The whole design of galaxy makes it seem less "linear" and more "original" than anything else. The ability to run every-which-way around smaller planetary bodies and other objects leads to a lot of discovery that isn't necessarily as free-roaming of an experience as SM64 but very enjoyable none the less because it is so different than what we are used to in a typical Mario platformer.

The execution in the level design thus far is flawless =)

Also, the "shoot leg, shoot head" trick is back from RE4: if you shoot a zombie in the leg, they'll not only fall on their knees, but you'll be more likely to get a critical shot to the head while they're on their knees.

That's all I needed to hear to want to really want this game. Xmas purchase confirmed =D

I always feel bad for people who have upgrade problems. I guess I am "one of the lucky ones" and never ever had an issue upgrading OS X.

I've always done the standard "upgrade now" option. Never archive and install or a clean install regardless of what people recommend and nothing has gone wrong.

OS X 10.0 -> 10.1 -> 10.2 -> 10.3 on my iMac G4 then did a fireware transfer to my (then new) Power Mac G5 which then went trough an upgrade to 10.4 -> 10.5.

The moral of the story is, sh*t happens, it's technology and as good as any company can be I don't think any OS software has ever gone through a major upgrade with no issues across the board.

With that said, if anyone ever has fears of upgrading their OS on the Mac platform just wait till the first patch is released for said upgrade. Usually all the major kinks are worked out then.

Yeah I must say, the mix of "traditional" platforming is placed in the game so flawlessly that you really don't even notice the switch.

It all just flows well together.

Didn't Nintendo already address this? Something like "we realize games good games will sell any time of year" or something to that affect?

That's great to hear Kairon!

GP I just beat the second galaxy boss and I completely agree with you.

I also completely love the fact that already some classic Mario songs have come back. The Super Mario Bros. 3 stage music for the special stage "Sweet Sweet Galaxy" . . . or was it planet . . . w/e was fantastic. Bowsers remix from SM64 was also great.

So far all the stage designs are extremely fun and I'm having a blast =D

Edit: Oh and Koji Kondo and his team should be given an award for all the original music in this game so far. The best Mario music i've heard in a long long time.

General Chat / Fox makes Family Guy without Seth MacFarlane
« on: November 14, 2007, 06:56:19 AM »
"Family" feud afoot for Fox cartoon

Quote

Fox is producing fresh episodes of its animated comedy "Family Guy" without the participation of its striking creator Seth MacFarlane, who does many of the main voices, sources said.

The last episode completed before the Writers Guild of America strike began November 5 aired Sunday. Fox and sibling studio 20th Century Fox TV had the choice of going into reruns or continuing the show without MacFarlane, whose outspoken defiance of his employers has made him a cause celebre for striking writers.

After a large writers rally outside the Fox lot on Friday, where he was one of the speakers, MacFarlane said the studio could proceed without him, though he hoped it would not.

. . . . so wait . . . how the hell are they making family guy without him? Considering he is the voices for half the family (and many other characters).

Warning! Crappiest episodes ever approaching!

Lol I was wondering when someone would point that out.

Yeah, apparently "Mashiro" is more a females name than anything else in Japan. I believe bleach has a female characters named "Mashiro" as well who isn't a big part of the show but exists none the less.

In my defense though I used name long before I knew it was meant to be a girls name. It means "pure white" according to "jeff's japanese to english translator" and I used it for my WoW character because of the white hair he had.

. . .

or maybe I'm really a girl! I'll send everyone super sexy hawt pics if you guys send me Wii games <3
