I know everybody feels that way about the Subban deal, but it doesn't make it any less desirable. Beyond that, I'm rooting for Subban himself irrespective of the trade. He's an excellent player who's fun to watch and by all accounts a great guy off the ice as well, and I'd like to see him succeed.

Also, I really do have a friend who's a Senators fan. He's got odd taste in teams (he's also an LA Rams fan) but he's been a fan of theirs for a long time now, stuck by them through some really lean years, and it'd be nice to see that rewarded. Believe me, though, I'd be rooting against the Penguins no matter who their opponent was in this series, I don't need excuses.

Sonic Forces: Your Fanfic (minus the gross parts) Come to Life!

Now they just need a PC version so they can release it with an AO rating.

Not interested in fake Harvest Moon, especially with Stardew Valley on the way.

My local major junior team, the Erie Otters, won the OHL championship tonight for the first time in 15 years. They've been great the last few years, producing the #1 and #3 picks in the 2015 draft in Connor McDavid and Dylan Strome, but they couldn't quite get it over the top until now.

Once again I find myself diametrically opposed to Khushrenada. I'm pulling for Ottawa in the East both because of my general hatred of everything Pittsburgh and because a friend of mine who I introduced to hockey about 15 years ago picked the Senators as his team for whatever reason and has stuck by them, so I'm also rooting for them for him. I'm also rooting for Nashville in the West, just because they're a fun team with a great fan base and also to rub it in Montreal's face for trading PK Subban.

Atletico-Real Madrid looked like it was going to be one for the ages based on the first 20 minutes, but sadly it fizzled out. Real deserved the win, but I was rooting for the historic comeback.

The U.S. under-17 team remained perfect in the tournament and officially punched their ticket to the U17 World Cup this summer with a 6-2 win over Cuba today that was even more lopsided than that score would seem to indicate. I've said before in this thread that our youth teams are great and fun to watch, and today was no exception.

There were lots of great moments, but my personal favorite was this one, Andrew Carleton perfectly chipping the Cuban goalkeeper from 20 yards out while running at full sprint.

I'm with you, thatguy.  Vote Insanolord.  He's had activity while refusing to participate throughout the game.

I didn't really know where to go with a vote in yesterday's thread, given how out of pocket I've been this game, but looking in the prior threads, I think he has some splanin to do.

I'll admit that I haven't been active enough in this game. Some of that's the draft, some of it's my crazy sleep schedule, but even with all that I should have been able to participate more than I have. But of all the people here, you're really in no position to be lecturing anyone about inactivity. You were there at the end of the last day and even posted, but chose not to do anything, and that got Nickmitch killed and put us in a really bad spot. Lashing out at me for something you're just as guilty of is really suspicious at this stage, so I'm going to have to Vote Lolmonade for self defense and for someone who seems to be projecting.

It was nice to see them respond that way to going down early. It's the second time this season they've come back from down multiple goals in the last 15 minutes of a match to draw. They were missing three of four starters on their back line, with the lone first choice option being Joevin Jones, a left back more known for his offensive abilities than his defending, so hopefully once they're back to full strength there they won't have to rely on big comebacks.

1261
I'm very happy with it. The Browns made the right choice at #1 and seemed to get good value with their later picks without reaching. DeShone Kizer late in the 2nd is a great spot for him, he's a project but he's got franchise QB potential. The team got a lot better in the last few days and they've got 5 picks in the first 2 rounds next year to take that a step further.

I didn't know where to put this, so I figured why not use what is by far my most successful thread. Today is the 10th anniversary of my first joining the NWR forums, and I want to thank everyone here past and present for making this a community I've loved to be a part of for all that time, as a member and then Community Manager.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Re: ARMS: Get your Virtua On!

There really should be a demo. I think the Testfire events were a big part of selling a lot of people on Splatoon, and that game was a much more traditional type of thing as a team-based first person shooter. This game is hard to wrap your head around, and I feel like letting people try it will go a long way toward making it easy to understand.

NWR Mafia Games / Re: Mafia 73: Phoenix Wright: Turnabout Mafia: Day 2

What does "feels like mafia" mean? I've played this game the way I've played pretty much every game, and while it's increasingly clear that it doesn't seem like an effective strategy, I'm not sure what makes you suspect me.

1265
You could try reverting to a prior save. The game seems to keep a bunch of them as optins, so you probably wouldn't have to redo that much.

1266
Nintendo got indie support on Wii U until the bitter end, so if they're in a position to ask favors from anyone, it's gotta be the indies. The fact that they've stuck by Nintendo through all this suggests they're pretty happy with the arrangement.

It's hard not to get excited about the future of U.S. soccer with how well our youth teams have been playing lately. First the U20 team won the CONCACAF championship a couple months ago, and now the U17s are well on their way with a pair of victories, including tonight's against Mexico.

Continued investment in youth development is paying off as every youth class is deemed the best we've ever had. The U17 and U20 World Cups should be interesting this summer, with both teams poised to make deep runs. This U17 class is of particular interest, as this age group will be entering its prime when the 2026 World Cup comes about.

So yeah, maybe I should stop being mostly quiet early on in Mafia games because it seems to get me into trouble. Sad to see my vote to save myself turned out the way it did. I should have just stuck with my original plan and bandwagoned Khush, because who cares if he gets killed?

I've always been kind of interested in tabletop gaming, but most of my friends live just far enough away that we can't get together in person regularly enough for it to be a real option.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. Forget everything you've seen on television and in the movies. There's not gonna be any last minute surprise witnesses. Nobody's gonna break down on the stand with a tearful confession. You're gonna be presented with a simple fact: I am innocent. You'll hear two explanations for why he is mafia: mine and Khushrenada's. It is up to you to sift through layer upon layer of truth until you determine for yourselves which version sounds the most true. There are certain points that I must prove to you. Point number one, I was... Am a brilliant lawyer, great lawyer. Point number two, I'm afflicted with a debilitating disease, and I made the understandable, the personal, the legal choice to keep the fact of my illness to myself. Point number three, the mafia discovered my illness, and ladies and gentlemen, the illness I am referring to is an illness of temper. Point number four, they panicked. And in their panic, they did what most of us would like to do with my illness, which is just get it, and everybody who has it, as far away from the rest of us as possible.
Now, the behavior of my employers may seem reasonable to you. It does to me. After all, ill-tempers makes for an obvious, blatant target. But no matter how you come to judge nickmitch and his partners in ethical, moral, and in human terms, the fact of the matter is, when they voted for me because I am curt, they broke the law.

The NFL Draft is now less than 48 hours away and I'm kind of going crazy over it. I'm desperately hoping the Browns do the smart thing and take Myles Garrett first overall, but all this Mitchell Trubisky talk is getting to me. I wouldn't be opposed to taking him at 12, or even trading up from 12 with the Jets or Titans to get him, but we need to get Garrett no matter what. I'm not sure I'll be able to truly relax until Roger Goodell announces that Garrett is the pick.

1272
Nickmitch actually active and posting in the thread on day 1 is about the most suspicious thing I've seen so far, so I'm going to un-Vote Nickmitch. Though honestly, I haven't read the rules to this game out of spite for the host, so there may be something I'm missing but I'm just kind of winging it here.

1273
Vote Pokepal because his trying too hard to sound clever is becoming tiresome.

1274
I was going to vote for Khush too but I don't want to start an actual bandwagon over a joke so I guess I'll just hold off for now.
