A barebones, simple-to-use media player.

I'm pretty sure I saw that there was one of those on some Wii homebrew site. It may or may not be currently available to download. Just imagine, all the media you can fit on a 2 GB SD card. Take that, AppleTV.

Yeah but if GameStop did that then nobody would subscribe to GameInformer and they'd have to shut it down. Some people that work there probably have kids, GameStop wouldn't want to make so many families homeless.

I voted for both options, because what's better than all of UncleBob's posts? All of UncleBob's posts twice in a row.

Those cards suck because of the mandatory subscription to a subpar magazine. I got one, though, because the time I got it I was trading in a bunch of stuff and buying at least one used game and because of that the extra credit and savings was worth more than the price of the card. I figured it made sense if the card was going to pay for itself immediately after I bought it.

Samurai Shodown (NEO GEO, 900)
Burning Fight (NEO GEO, 900)
Pokemon Puzzle League (N64, 1000)

This is coming to USA right? If not hwo do I import VC games from UK?

The only way to do that is to import a British Wii. If it were any easier than that I'd have Vectorman, Mega Man, and several other great games Europe has that haven't come here yet by now.

I'm so glad that Pittsburgh won last night, maybe too glad if you ask anyone who saw me throw my arms up in the air in celebration of their first goal while I was on the treadmill at the gym. I was disappointed when my Flyers lost the Conference finals, but Pittsburgh is my second favorite and I would have given them a much better chance of beating Detroit. I can't wait until Saturday for game 4, especially since it will be the first time I get to see hockey in HD thanks to NBC HD being added to our cable over the weekend. Go Penguins! Get back in this series!

More and more programs are available for the Mac all the time, and I can run the ones that aren't in Windows via Parallels and I don't let that connect to the internet so I don't need anti-virus software. The best of both worlds.

Forgive me for being lazy but does it specifically say there that the wii version will have the create-a-track mode?

I only ask because everything i've read so far boast about GH4's features as a whole, then somewhere towards the end of the article it'll mention wii specifically with "wii will have DLC." I just really hope the create-a-track mode is there because i can see myself really really getting into it. I love anything with a "Creat-a" mode and this will be no different, hell i still pick up mario paint sometimes to mess with the music maker! If the wii version is gimped in this regard, and yet still has DLC, i might actually have to pass this up.

Maybe i'm just being paranoid but it's too good a feature to axe from the wii version, and i haven't seen anything saying its a definite yet.. :(

According to the information in this thread the song creating and sharing will be in the Wii version but probably won't be as "robust".

Nintendo Gaming / Re: WiiFit/Balance Board Accessories
« on: May 29, 2008, 04:19:58 AM »
Well I work at GameStop so I've seen the Silicon mats for the balance board. In fact, they were on sale like 2 weeks BEFORE Wii Fit came out, which I found to be special. I have not seen the battery packs actually though, though apparently as from what I've heard the batteries drain pretty quickly so they might be useful. What I'm really wondering is when they'll release the balance board as a singular accessory so multiple people can play with one game instead of needing two copies.

The Wii Fit manual says you can only have one balance board connected to a Wii at one time, so extra balance boards wouldn't make much sense.

A new 2D platformer on a console and it's an actual full disc game and not just Wii Ware? I'd kiss you, Nintendo, if that didn't require an insanely long plane ride.

Mercury in drinking water is no laughing matter, GP.

Whatever you do don't let Mercury Meltdown Revolution get anywhere near Dewy's Adventure! The results could be disasterous.

I love platformers, 4 of my all time top 6 games are platformers. The nice thing about that for me is I never owned a SNES so the VC keeps giving me platformers that are new to me. Who knew that ignorance pays off after 15 years?

I honest to god don't know what time it is right now, my I-pod, pc, microwave, watch, and the wall clock ALL say different times, some are a few hours apart! I am going to hope the Wii is right and start setting my clocks straight, stupid power outage.

As long as your PC works and so does your internet connection you could just check the correct time online.

I'm going to take Mashiro's desertion of Nintendo as an admission of defeat in our debate about Paper Mario during my first week here. Seriously, though, I've learned through experience that it's never a good idea to sell a console that you don't have something newer with backward compatibility for. I've sold two consoles and I ended up rebuying them both later on.

They should give up thinking up names for the Rabbids games and do it like sports games, name them after the year.

I've been in a shmup mood lately, but I'll probably wait for this to drop in price at least 10 wingwangs before I pick it up. These sound like great online features, which delights me that we're getting this kind of stuff on the Wii but infuriates me that small third parties are doing better with the Wii online stuff than Nintendo themselves.

Nintendo shouldn't copy Xbox Live from Microsoft, they should follow the chain. Microsoft copied SegaNet from Sega and called it Xbox Live, Sony copied Xbox Live from Microsoft and called it PlayStation Network, so Nintendo needs to copy PlayStation Network from Sony and call it Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection 2.0.

The only Castlevainia I've ever played is Dawn of Sorrow (well, the only Metroidvania, I got Super Castlevania IV on the VC). I always hear that the GBA ones are great, but I don't know if I want to play one without the full screen map on the second screen.

They didn't say either way whether it's just the created songs or commercial DLC. They may not have decided about that yet. It does seem likely that it's just going to be created songs, though, but that's pretty good too. If all you want from DLC is new songs to play when you get tired of the included ones then this may be better than commercial DLC because it's (I assume) free.
