If you're online and reading this, I want to fight you. PM me or reply here, or just show up online and we'll throw down.

I don't think that wii games aren't for people who are unwilling to change their tastes or don't like trying new things. I don't like sports games or (typical) racing games, until I experienced wii controls I wasn't to fond of FPS's either. I have always bought nintendo consoles because I like action/adventure games and platformers. Where else am I going to get these games? They are by no means new genre's or casually oriented. I just know that nintendo will deliver on these genres, as long as they have mario, metroid and zelda I'll be happy.

On the other hand I also enjoy RPG's. I have played through almost every final fantasy and enjoyed my fill of the genre on the SNES. Since then, however, I haven't been satisfied in this genre. However, I don't really like the direction that FF is going recently, and I'm not going to shell out the money for a new system for one game. I don't feel particularly deprived, I just wish I could play a GOOD new RPG every once in a while.

It's ok I can end it for you in five ;) I'm all about final destination, but I think it might ruin the anti-tourny*** nature of the tournament, I mean, why don't we turn off items while we're at it? It's just for fun so it doesn't really matter to me. Whatever people decide is what I'll do, but I'm taking my bananas with me because watching people trip is just funny.

so much hate. I leave for 2 days to write my exams and everybody turns on me haha. I'll have to think about which stages I don't want in, I think anything that scrolls should be tossed, and the melee stages really are cramped...

haha the random stages were not kind to you. First Bowser on 75ft then your Captain Falcon had an affinity for the spikes on the dk waterfall stage. bad luck.

I guess I need to start playing levels other than final destination on a regular basis. You really had my number on shadow moses island, I just had no room to work with and no viable up smashes to finish you of with. Now if I could only get a hold of that Vudu guy...

I didn't end up fighting Vudu, but S_B and I had some good games. I like to try and go towards him when he breathes fire, you know, to see how much damage I can take ;)

Earthbound ftw. I read every bit of text that I can find in RPG's and in adventure games as well. but I have just recently been playing through metal gear solid 2 for the first time and have been pissed at the long cutscenes full of pointless dialogue. I have to agree, I like dialogue that is funny or unexpectedly revealing. Golden sun is another game where the most random villager could give you a clue to a secret passage, and then there was the added text from reading their minds...

Armak, I'm free tonight from 7 - 9 CST if that works for you.

I'll try to be on, but I have a band practice that I have to get to so it will be tight.

I don't know how I feel about making the final match time. If enough people want it that way then I'll go for it but I'm not overly enthusiastic about the idea myself. It would be cool if we had a good replay of the final match though.

What traditional games really require the second analogue stick? The only ones I can think of are FPS's and using the IR on the remote is a vastly superior control scheme. Other than that the second analogue stick was mostly used for changing the camera angle, and Mario Galaxy did just fine without it and it is more movement oriented than any game I've ever played on any system.

The only true draw back that I see is the lack of face buttons. The control pad on the remote is uncomfortable to reach the up button with your thumb and the 1 and 2 buttons are in an awkward position. Still I didn't have any problems with Twilight Princess, so perhaps all the traditional control schemes just need to be tweaked slightly to work.

I should be home by then, i have band practice, but it should be finished in time.

They were nail biters to be sure. Good games though.

So what happens now? S_B faces the winner of Pale and Vudu, then I face the winner of that match?

I'm not quite sure how to coordinate this, but I'm available and usually looking for a match late every night, so if you guys can do it then, I know my friend is available as well.

I was just online looking for a match while I waited for one of my friends to get home from work, I was online for about 2 hours and thought it might be worth a shot to see if anyone else wanted to pick up a game. But your point is taken, I'll likely be online again tonight if anyone is interested. Reply here or send me a pm.

I didn't want to start another thread, but I am looking for a match right now.

Any takers?
