Let me say MGS 3D NEEDED dual analog at E3.
Ace Combat looked like it would be helped.

TalkBack / New Square Enix RPG Announced for 3DS
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:08:16 AM »

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy looks to be an all-new IP for Nintendo's 3D handheld.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/27776

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy from Square Enix is the latest RPG announced for the Nintendo 3DS.

A brief announcement trailer shown during the Nintendo 3DS Confernece 2011 today featured a boy on a sailboat and a battle with a giant golem. Visually it featured elements reminiscent of both early Final Fantasy concept art, as well as the Dragon Quest universe.

Little detail on the game was offered, except that it will feature traditional Japanese RPG gameplay and some form of AR content. Square Enix will be giving out AR Cards for the game at TGS later this week.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is scheduled for a 2012 release.

TalkBack / New Fire Emblem Title Coming to 3DS
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:47:52 PM »

The latest entry in the Intelligent Systems series is getting a 3D facelift.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/27768

The next Fire Emblem game will be for the 3DS, Nintendo announced at their 3DS Conference today.

Few details were offered on the latest entry in the strategy RPG series, but the video shown indicated that the game will not stray far from series conventions. The graphics closely resembled the fully polygonal GameCube and Wii entries in the series.

The Fire Emblem franchise has seen many titles released on Nintendo handhelds over the last decade, so the series' move to 3DS is not a major surprise.

No release details were announced for Fire Emblem 3DS.

To clarify some stuff in here: this will be in Japanese. This is not the first event they streamed from Japan, and they're always in Japanese.

HOWEVER it is a video stream. You will be able to see what they're talking about. If they announce Baten Kaitos III you'll be able to tell from looking at it.

As always, Nintendo World Report will be braving the late night to offer you the best coverage of this event as it happens - In English.

Somebody sent us an email talking about how great it was to have an expert on.

You know, because the usual crew is a bunch of idiots.

Sup, guys?

Keep in mind, there are three movies in play here:

Titanic: The Legend Goes On - This one has the rapping dog and is essentially the plot of every Disney movie ever - on the Titanic. It is dumb.

The Legend of the Titanic - Nobody dies (that was "a myth"). They're saved by a...well I better not spoil that "grand reveal." It is unparalleled in stupidity. The plot involves "worldwide exclusive whaling rights," as if a single person could give someone that.

Tentacoolio - The Legend of the Titanic became paralleled in its stupidity by its sequel. It involves submarines, underwater warfare, and Atlantis.

1283
The Legend of the Titanic.

We did The Titanic: The Legend Goes On before it (which is infamous for a sequence in which a dog raps), but this was much worse.

Also, The Legend of the Titanic has a sequel...which defies reason when you think about the Titanic being...sunk. We did the sequel this week. It has a great many things that boggle the mind.

Can I suggest a non-horror cartoon?

I mean, I watch bad movies with friends every week. We have literally wiped out almost all of the imdb bottom 50. However, this cartoon might have killed one of our numbers had she not dropped out.

I guess Atlus got around to another batch of Radiant Historia. I'm not sure I would have ever found it if I had not reviewed it. I remember when 999 came out I was cursing Aksys for not making more copies. The only copy I saw is the one I bought until months after I beat it.

Our old friend Chris Kohler helps guide us through the confusing world of Japanese gaming news.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rfn/27749

It has been nearly two years since Chris Kohler appeared on RFN, and we are extremely pleased to have him back this week as a sub for Greg. It's perfect timing, too, as the Tokyo Games Show looms and we also have a one-two punch of crazy Nintendo news out of Japan. But first, New Business! Jon is back with some love for Capcom's retro-style DSiWare gem, Dark Void Zero. He also reports on a duo of Resistance games, starting with the control-challenged Retribution on PSP and wrapping up with the apparently redeemed Resistance 3 on PS3. Jonny completed Ghost Trick and describes the arc of his affection for the game. He also got to play Serious Sam: Double D (on Steam), the latest dose of wacky from our friend and former RFN visitor Nathan Fouts at Mommy's Best Games. Mr. Kohler skips over the upcoming DS sequel to Professor Layton, instead treating us to a full diagnosis of the fifth game in the series, Mask of Miracle for 3DS. Then, James pulls into the show just in time to grill Chris on all the details of Layton and Luke's eventual shift into the third D. James himself has a 3DS game as well, but in name only -- it's SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked, and our cranky friend spares no rage for this lazy port.

After the break, we introduce a new, probably rare segment: "WTF Is Going On With Japan Lately?" Considering that Chris Kohler has written a book on Japan's gaming industry (check the back cover for Jonny's quote!), he is the perfect guy to have on the show to discuss this stuff. First up is Monster Hunter 3G and the confirmed (though still hard to believe) 3DS cradle with a second Circle Pad and extra shoulder buttons. Our next topic is the long-awaited reveal of Dragon Quest X, which will be an online RPG for multiple Nintendo platforms. Finally, Chris guides us through a short preview of TGS 2011, where we expect numerous 3DS game announcements as well as the last big push from Vita before Sony's competing handheld launches this fall in Japan.

The devices also aren't built to last, and usually end up breaking after a year anyhow.
Sorry, but my Droid is way sturdier than any handheld Nintendo has ever released.

Really?

Well he has been banned. When  this topic was made it was not a clone.

The thread was reported for politics, but I ignored the report because it was tinfoil hat politics not serious politics.

Capcom cares A LOT about English speakers. They now pick projects with them in mind. However, I'm sure you're more bent out of shape about Edgeworth 2.

While I'd love to play that game, the reason it isn't getting western release is that Edgeworth 1 was outsold by soft-selling Okamiden in under a month despite coming out about 9 months later. I think the fact they were forward with their reasoning and didn't pull the Nintendo "no plans at this time" BS shows they care more than the alternative. And it didn't come from some PR rep at a contract firm, it came directly from a person high in Capcom USA in direct response to a fan post on their message boards. I'd say they care.

Playboy should do another video game issue, with Peach, Chun-Li, and Samus. Hmmm, that might boost sales of their games.

We need more female posters.
