Yeah professional is right.  I already had a subscription, I just called them up, paid 20 bucks, they extended my subscription another year and told me they'd ship out the zelda disc right away....I'll get it in two weeks.  I personally think the zelda disc is worth the 20 bucks, especially if you are like me and you can't register your cube because its an import.  Nintendo Power is a fun magazine too.  Its not the greatest for news, but there are fun game enhancements like pokemon e cards, animal crossin codes, etc. that are always packaged in it.

You can't use the same pin twice.  If you could nintendo wouldn't have even bothered using pin numbers and we would be able to register all of our old games.

Its possible, though i'm not positive, that new information is stored in a cookie, so using the forum on multiple machines could be the cause of king vudu's issues....just a guess though.

Nah, i know plenty of people that make upwards of 150k a year and enjoy going on to random parts of nintendo forums and bragging about it.

Hell yeah...i've only played the first one thsu far but I'm still saving up for the second part.  It has some dry spots but the concept has so much potential, the story is great, and i LOVE the character design.  If bandai does this series right they could have one of their first respectable video game series that isn't just pushing some license.  (yes i know .hack is an anime, but ya know...)

Nintendo Gaming / RE: GAMECUBE IS TEH KIDDIEE!!!!!
« on: November 16, 2003, 11:28:34 AM »
Hell yeah.  I think all the nostalgia kicks ninty is on is definately pointing to the next console being backwards compatible.  To me it looks like they are trying to create the ultimate library of games.  Finally they must be realizing what the great game library is doing for the gba.  Also, the gameboy player points to my (and others) theory on the convergence of the two units in the next generation.  I for one would be glad to pay 300ish dollars every 5 years for a system upgrade and the potential of some better games, knowing that there is a massive library of *great* games there in my living room, and at all thsoe stores.  =)

As for gameboy player, my christmas list to my parents consists of 3 great imports...  the Q gameboy player, that hori controller, and warioware GC.... I hope they pull through for me.  =)

I to would love the gba one.  As for whats installed first...I'm not sure how i did it...:-/  If you really want to make sure nothing steals anything from the other, I would install the nintendo one with the regular one uninstalled, save the files you need, then uninstall the nintendo one, reinstall the regular one, and then transfer files...that my work better.

On a side note, i have had them disappear from the list in desktop properties a couple times.  I have no idea why this happens, but a simple solution I found it to take all the them folders out of the windowblinds directory, restart windowblinds (now nothing will be available in the desktop properties screen) then re copy the files and restart windowblinds again.  That seems to work for me.  Like i said, its very buggy and weird how it works, but I have mine working and I only had to do the re-copy think like twice so far.

You can't man, don't get yoru hopes up...supposeldy you can play 1 player with a gcn controller...but multiplayer requires a gba for each person..(including the first player).

Everyone fails to mention that if nintendo launches this early, in another 2 years the other two would come along then they would be the newest thing thus killing the new nintendo system.  I personally think the best business decision is to lauch within the same week of the other console and then have a hype war.  Nintendo could win a hype war if they nabbed some third party exclusives and put a mario and pokemon game along some sort of mature title.

Where do these people get their information...  According to that bloomberg article Nintendo plans on launching a new console in japan, next year....Uhmmm  Are they just confused?  It is bloomberg so you wouldn't expect them to make a blunder like this....

I just had to add this to a Halo thread....

I can't wait for an IGN review of Halo 2 to come out next year.  I hope fran does it....so then he can say that he thinks rehashing the same game only adding dual gun support is cool, but rehashing mario kart with dual driver support is stupid.    That will make for one comical day.

MK sucks because IGN gave DOA Porn Show a better score?  I hoep that was sarcasm as I'm sure it probably was....    But just in case it wasn't...don't let the freaking media tell you what is good!  =P

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario kart.....should I bother??
« on: November 12, 2003, 02:00:30 PM »
Basically, you know what it comes down to?

IGN is a FOR PROFIT business....

You can't let that bother you.  You just have to understand that, much to most of our dismay, gaming is becoming main stream.  As with anything that becomes main stream, the media must make the same hard fast rules about it.  It HAS to be violent.  It HAS to cause uproars.  It has to be all about sex.  The reason why IGN's reviews come out the way they do, is because they are catering to that audience.  To be honest, they know that all us nintendo/mario kart fans, are gonna look at the review and laugh.  But what they also know is that all those X-Box and PS2 fans are gonna be like..."hahahahha nintend is teh kiddie.  We's are the kewl ones because we like virtuallz titTiez."...... ok, maybe not that bad, but you get my point.  =P

Give the industry 2-3 more years, and ya know whtas gonna happen?  Its going to go back to the way it was before Microsoft hyped the industry out of control.  The corporate sites are gonna come back to the middle.  The fan sites will gain hits from the hard core fans because it will be harder for them to get their info.  The amount of developers in the world is going to decrease.  And everything will be happy in PGC land.  =P

It would be possible for Nintendo to make online gaming free of costs, and thats just by doing direct connections.  It would be more complicated for the user in that they would have to know the ip, and matchmaking wouldn't be there at all seeing as you would have to somehow communicate with someone and get their ip.  I would personally like this option, but nintendo would NEVER do it because think of the crappy reviews they would get then.

You really have to fudge it to get them to load in regular window blinds... because the nintendo them uses that funky dxthem file er something like that.... and the nintendo theme manager sucks cause its hard to make it load on startup...

Here is what I did, load the Nintendo theme manager and then load the theme.  It will then create the larger folder of all the different files within the them in the Nintendo theme manager directory somewhere on your drive.  Find that folder, then copy that within your objectdesktop/windowblinds themes folder.  The theme will then be selectable within windowblinds.  So repeat the process for each theme and then uninstall the nintendo theme manager.  That is what i did.  If anyone knows of a better way, throw it up here.

I too am still looking for the ED and GBA themes.

Honestly, i didn't even read the whole fricken IGN review.  I think it is proof of why nintendo is soooo tight lipped about most things.  I guarantee if IGN didn't know about the 2 racers per kart thing so long ago, they would have actually noticed that that is something new in the game and the score would have gone up to above a 9.  Its almost like they read about the dual racer thing so much they just started thinking it was in MK64.
