I spent a lot of time in Multi-Man Mode today and I don't think I earned any coins. Boo/hiss. On the bright side, many of the Multi-Man Mode Challenges can be completed jumping up in the air with Yoshi and performing his butt-stomp (Down+Special). I was able to complete many of them with Lucina, or Lady Fire Emblem as a friend of mine calls her.

I found Sonic to be amazing for Multi-Man challenges in this game.  I just stand on the side of the stage and when several Mii's get on the bottom I do his Forward Special across the stage which instantly KO's all of them.  It also helps that Sonic's Forward Special can jump so if someone is also standing on the  platform at the other end, I can jump into them as well.  Doing this made the 200 KO's in endless challenge pretty easy.

The board game mode is probably the Smash World they found in the 3DS audio file.  The Master Hand and Crazy Hand challenges will be the Master Orders and Crazy Orders.  So with these audio leaks coming true the Wii U is also looking to have a Boss battle mode and 8-Player Smash mode as well.

Here's the audio files for anyone that hasn't heard them.

Is this Demon's Crest first release on VC ever in NA?

Yes it is.  Now I can finally play Demon's Crest and wont have to sell a kidney to afford it.

Anyone else playing this besides Kairon?

I bought the game, but Smash Bros is taking up all my time at the moment.

I still don't see why some people have such a problem with the Flying Men.  They're really easy to KO, and after the 5th one is gone, they stop appearing.  Plus you can use them as well to you're advantage as well, so it's not like it's some unfair stage hazard that screws you over every time.

The Paper Mario stage in general makes no sense to be in the 3DS version since 3 of the 4 games are on homes consoles and 2 out of the 3 sections of the stage are from home console games as well.  In comparison Mario & Luigi has had 4 games all on handhelds and all it gets is one crappy song remix in the home console oriented Paper Mario stage.

Well I guess the Wii U version could still get a Mario & Luigi stage, but considering every other Wii U stage so far is based of home console games I wouldn't bet on it.    If there isn't any Mario & Luigi stage then we can add that to the list of things Sakurai hates which currently includes the Wario Land series and Kirby games he didn't direct.

Yeah and there so much stuff with the Customization that I want to get that this would have been the perfect venue to do that with.

Well there are custom parts that do show up when playing Trophy Rush as well.  Not as often as the trophies but several still show up if you're playing at the max time limit each time.  If you play the mode enough, you can get a good amount of custom parts to go along with the **** load of trophies that you'll get.

The custom equipment pretty much makes every character great in this game.  Like I said in the other Smash thread, any character I don't like, I just make them better.

Can you imagine what it would have been like to make Kirby in Melee stronger, or Ganondorf in Brawl faster?  Well now in this Smash Bros, I can literally do that.  Any character who has a huge weakness like being too weak or too slow, I can fix that.  It really is the greatest feature Smash Bros has every introduced.

Why does a new game need to advance the series? Why not just make another new game?

Yeah, especially when there was an 8 year gap between Super and Fusion.  It's not like we were overwhelmed in 2D Metriod games during this time.  Hell, its been over 10 years since the last 2D Metriod these days, I wouldn't mind getting another one right now even if its gameplay is similar to Supers as well.

When there's gaps that long between installments, I'm not sure how anyone can get sick of the gameplay unless they're playing the previous installment over 9000 times during said gap in which case it's there fault, not the developers.

Double Post: The official site has had quite a few updates!  Along with all the infor you can read on the news section here, there's character profiles for 3 secret characters. Spoiler alert!  Also, the pics are gorgeous.

I like that they updated the music CD offer page with a hint of some of the new Wii U music.

Egg Planet
Title (Metroid)
The Great Cave Offensive
Fight 1 (Fire Emblem Gaiden)
Xenoblade Chronicles Medley

All songs we didn't know about yet.  The Great Cave Offensive in particular is a big reveal since it kind of confirms that this picture Nintendo put on there Facebook page is the Kirby stage for the Wii U version which is Great Cave Offensive related.

The Castle in the background and the minecart both look very similar to the one in Great Cave Offensive and now we know there's going to be a remixed related to that game as well.

