I managed to find Doom for GBA on UK ebay and got it for 10 pounds ($23cdn or $19usd) including shipping. Not a bad deal considerring how hard it seems to be to find.

Those are pretty cool. I think i'll just stick to Nimh batteries or get one of those rechargable battery packs with docking station when they come out.

If I got Dr. Mario on the DS my wife wouldn't let me use it anymore  She'd be too busy hogging it!

I tried to find Doom for GBA online and all I can find are inflated amazon prices. Ebay only has Doom2. On Amazon.ca some moron is trying to sell Doom for $92Cdn (about $84us)  Crazy!  I don't want to have to scour every eb games used game section in my city to find it.  If anybody happens to see a resonably priced copy online, let me know.

DOOM ON GBA!!!!  WTF!!!!11!!1!!!

I was going to try my hand at some DS homebrew to get Doom on my DS but if I can just find a GBA version that would be sooo much cheaper!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not really in RTS or Pokemon games unfortnately but I'm definatly into Metroid and Golden Sun. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Good thing that MK2 on SNES absolutely owned the Genesis version in all aspects.

I think Imagine was a John Lennon solo song wasn't it?

I didn't care for brothers in arms on PC.  I don't like ordering your team around. I would rather the other dudes just do what they want and i'll take care of all the bad guys Rambo-style.  I still kinda want to play farcry

I'm surprised that Ninty didn't put in an adult content filter into the browser.

I haven't owned a Nintendo handheld since the original gameboy. I bought a DS recently and I love it.  I'm wondering about GBA games.  What are the really good ones out there I should check out? I plan on getting Final Fantasy 4,5,6 for sure and probably Zelda: Minish Cap.  I have no idea if there's anything else worth picking up.  Thanks in advance (no pun intended)...

It would be awesome if Nintendo completed windwaker with the 2 dungeons back in and added wiimote functionality just like TP. I'd buy it again fo sho.

I just checked the nintendo online store and it still says it's not available & shipping in Jan/07.   Who knows when it will be available.  Retail might not get it for another month.  Yay for neighbours with unprotected wireless networks!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: HD monitors
« on: January 03, 2007, 09:39:09 AM »
Yeah, S-video is still 480i but so is componant unless your TV supports 480p.  Componant doesn't offer much better picture on a 480i TV than S-video. With componant, the color seperation is a little better but the clarity and sharpness are about the same.  Componant on 480p is WAYYYY better than s-video with 480i though.

Traditional games have met their end on Wii.

Untrue.  Nintendo is already hard at work on the wii-exclusive Zelda game.

Is your monitor a CRT, Projection or LCD?  If it's LCD it will definately support 480p (all the new ones do).  The other day I saw a flat screen CRT TV with componant inputs that was NOT HDTV compatable. I don't see the point in even having componant if it's not HDTV.  They could have just put in S-video for basically the same quality.

I don't get why anyone likes DQ7.  It's seriously the most boring RPG I have ever played!  DQ1 was better.  The graphics in DQ7 are so bad. One of the worst looking games on the PS1.

Maybe nintendo can update wiisports to be able to play online. It would be easy for them to release an online patch that would be stored on the internal memory.  Or even if they sold a seperate wiisports disc for like $10 that had online functionality built in. I would buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wii Zelda is Reversed?
« on: January 02, 2007, 07:49:44 AM »
who cares if the whole world is reversed for the Wii version?  is that really a big deal?  Just think of it like this: beat the wii version then go back and play the GCN version. It will be a totally different experience kinda like the 2nd quest in the original Zelda for NES.

Just see if you can get a grip on the multiplayer maps before you go online. The competition is nasty out there.

You were 100% right on that. I got so owned when I tried it online  Good thing online really isn't my thing so I'll pretty much be sticking to single player mode.  Is it just me or does anybody else's hands ache when they play Metroid Prime Hunters?  Especially in a heated boss battle. I have to pause the game several times because my left hand aches so bad.

When I bought mine on Dec 26 I got it from Superstore. It's basically a giant supermarket with an electronics dept here in Canada.  They had 7 left. 1 white and 6 <choke> pink.  I'm really glad they had the one white unit left!
