GarageBand isn't expensive, it comes with every Mac and has for the past few years and if you don't have it or want the newest version it's $50 and comes with 4 other useful apps.

Are you saying MACS aren't expensive?

They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Watch this thread derail now.

I'm going to go a little off topic and talk a bit about Weezer in this System of a Down thread. I took vudu's advice and downloaded Pinkerton, and I enjoyed it, and unlike the first one I'm sure that I'll listen to it again. In the future I shall defer to vudu's judgment. If I stick to that I will almost certainly regret it.

I got it brand new sealed for $12 in a game clearance section at a K Mart. There was a lot of crap but a surprising amount of quality there.

Lancelot's too busy killing innocent wedding guests at the Swamp Castle to bother with this castle.

GameFAQs (the actual site, not one of the message boards) and Wii Ware World both have lists of what Wii Ware games are coming Monday, and they're both different. What are the odds that either of the lists is right?

GameFAQs: Dr. Mario Online RX, Everyone's Pokemon Ranch, Protothea
Wii Ware World: Dr. Mario Online RX, Toki Tori

Jimmy Jones

JIMMY JONES

J I M M Y   J O N E S

J - I - M - M - Y    J - O - N - E - S

This just sealed it, my mental image of Crimm is now Steven Root, the actor who played Jimmy James on the excellent show NewsRadio.

I wonder if that's something they'd do on the DS. Nintendo has said that they want to keep the main Fire Emblem series on consoles for now, but we're getting a remade old one on the DS, so maybe this is the kind of side story they might do on the DS.

One great thing this episode did is get me to buy an album by Jason Ricci and New Blood, something I've been toying around with for a while but this pushed me over the edge. I'm only 4 songs in but I'm loving it so far.

Like I said, I'm not usually very good at shmups. I'm improving at the first level, but I can't manage to get more than a couple shots at the boss before I get killed. The blue weapon is my favorite.

I hate color (or various other words) spelled with a "u", my mind pronounces it initially as "coloor", which is close enough to the Canadian pronunciation of out (oot) that it makes me laugh, which isn't always appropriate.

I never knew that Evan talks almost exactly like Conan O'Brien.

I wanted to tell Crimm that I bought Pop, I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I'm very glad I bought it.

I had some other comments, but I just listened to the entire thing in one marathon session (not what I intended to do, but I never felt like turning it off) and I think I may need a psychiatric evaluation, so I forgot most of them.

I got Super Star Soldier, and despite the fact that I'm dying a lot, I haven't been able to come close to beating the first level, and it's crazy fast and so hectic that sometimes I can't tell what's going on, I absolutely love it and am having huge amounts of fun playing it.

If the price of the stand-alone Rock Band drums is any indication you won't save that much money.

$50 plus $80 is $130, $60 savings off the $190 full price. I have no interest in vocals and I may buy another guitar but maybe not.

About damn time :P. It's amazing that this is only the 6th or 7th episode since I started listening to the show, and in that short amount of time I went from ignoring the podcast to going through withdrawl symptoms for the last couple days before the next one. I know I'll love this one, and here's to another 100!

If you want Tetris you should get the Wii Ware one that they said may include balance board support.

That's assuming those prices are real and not just GameStop estimates. Even if they are real, I think the price of the Wii version is more reasonable than the price of Wii Rock Band; it's $20 more but I would say it's got considerably more than $20 worth of features that Rock Band doesn't have on the Wii. Still pretty darn high though. Assuming they sell the instruments separately I may just buy the game and the drums and use my GH III guitar, and maybe buy the other stuff later.

Voice samples? Since when does NoE translate voices? Sure, there were one or two announcer changes in SSBM for the names of the Pokemon (which change in each country as they're pun based) but that doesn't constitute a full dubbing. The only Nintendo game with translated voice acting I've ever seen was Doshin The Giant.
To be fair, Nintendo isn't heavy on voice acting in general. About the only internally-developed game I can name off the top of my head with heavy voice acting is Starfox 64 (though I haven't played Command or Assault).

Did they really give a pass to translating those voices? How about Rare's various Nintendo-published games with voices, like Perfect Dark or (IIRC) Starfox Adventures?

Metroid Prime 3 may not have had a ton of dialogue, but as far as I can tell every line was spoken.

Is it really a spoiler if it's in the trailer? I haven't seen any of the movies in the series but all the talk about this one has convinced me to try them out.

System of a Down is pure crap. I used to like them, but then I actually listened to them, and threw away all their CDs and deleted all their music from my computer and iPod. Also, insanolord, you should get Pinkerton too, even though it's nothing like any of their other albums (they're actually ashamed of that album, from what I've read in interviews). Make Believe isn't all that great, but they're are a couple fantastic songs on that album (Perfect Situation and Such a Pity come to mind), Maladroit was better if you ask me.

Nothing like the other ones is good if it means nothing like the first one.

Probably something that's not inherently illegal would be best.

But then he's not a smuggler, but simply a courier. And couriers don't make the big money last I checked.

I'm pretty sure things can be smuggled that aren't necessarily illegal, just obtained illegally or something. He shouldn't smuggle drugs because those are always illegal, there's no legal way to have them so if someone finds them it's game over. Pick something else that someone would have to do more work than that to determine that it was illegal. It's probably not going to pay as much, but it's safer.

The read speed is all you need, the writing is all done to the save file which would still be on the internal memory.

There are so many different kinds of things to smuggle, he could just go with whatever works best. Probably something that's not inherently illegal would be best.