Of course this kind of shows Sakurai really doesn't care for the Kirby games that weren't the ones he made.  Every other major Nintendo franchise gets stages based of the newest installments but for Kirby, Sakurai has never made a Kirby stage based off the newest Kirby games.  He only makes them based of off Dreamland 1, Adventure and Super Star which were of course the 3 Kirby's he made.  Yeah I love the Gameboy Dreamland stage in the 3DS version and I can see this stage being great as well, but it is kind of ridicules that Sakurai won't make any Kirby stages based off anything that isn't his when at this point the majority of the series he's had nothing to do with.

I guess he still holds a huge grudge against HAL despite leaving them over a decade ago.

My Smash 64 main has been getting nerfed since forever.
Do you mean Kirby?

No, Samus.  I don't think I really mained her since 64.  I got more into Mr. Game & Watch and Ness in the Melee years.

You do realize you can buff Samus up to make her better in this game thanks to the equipment?  Seriously, that's what I've loved most about this new Smash Bros is how thanks to the custom equipment, you can buff any character you want.  My main Luigi got nerfed in the normal game, but once I got enough equipment I gave him a huge Attack boast and now I've created a custom Luigi that's better then he was in any of the previous Smash Bros.

Here I thought the customs movesets would be the big thing, but to me the custom equipment ended up being bigger since being able to increase Attack, Defense or Speed really is a game changer.  So far I have yet to play as a character I don't like since I just increase the weak aspects of them to create something that's much better.

Pandora's Tower is a really good game, all you people with a sealed copy should play it.  The combat is fun and the boss fights are great.  Of course when you get to the Light/Dark tower, I'd strongly recommend using a guide so you can beat these towers as quickly as possible since Xseed created a nasty glitch in the North American version that causes the game to freeze randomly when you try to enter those 2 towers.  I ended up having to reset my Wii 10 different times in order to complete those towers since it seemed to freeze ever other time I came back then tried to enter again.

Oh and make sure you get all the exclusive items in the Light/Dark tower as well since the glitch happens 100% of the time during new game +.  So if you didn't get everything in those 2 towers your first playthrough, it's impossible in your second because can't enter the towers on the second playthrough thanks to the glitch.

I'm shocked Nintendo approved of letting the Koopalings appear as Bowser Jr.'s alternates. It completely undermines every attempt they've made clarify that they're not supposed to be Bowser's offspring. Miyamoto must be pissed by this.

Miyamoto thought yellow would be a better color for Kirby, Sakurai still kept him pink.  Sakurai has a long history of not caring about what Miyamoto thinks.

Apparently, you can't change the item frequency in the game. It's either off or "OMG, items everywhere!"

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U version allows you to do it.  3DS version has already shown to lack features compared to previous Smash Bros that the Wii U looks to have, so item frequency will probably be Wii U exclusive as well.

Or maybe Iwata was a huge fan of the first Bayonetta and when he heard Sega canceled the sequel he went, "**** it, I'm going to fund it myself".

It's the only thing to talk about on Wii U these days. I said a lot of nice things about Mario Kart 8. I imagine I'll have nice things to say about Smash Bros as well (though to be fair I've never really enjoyed any Smash Bros game).

Talk about sales in the Official Sales thread.

Don't **** up other thread with sales talk since that's not what they're about.  Either talk about the actual game in this thread or just don't post at all.  It's really that simple.

X has been on my "to play" list for a while but it hasn't happened yet. I think at this point i'm waiting for a nice sale because I'm frugal.

You do know there was a sale on both X1 and X2 on the eShop a few weeks ago?  Should have gotten them then because it's going to be a while before that happens again.  Unless they do another one when the Wii U version of Smash Bros is about to be released.  But at that time they probably put different Mega Man games on sale instead.

Sadly Bayonetta 2 selling just as bad as I predicted.  Nintendo/PG wasted time and money porting over the first game and added a bunch of "Nintendo" costumes which didn't help sales one bit.  The bad news is this is going kill any hope for NA marketing push from Nintendo, it's going be lucky if it sell 1/4 million lifetime.

