General Chat / RE:Lucid Dreams
« on: February 05, 2008, 12:08:33 PM »
I've only had a real lucid dream maybe 3 times in my life.  There are times when I know I'm dreaming but am unable to control anything in it.  I would say the worst dream I had was any nightmare with a clown but I had a dream I attended all my morning classes, That day was terrible it was like sitting through it twice.

I never had the urge to main Falco or Fox, Wolf isn't going to change my mind either.  I mained Captian Falcon and Zelda a lot in melee.  Right now I would like to try and main with Meta Knight but there are a lot of characters I want to try before that.

I think S_B you'll have a much easier time beating up animals (I promise I won't call P.E.T.A) since they have taken the suck out of Bowser this time around.  In action Dedede is a monster, He's the strongest Heavy I've seen and I'm suprised not more of him have been popping up.

Tweeet! Line up, everyone!  I'm about to give you all the information you need to know about Brawl

Graphics

How can I start to explain the graphics...  Ah... This doesn’t look good.    Also imagine my suprise when I found out you needed a TV to play the game Yeah, you have to have this  Maybe I was spoiled by games like Cruisin but Brawl just does not impress me one bit.

Gameplay

It's still the same old boring tired formula, your attacks, they'll cause an enemy's damage to slowly rise!  How exciting... NOT! this formula was wearing thin in Melee in Brawl it's just pathetic.  I always main Samus and imagine how offended I was after I grabbed a smash ball, All of her armor fell off!, I thought I payed for a Nintendo game not Cinemax.   Sakurai said no more clones and right from the get go what is the first thing you notice all of the characters walk using legs! Oh! Talk about individualized. Sakurai claimed to have beefed up the adventure mode, but after having skipping all cutscenes and playing on easy I had beat the SSE in an hour Oh, to think it’s already over...   Perhaps the most disturbing thing I've seen is playing as Pikmin & Olimar, Several times during a match my Pikmin died and their spirits floated through the air.  There is no respect for them.  Pikmin don't have graves you know.

Sound

There is music in the game but to collect more you need to find CD's.  It's a tedious addition to try and add extra play time.

Replayability

To be honest after a couple hours I hated this game, Actually I took a shotgun to the game disc after I was done It feels great to break it!  They added a stage editor, assist trophies, and a few new characters but my biggest pet peeve, they added 3rd party characters my first thought was "Hold on a second! What are you guys doing here?!"I thought this was Smash Bros not Sony Mega Ultra Sega Fight Quest *sigh* You've let me down Nintendo.  Wi-fi matches, new characters a new adventure mode, final smashes, new stages this all loses it's appeal within a day.   Of course there are things to do after you beat the SSE collecting CD's, stickers and trophies.  For a second I forgot I was playing Smash Bros. and thought I was playing Donkey Kong 64

Final Score

2.0

Nice try Nintendo

Without online rankings I don't know how much of a problem this will be.  I am sure after trial and error one character will stand out amoung the rest.   I would give it maybe a month before people start spamming a character.  I'm not really worried about it honestly it's kind of a moot point.  I will probably be playing with friends online most of the time.  Even after a certain amount of time won't people get tired of being the same person over and over?   Even if I won every single match I ever played and I had to be Wolf for that to happen I would quit very quickly.

Actually the PAL name was closer to the japanese title then Fatal Frame was.  In Japan the series is called just Zero.  Zero in japanese is pronounced Rei which can also mean ghost.  I guess if I was japanese I would find that funny.  It's a little ironic I guess.

There was one quote at the end of the game that I found hilarious.

Jeane: Do you want this game to get an even higher rating?
Do you want this to be No More Heroes Forever? Duke Nukem FTW

I don't think this has been posted yet but it seems you can be ZSS from the start by holding down the R button, minus button on the Wii remote.

Luigi does this really weird dance and creates a big green bubble, it slows people down making them easier to hit.  I'm not sure if it does anything else other then that.

EDIT:Luigi Kicking ass and taking names

I kind of figured Bill :P Although if it was real I sadly wouldn't be too suprised

On another note, Luigi's Final Smash looks like my favorite so far.

Mewtwo was really unique, I'm not glad to see him gone but not too sad to see him leave.  I would have liked it if they kept him in.  It seems like Sakurai focused his character choices around the SSE, I can't see why Wolf would have made it in over Krystal especially with Fox's moveset.  I'm not upset today, I know my friends will get a kick out of playing with Wolf even with his moveset.

When I played with friends we usually ended up playing on Corneria, they hated moving stages, the only one I really disliked was Icicle Mountain.  I'm looking forward to making stages personally made for certain characters.

That's disappointing.  Sakurai always wanted to have a more fleshed out single player game which he accomplished.  It seems like he neglected some characters in the process.  I have mixed feelings, the SSE looks really amazing, Clones don't bother me as much as some people but it's very strange for Ganondorf to be a clone again.  Ness and Falco I can see.  Oh well, Toon Link is still going to be damn cool

As far as I know Ganondorf's Clone status is just speculation right now.  Most people think so just because he is devoid of a sword.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'll wait until there is some credible evidence that Falco and Ganondorf are exact clones.  I never used Falco so I couldn't care less.  I'm more miffed that Captian Falcons FS is not his Galactic Falcon Punch.  R.O.B. doesn't get me doing cartwheels but he could be alright, I'll just wait and see.

I knew this was going to happen.  People are confusing what they think should be in the game with what is.  I'm a lot happier about a more fleshed out single player experience then worried that there are clones again.  The development time was longer but there is a hell of a lot more in this game then melee had.  From the looks of it Ness is a clone because he seems to only be a driving point in the SSE, he protects Lucas from becoming a trophy.  That's just my own speculation.  But everyone pissing and moaning about what they wanted in the game is really annoying.  Of course the game isn't going to have everything you want in it.  That's incredibly stupid.

This update was not spectacular, but it shows we get the japanese arrangements too, that's cool.  I was assuming they would leave them out

I've played up to where I just beat Dr. Peace.  The camera was a bit troublesome in close quarters.  Each character ooze such style it's really a shame you usually have to kill them right after you meet.  The motion controls are well executed since they are only used as finishing moves or for wrestling moves it feels right.  So far the dialogue has been pretty damn hilarious.  I really don't want to put this game down but I need to study today.  Hopefully S_B will have better impressions then I did.

This was the strangest mafia I've been involved in, The game seemed to taper off towards the end.  I had to re-read the rules a few times to catch up on what's going in.  But it was fun.  I don't know enough to host a mafia game but I would be willing to help someone with their ideas.

MVP Vote Decoyman

He put himself out from the beginning, some townies were caught in the cross-fire but he had the best intentions and had a good sense of what was going on

Wildcard Vote Stevey

I was unaware how much he did until now so I think it's only fair.

This is the first mafia I have seen the end of alive so I am very happy about that

I'm happy Ness is back, and since Lucas took most Of Ness's moves we will probably see a completely new movelist.
