18 is within the period where birthdays equal more priviledges.

I wanted to turn 16 so I could drive.

I wanted to turn 18 so I could vote and see R-rated movies unattended.

I wanted to turn 19 so I could legally drink.

I wanted to turn 21 so I could legally drink in the United States - ie: the "fully enjoy Las Vegas" age.

22 doesn't provide anything.  You're just an adult.  Still a young adult and likely still healthy and attractive and with many good years left.  But you would rather be 21.  At 22 you realize for the first time that it would be better to be younger than your current age than older and I found that hard to take.

Being 18 kicks ass so enjoy it.  I don't really mind being 26 that much either but you're still at the age where you're looking forward instead of back and that's great.
not to me, I acquired all my privileges (and disadvantages) when I turned 18...

Happy late birthday stevey!!

I'm the only one caring about this? ;_;

In any case, US version is apparently confirmed, as it's the new NP cover, with the subtitle "Dawn of the New World"

edit: looks like I missed the window of opportunity that S_B, Ceric, KnowsNothing, KashogiStogi, Kairon & myself had when we posted 8 hours in the future over the last 30-45 or so minutes.
my post on the How much of your Wii library is 3rd party? topic was 8 hours into the future as well =S

actually, most DS games are in the 32-64MB range, with quite a few being 128MB in size... and at least one being 256MB (ASH)

awesomeness... Itachi's motive was kinda unexpected, and loving the fact that great sacrifices have to be made in order to fully unlock the Sharingan...

also, we were shown a new Mangekyou variation... maybe there are more than those three?

Quest 64 was complete and utter failure...

I traded it for a pirate, unable to save progress, copy of StarFox 64... and I still got the better end of the deal...

that got me thinking though, maybe it's a new Indy (movie) game?

so, um, the Linear view is completely borked... for example, I can't see posts newer than my own in the mafia signup thread unless I change the view to Threaded All (which aren't always displayed in correct order anyways)

Actually Rare themselves on their own site indicated that there was nothing stopping Nintendo from putting more of their games on the VC and that Nintendo just hadn't inquired about it. I believe that discussion was regarding the Banjo Kazooie games in particular. Also, at least Donkey Kong 64 and possibly also Diddy Kong Racing will be able to come to the VC in the same way that the Donkey Kong Country games did, because of their use of the DK franchise. I think the most important question is whether we'll be able to get Battletoads.

Nintendo legally owns the Donkey Kong franchise, that's why the Donkey Kong Country games are no problem and they didn't need Microsoft's permission. Diddy Kong Racing is a different story since it contains 2 characters owned by Microsoft (Conker and Banjo), so they would either need to get MS's permission to include them or replace them.
which clearly explains DKRDS existence, don't you think?

this in turn, leads me to belive that, at this point in time, were GE to appear in any console, it would most likely be the DS...

LOL, if it used lasers, every user would be blind now...

The VB used red LEDs (an array of 1x224(*) if memory serves right), simply because other technologies were too slow, and there were no other colored LEDs available at the time (or too expensive to even consider)

*this is also the reason why it wasn't portable (and being unable to strap it around your head)... because, in order to create a full "frame", the VB used a set of mirrors which moved REALLY fast, which I guess would easily break were the machine be moving around...

you know, I'm kinda wondering what kind of crappy reason they're going to use, to explain why Darth Vader/Yoda can't beat their oponents with their eyes closed, as it should be... (I mean, grip/win... pull/stab/win works too!)

they are the same in every Wii, with the exception of the last letter, as that one depends on region...

Depends, someone has to really extract the .bin file to see whats really inside it since any device that can run it treats it just like a replica of a disc(or insert any media storage) and runs it normally. I think thats why theres a brief pause when you boot up a VC game its because the Wii has to run everything in the .bin file and the emulators are in place to probably let the game recognize the inputs of the Wiimote,Classic Controller or gamecube controller.  I wonder if thats the reason why  that VC games can't run off the SD card.
uh, what?

the .bin file is not an image file, it's just a binary file, whose data in this case is encrypted. So, trying to open that file in anything other than a Wii would not work (pretty sure not even a hex editor would help much...)

in any case, I'm willing to bet that the reason the games take a just a little bit to boot (and can't be played from the SD card) is due to the encryption...

I would love to see:
SNES: Demon's Crest, Uniracers, Goof Troop, Kirby SuperStar (never happening with Ultimate for DS =( )
N64: Goemon 64!
NeoGeo: Mark of the Wolves

wishful thinking:
SegaCD: Snatcher
PCEngine: Dracula X

really interesting, but it's pretty clear that the fight just began, lest Kishimoto be mauled by fans, after hyping this fight forever...

I, for one, would love the fight to end there, it would mean a lot if it did...
