I love Deus Ex too.  I have Deus Ex for PS2 and for PC. The only other game that I have on both is Half Life.  Did you play Deus Ex 2?  I found it good but it ran like crap on my PC.  Sorry I guess i'm getting off topic here.

I hope this turns into a real game and isn't just vaporware.  It looks like it could increase the older fanbase for the wii.  Wii need more mature games dammit!

I think sony will pick up the pace as soon as they start pumping out the exclusive triple-A games (Lair, FF13, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, God of War 3, etc).  Not sure if they will be able to catch up to Ninty and Microsith but they should see some success.

I think it's funnier to watch you all argue about what's funny

Some people will find this article funny and some will not. There's nothing wrong with either opinion. It's all personal taste.  It's like when you explain a joke to someone because they don't get it. It doesn't make it funny when you have to explain it.

NWR Forums Discord / RE: Trial version of Internet Channel no longer free
« on: February 13, 2007, 02:45:34 AM »
The shouldn't call it a "trial" version if they are charging. Considerring that Opera on PC is free, I think it's pretty lame to charge for it at all.

Back in the day of the original mario kart I got so pissed trying to beat 150cc that I put my shoulder through some drywall in the basement.  If i'm getting frustrated with a game now, I just turn it off. Sometimes I never play it again. That happened with Resident Evil 0, I kept screwing up the part where you have to get to the back of the train to disable a bomb (maybe i'm remembering it wrong).

General Chat / Grammys Disappointment
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:34:48 AM »
Anybody catch the grammys last night?  I watched it just for the hard rock and metal catagories but I fell asleep before they came on   I can't believe that Mastodon didn't win best metal song.  I was pulling for Tool in the hard rock catagory but I'm happy Wolfmother won.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Capcom has a lot of Wii games planned, but...
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:27:42 AM »
Capcom is known for mature games? Maybe i'm a bit old-school here but when I think of Capcom, the first thing I think of is Megaman and street fighter. If somebosy asked me who made Resident Evil I would probably say Konami...

When Perrin said she wasn't going to take a jab at Sony, I'm sure it was because Nintendo told her not to.  I bet she's just dying to flaunt the Wii sales and that's why she kinda slipped up by saying people are selling PS3s on Ebay to buy a Wii. Although you could also look at it as a true statement rather than a jab.  I like Perrin's interviews.  She really puts forth the image of Nintendo as a very fan friendly humble company. I don't think saying that you are in awe of your product's sales is a bad thing. I smiled when I read that part of the interview because I thought it was such a "thank you" to the fans.

Edit:

I just found this on Gonintendo (originally from GamePolitics):

GamePolitics talked to Beth Llewelyn, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at Nintendo concerning their feelings about Manhunt 2 for the Wii.

"Manhunt 2 is not developed or published by Nintendo. It is one of many titles released by third party publishers for our system that appeal to people of all ages and interests. Just as with movies, television, and books, different video games appeal to - and are appropriate for - different audiences. Video game retailers and purchasers are strongly encouraged to follow the age-specific ESRB ratings when considering what software to sell or buy. If parents are concerned about kids having access to inappropriate Wii games, we encourage them to utilize the PIN-operated Parental Control features built into Wii"

Sounds similar to what Perrin was saying but in a little more detail.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Far Cry is out
« on: February 09, 2007, 02:21:43 AM »
I rented farcry last night and am about 2h in. I am SHOCKED at how good it is! I mean it's not the greatest game in the world and the graphics look like a 1st generation PS2 game but it's surprisingly fun. I'm glad I read all the bad reviews because I didn't have high expectations.  I find the controls better then Call of Duty and the graphics really aren't that bad at all (except for the N64 compressed cut scenes)  Throwing grenades is actually fun. I'm not a big fan of having to flick the nunchuk up to jump but other then that the controls are really good. I'd give it a 7.5/10

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Anybody have Call of Duty 3?
« on: February 08, 2007, 05:12:54 AM »
I played one more chapter before I packed it up to take back to the rental store and i'm pleased to say that I think I was finally getting the hang of the controls.  I remember the same thing happend back in 2000 when I got the PS2.  I couldn't play unreal tournament with the default controls and had to switch it to the more goldeneye or metroid prime style controls where the left stick controled forward-back and turning. But after playing Red Faction for a while I got used to the default controls and have never looked back since. In fact I had I hard time swtching back for Metroid Prime.  I'm pretty excited for Medal of Honor: Vanguard.  I just hope there is some multiplayer...

I think they are just trying to show that Teen games are doing well on the Wii. I'm sure alot of gamers still think that only E rated games sell on Nintendo platforms.  Personally I just think that there isn't much real news to report right now so they are grasping for something to write about. I did find the article interesting though.

Reading everybody's responses to this post is very interesting. Seeing as most members of this forum are hardcore Nintendo fans, i'm not surprised to see so many "man hunt sucks" responses. Never until now did I see how much Nintendo has built a completely different fanbase from Sony and Microsoft. Ever since FF7 was released on PS1 i have been a sony fan. Sure I had a N64 and a Cube (and loved both) but my PS2 and PS1 got 10x the use that my Nintendo consoles got (excluding SNES and NES).  I just thought it was very interesting to see because most readers on sites which are not nintendo based are very excited for manhunt on the Wii.  Sorry if I sound negative at all because I don't mean to be. I don't mean any offense to anybody who is not a fan or dislikes violent games.
