I still want GB/GBC.  There's no reason why Nintendo isn't offering that.  You can't buy those games in stores anymore.  To me, that's the requirement for the VC.  Any format Nintendo can obtain the rights for (ie: not Playstation) that isn't available in stores anymore should be on there and with the Gameboy Nintendo doesn't even have to negotiate with anyone.  It's entirely their decision.

I'm guessing they're waiting for their next portable system, which I'm guessing will support VC games in some way.  To most people, playing a gameboy game in front of the tv is a fairly weak experience.

Most of those CD rom games were CD audio tracks.  Compressed as mp3 they aren't nearly as big.  Still, with all these large files, I don't think Nintendo's policy of "just delete them and download them again later!" will hold out much longer.  The no-brainer solution is to pull channels from the SD card so you can save VC games there and run them without copying files around.  I think that's more likely than a hard drive, but I'd very much like to be wrong about that.

I can't imagine what this is...  a little teeny guitar would be cute and everything but without a table to stick the ds on it wouldn't work really.  And anything that makes you hold the DS would really let you see the screen right while playing.

I got to play 1 cart wireless yesterday.  You don't get to pick your team, the level or the scheme, which kinda sucks, but I'm hoping that's just because it's single cart play.  When we didn't get a totally assy level, it was fun.

I found it at an EB Games when I was visiting Dallas.

A few small glitches I've found are:
Sometimes at the end of the round or after killing someone you don't get a chance to retreat.  This can result in you blowing up if you are low on health and turning a victory into a tie.  This also seems to happen after the first shot of a shotgun.

The backflip jump is done by pressing B twice.  This works about 99% of the time.  The other 1% of the time you jump forward which can result in you jumping to your death.  It seems to happen more at the very start of the round.  It may be that the first B press is read as "ok, ready, let's start the turn" and the 2nd is read as "oh, let's jump off of a cliff. cool."

Overall though it's a very decent port of worms.  They even added some vertically oriented levels that are better suited for the dual screen view.

I still don't get how they call this piece of plastic a "zapper".  What does it do for you that the remote and nunchuck by themselves don't?

Picked it up last week.  It's really really good.  My only gripe is there doesn't seem to be any option to allow you to pick which worm you want to use... every version of worms has had this option and I got pretty much spoiled by it.  It's omission is noticeable, but it isn't a show stopper.  The game feels perfect, and my mad ninja rope skills can be put to use properly.  Surprisingly, the single player campaign mode is pretty good.  I usually pass on the "mission" type stuff in worms.  I haven't played online yet but a bunch of my friends are interested in the game so it should be cool.

Kudos to the devs on this one.  But gimme back my worm selection! x)

Wow, they completely rewrote it according to the reviews.  I will have to pick this up.  Though they should really have recalled the first one, and replaced it with a complete rewrite and a letter of apology.

Oh for the love of eff.

1) Copying software may be illegal, but it is not "stealing".
2) They aren't stopping anyone from "stealing".

Pirates will find a way to copy software regardless of all the DRM, firmware updates and other nonsense a company can come up with.  Computers run code.  Code must be read to be run.  If the code can be read, the code can be written.  This is called "copying".  End of story.

All these tactics do is annoy legitimate customers.

Nintendo hasn't been bad about it in the past, but this relatively recent burst of mysterious mandatory updates is troubling.

Maybe they realized the first one was a glitchy unplayable piece of unfinished garbage.  I swear there's more polished homebrew on the DS than that game.

Hahaha Magician Lord is such an awesome terrible game.

I don't see why they wouldn't release these over here eventually.  But even then, I'd wait for KoF96 before buying anything.  I'm sure they're going to release these in order.

I'm not holding out much hope that this won't be terrible, but it would be a nice surprise if it wasn't.  I don't know how they made the Dreamcast version of Worms so good, and the DS one so god awful.

Fixed.

Well Sony does lock out loads of legitimate homebrew.  I don't know what the status is/was of homebrew on the wii/gamecube, but it seems like they're getting everyone used to the idea of constant firmware updates.

Interesting..  I imagine the game is a lot easier with the stylus though.  I wonder if they'll emulate the spinner or take the lazy way out and just let you move the paddle anywhere you want like a mouse.

I wish the touch screen was used to emulate spinners and track balls more.  Monkey Ball really should have had track ball emulated controls.

Great news, but would it kill them to include some analog triggers on the stupid plastic wheel attachment?  I'm so sick of tap-tap-tap racing.
