms are not supported (same with Ranch and platinum) so they get turned back into their original forms during battles.

I would say, next to the original Red, Gold was by far my favorite.  It was the only game in the series that actually offered new pokemon that were interesting.    Although, pearl did a good job too.

Didnt you know, black friday is second only to the day of sales after Christmas..

So, if they can actually advertise it. (which kleenex is good for) then they should be able to capture all those lost sales.

So its actually a good release date..  To bad for the kids wishlist though..

Bonk RUlez...

Its funny how it took one classic wiiware title like Megaman 9 for devs to figure out that the public wants retro...  good retro.

TalkBack / Re: Wii Price Drop in the First Week of October?
« on: September 12, 2009, 03:28:05 PM »
TO BNM:   Where does that put ps3 and 360? I believe that would make them the 2nd and 3rd players.. hence the struggle and the need to drop the price.   so a 200 and 300 dollar price drop is simply just trying to stay in the game for the next generation.

Looks like Mop is thinking the same way as me, nothing different just 20-30 dollars cheaper..

I dont want DVD playback, but with the growth of the media market and downloads, nintendo should just make a pc channel for media.   The homebrewers already have this, so why not just deliver it.  Streaming media through my consoles is the right move.  The industry has been pushing forward (computer industry btw) for the convergence of the home systems (read computer and tv).  If nintendo would release a media channel, it would satisfy my dvd and other media needs along with staying on the curve thats happening in the former comment.

Now, you want to see some fun colors on your wii for about 2 dollars max..   Go out, buy the 3d glasses for crayola chalk paint and enjoy.

Lets not forget that Nintendo is a big fan of the 29$ adjusted range in the United States.   For a price drop that doesnt change anything, I could easily see a wii price of 229 then have a following up a month later with new colors.  That way they can tap the slightly cheaper market, and then drive the demand a month later with new colors.

a 50 price drop would be to dramatic for the wii.  Its selling and they would be chopping off limbs at the rate of a 50 dollar drop.  A 50 dollar price drop is for floundering/failing consoles, and I am sure that Nintendo wouldnt want that image on the wii.

They should add a poll to the topic that has guesses on where people think the price point will be.  (not want)

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Best games on WiiWare?
« on: August 22, 2009, 09:27:14 PM »
Wow, you must feel ignored..  let me help!

Megaman 9 is by far the best title for myself on wiiware.  It was made in the N.E.S. tradition that offers the same gamplay you would expect from Megaman 2 frames and all.  Then you take the diffaculty of megaman you are used to and add a little Downloadable Content and achievments and you get a great game that is definatly worth the money.

World of Goo, I liked the game for its physics gameplay but lost interest after running through as many levels as I could too quickly.  If you get this game I would reccomend that you play it in stages as to not wear yourself out too quickly.

Tetris Online is a good adition to the library as it offers many modes and a solid effort of Tetris Online throughout the whole package.  Its a good game to get as you can come back from it again and again.

Bomberman Blast.. its bomberman from the years before and nothing has changed.  It would be a great addition to the library if anyone from NWR would actually play it.

Onslaught.  Its wiiwares first fps its okay, but it shouldnt be considered a FPS as the only thing you do is take on swarms of insects that come at you from around.  There are plenty of enemies on screen but then again, the online mode is just a point run and if you figureed out the system, all you have to do is charge forward and race to the end.  the number of enemies you face will be more and get you the points need to win a victory.

Final Fnatasy My life as king.  This is a managment game.  take diner dash and take away the frantic ness and just keep sending poeple (warriors) out again and again.  So while it is interesting at first, this game wares on you after about the 100th day.  IT becomes a monotonous form of entertainment that is okay to chek up ononce in a while.

Sorry for the mispellings, but for some reason the NWR poster freaks out for me after solong of a post and I cant tell what I am typing.

Thanks
J!m

actually, they have codes that circumvent the ban, and if people are cunning enough to get banned, i am sure they allready know their way around the mac ban.
