Nintendo Gaming / Mother 3 in Brawl
« on: August 11, 2007, 03:28:56 AM »
Actually with Ness fever running rampant, this news is a bit interesting.

Mother 3 Info

Mostly talks about their progress on the Mother 3 translation but talks about brawl briefly

Quote

There’s also a little bit more info we’ve caught wind of. Can’t reveal it here (and definitely wouldn’t want to…), but it basically equates to the fact that Smash Bros. Brawl is going to ABSOLUTELY, UNQUESTIONABLY spoil MOTHER 3 for EB fans who haven’t played the game yet

This was talked about after the Franklin Badge.  Although I would still expect Ness, it sounds more like a stage that will be unveiled later.  I'm a bit unsure how reliable these guys are, they run Starmen.net so if anyone would know it would most likely be them.

277
I wasn't talking about NWR but Nintendo in General, not all Wii owners are connected to the internet.  If it sounded like NWR was in charge of Nintendo's marketing that way it wasn't my intention.  The demo's are great but don't reach everyone.  And if you directly compare Brawl's information to Metroid's there is a big difference.  Granted Brawl has much more tiny little things to reveal.  And I think anyone that visits NWR knows all there is to know about Metroid.  NWR rocks, Happy Golden Phoenix?

Part of it is that there is so much more to discuss about Brawl.  But I wish they would market a little better.  I don't expect it to be a Halo Killer but that by no means it can sell extremely well.  Maybe if Nintendo offered a Legendary edition with a Samus Helmet it would sell really well although a Samus Pinup would probably work better but that's beside the point.

It seems like you can hide the Franklin Badge on certain characters much better then others, it right on top of Kirby's head is almost a dead giveaway.  But I wonder if it will reflect Pikachu's lightning especially well... Ok that won't happen but it should. And if Ness is replaced by any Mother 3 character it would most likely be Lucas because weren't they going to include him in Melee?  Although I wouldn't mind Duster and his loveable limp.

Most people will say Ness so I will say Paula assist trophy, hopefully with her pray command.

This game is awesome online, A tournament from the boards would be awesome, I think I should play Golden Phoenix Belome Vs. Valentina  .  Oh yeah anyone that's been playing online has anyone else seen people spamming the hammer bros move all the way up the pitch? Not hard to stop once you know how but still annoying.

Oh I don't know Mashiro there's some censoring that I can agree with.  I know it's hard to symphathize when you it doesn't really pertain to your i.e. religion, culture etc.  For some people they are touchy subjects.  Ummm I think that Aladdin line was "We cut off your ear if we don't like your face"  I can see how that would offend some people.  Not to say we should censor everything but sometimes people have a valid point and should be listened to.

I was pretty good at strikers so I look forward to playing against people here.  Was it just me or did anyone else love to see after you scored a goal with the Toad's to see their evil gloating expression?

December 3rd is my new favorite day.  It seems far off still.

I'm excited to see what obscure characters they will be including.  If Ness is included in Brawl it would be cool to see Pokey in his Spider Mech.  But it would be nice to see the Koopa kids get some well deserved face time.

What a wonderful time to return from Seoul.  After hearing about Starcraft for a while it's nice to see everyone's friend has come back to give the Wii some free publicity.

Well you suspected me but you did make my delicious Belome avatar.  So I will listen to the dead.  Because Belome's religion is ummm Vudu haha get it Vudu like... oh never mind.  Belome's kind of hungry Shift key actually tasted more like an Enter key.  Belome also talks in the 3rd person annoying isn't it.

Ahh, golden week. From what I can remember being there, that it was a time for everybody to bugger off somewhere. Hell, even I buggered off to somewhere during that week. I am not too sure whether it actually spurs more sales outside of enterainment into electronic goods though.

The biggest impression I got from the entire week was that, for one week, Japan stood still.

This is true, it's basically Christmas for a week. No one but emergency service people go to work. No manga, no anime, few sales.

Your forgetting a new Detective Conan movie ^-^

Good Lord

More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Jung are female.

So I am the .1 of the group this makes me feel like I should have an identity problem.

Wow Pizzicato 5 I haven't heard them in forever.  Them and Shonen Knife were popular with college kids a long time ago.

Hmmm I used to listen to Sex Machineguns a lot (Not the pistols) They were the first really good speed metal band I heard.  Has anyone mentioned Rush yet?  I was at their last Concert in Toronto.  One of my favorite bands.
Some of you should listen to Tokyo Ska Paradise if only for their Tetris Cover.  Dream Theater is also worth a listen if your into progressive rock.

I'm in, I haven't been around that long but this is too much fun too pass up.  I'll be Belome from Legend of the 7 stars.

Of course the series does not sell as well since the tastes are vastly different then the U.S.  but being narrow minded enough to say "Since you don't like Zelda then you must be off playing a crappy game" Some people simply do not like games in that genre.  As long as you can give an objective view to a game if it's good or bad and cite reasons then your opinion is valid.

But of course Zelda is going to change but because of "flakey" japanese game market groupthink" is so unlikely
Most games have an underlying formula and of course Zelda has one.  If it ain't broke don't fix it comes to mind, Some things may be tweaked to appeal to certain gamers.  The game sells best in the U.S.  I doubt Nintendo would be stupid enough to pull a "New Coke" manuever.  "Attention Link is now Korean" (I'm korean and worried about potential racial backlash used my own as to not offend anyone else"  Nothing short of an act of god would change something in the series so drastically it does not feel like a Zelda game.

Having your own tastes and opinions is what make us human but belittling someone else for not having the same mindset is ignorant.

Seriously though, from what I read that seems very disappointing.  I'm a little surprised it went that bad.  I'm sure the Backward compatibility had a big role to play with that.

I think that talking about China is in bad taste.  Making a jab about a country is one thing but then generalizing the people of China is not so nice.  And "their" in an ownership sense as in- there are 2 people who bought a PS3 on launch day.   But their expectations were much too high.

I got my copy today.  I really like it.  Most of the games are really fun.  And it is true you look like an idiot doing some of the movements but that's what makes it so fun.  I got my girlfriend to try it with me.  She liked everything she tried but the track sprint.