Who gives a ****.  Unless you're a stockholder of Nintendo or Platinum, we still got a better product as a result.

Perfectly good reason for that--I don't like Mega Man 7. Neal asked if I wanted to review it, and I said "no man, I hate MM7." Compared to the X games and even most of the NES games, MM7 is unbearably slow.

The problem with MM7 and 8 is because the X series was the one with the fast paced action at the time, Capcom intentionally made the newer classic Mega Man games much slower to create a bigger difference between both series.  X for the older fans while 7/8 would be more for kids.

Which I still find really funny since the final boss of MM7 is one of the hardest bosses in any Mega Man series because of how cheap Wily's final form is.  Way to fail guys, sacrifice the game design to appeal more to kids but then make it too hard for them while providing something that isn't as thrilling to the older fans either.

Bayonetta 2 actually deputed higher then Donkey Kong and Wind Waker HD did in Japan so that's actually a decent first week considering the type of game it is.  Hell, considering The Wondeful 101 did around 6k its first week, Iwata is probably doing somersaults over Bayonetta's numbers.

So after playing the demo, the controls on the 3DS actually work pretty well for me at least.  My only problem was the default setting in the demo for B on special attacks and A on normal attack is pretty bad and keeps messing me up.  For Smash Bros on this kind of controller, Y for attack and X for special work much better since it will then play like a Kirby game which is what Smash is based off of.  But since the final version will allow me to change this, it's a non issue in the end.

Oh and damn, Link really did get a huge buff like people have been saying.  Attacks hit hard, and arrows/bombs are actually useful for once.  I'm also really liking Mega Man with his wide variety of Normal Attack.  Oh and Villagers Up-B really is insane.  I accidentally feel to the very bottom of the stage and then did that move and was able to fly all the way back up.  He/She really is going to be the perfect troll character.

Well at least the newest picture of the day makes it very likely the Wii U version will have more stages.  In the 3DS version Fire Emblem only had one stage while now the picture of the day show the Wii U version will have 2 Fire Emblem stages.  Yeah the second one is Brawl's old one, but in the 3DS version, 8 series were only given their old stages without anything new.

Sakurai only said the roster would be the same between versions but nothing about stages.  So since Fire Emblem gets 2 in the Wii U, it shows he doesn't care about making stage representation for series being equal between versions, which should mean the overall stage count is going to be higher as well.

They should just release the Ice Climbers as DLC for the Wii U version in the future then.  Because lets be honest here, most of the real fans will be playing the Wii U version much longer then the 3DS version.  A year from now nobody is going to give a **** about the 3DS version anymore so if they suddenly where to release the Ice Climbers as Wii U only DLC, I doubt anyone will be offended since all the casuals buying the 3DS version right now won't care about the game next year and the rest of the fans will have the Wii U version and be more then happy to spend money to get the Ice Climbers back.

Best selling PC game of all time. One of the best selling console games. It's the ONLY game that has Nintendo-like evergreen status on not-Nintendo consoles: Xbox (and now PS3) Minecraft is in European and American sales Top 10 chart every single week since it was released.

The thing is there's no evidence yet that Minecraft will remain this big in the future.  Look at how big Wii Sports, Guitar Hero, Wii Fit, Nintendogs, and Angry Birds were last gen, and then look at them now.  A lot of Minecraft's current popularity is because of the same kids and casuals that helped make a lot of these series popular, but as these show, this audience has a low attention span and will move on when something new gets their attention.

Now yes there's a strong core audience to Minecraft that can still help it keep selling millions, but enough to make up 2.5 billion dollars worth?  That's going to big the big question which I don't see happening.  Especially with Microsoft in charge of it now, who has a history of gutting the studio's they buy and making the quality suffer as a result, which will make even the core audience of Minecraft eventually got sick of it as well.

The 3DS version is mostly being made with Japan in mind.  The home console market is dying over there and Smash Bros is the only major series they have that hasn't been on a handheld yet.  This is the one place where Mario Kart DS sold better then Mario Kart Wii, so I'm sure they want to see just how popular a handheld version of Smash Bros can be since every other series they have does much better on handhelds in Japan, even the ones that benefit more from a home console.
