in that case i have no effing clue why re2 isnt represented in the game, ya happy now :-P

all i know is an re4 styled re2 remake (or any other game  in the series) would be awesome, and i'd for it to sell well so capcom can put newer re games on wii.

If Nintendo can come up with a fun way too learn a language through a video game, be it Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, etc.....they'd have a huge hit on their hands.  I'd love too learn Spanish if only too understand some of the interesting looking shows on Telemundo

you're not missing out much on telemundo. in fact like 99.9% of the shows can be watched with the sound off because every damn show has some of the HOTTEST women imaginable... even one of the news casters is hot!!! i saw a video once where they covered spring break and she stripped down to a thong bikini!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Manhunt 2 from Rockstar? Whoa...
« on: September 13, 2007, 07:49:17 AM »
so has anyone seen the videos that gametailers.com has up for manhunt 2?
supposedly their the UNCENSORED version of various weapon killings, and i must say...

their not as gruesome as i thought. after seeing those videos i honestly dont see how this violence is any different then stuff we've already seen. especially when you take the graphics into consideration... things look even less realistic. if this was an HD game but had the same art style i could see being a little more grossed out by some of these death animations but as it is.. its kinda laughable.

in most cases its just a head exploding, like in re4 except re4 looks muuuuch better, and much more gruesome because of it. in Manhunt2 theirs just a ridiculous amount of blood that is reminiscent of the splatters you'd see in an Oldschool mortal kombat game. it doesnt look realistic in anyway, and the camera pans around so much that you dont see much of whats going on. I'm not implying the camera controls suck, everyone by now should know that when you go into one of these death animations the camera changes angles to stylize the violence, but the way it does it actually tones down the violence because you can never truly see whats going on.

the most gruesome thing i saw was a Death by Sythe animation... your character jumps on the back of another character (in one of the many possible animations you'll see) and begins to tear the "enemy's" face off.... or maybe he's pulling his brain out thru his nose..... honestly you CANT TELL. all you see is a hand w/ sythe in front of the characters face, lots of fake looking blood (loooks too thick and cartoonish) and then his head explodes as he falls off screen.

so yeah, you cant tell whats going on but i still found it to be the most gruesome death, why? i think it has to do with the fact that in other forms of media, like film, we're so used to seeing more, much more and in more detail, that our brain "fills in the blanks" so to speak. all i was a hand with a weapon in front of someones face and my brain told me to think "he's pulling out his brain thru his nose." does that make me a sick person, or does that simply show that i enjoyed reading about Egyptian culture and knew that the brains of the deceased were pulled out via the nasal cavity before mumification and had an idea of what it would look like because i've seen it done in R rated movies..?

after seeing that i feel really cheated that what ships on halloween next month will be a toned down version of a game that wasnt even that violent....

ps.

the scene where you wrip someones testes out with a pair of pliers (sp?) was lame. the guy is just standing there when you sneak up behind him and your hand goes between his legs, lots more of that fake looking blood then you have an unidentifiable object you throw away. same thing goes for the version of it where you rip out their throat. you cant tell what you ripped out, you just see something red in the pliers but the guys neck is intact..

But in RE2 you FIGHT Birkin, who is the one who developed the G-virus in the first place!  ;_;

but he wasnt sent by umbrella to kill you. everything that happens is pure bad luck on leon and claires part, more so on leon since he was just trying to make a living and clair was being a nosey b*tch and trying to look for chris. thats why i said you stumble upon will birkins and the g-virus, which umbrella didnt know about, and he becomes that giant thing you have to kill repeatadly at the end of the game.

in re1 you're there because you were setup and are being used to train the BOWs to kill STARS operatives, and in re3 you're being hunted by their best BOW (nemesis) in order to eliminate the knowledge of their role in the racoon city "incident."

as for re0, i dont know the story to well (having never played it ) but isnt the train in which you start the game on owned by umbrella? so again, the story pertains DIRECTLY to umbrella more so than the events of re2 and code veronica

Well if i remember correctly their stories and the events of RE2 (and what i've read about code veronica for that matter) aren't as involved with Umbrella as the three included scenarios are.

in re2 you stumble across the information that william birkins develops a new virus he wants to keep secret from umbrella ann how the original virus contaminated the city in the first place. though a remake of re 2 (or 0,1,3, and CV for that matter) will be much welcomed imo.

but not as big a joke as recommending Kid Icarus "for everyone", that game is TEH HARD!

12083
i've played about 5 matches in total, two ranked three with friends, farthest being panama, and i've never had a connection that wasnt 5 star.

what else could it be?

12084
Do they address any of the issues about online aspects of the game, like why i still can't play ranked matches?

i stopped playing out of frustration, that and i can't get passed the qualification rounds in the second cup

but i blame that on online anyway since i always try to play online first, then because i can't i'll try finishing the cups and i'm playing while angry

the real reason nintendo didnt release Duck Hunt 2 with the wii zapper:

lots of those new non-gamers/casuals are PETA loving P**sy types that would hate on nintendo for promoting cruilty towards animals. if this helps get pam anderson shaking a wiimote in an experience video (in slow motion to boot) then its all WIN.

/joke

i can see where some of the hate is coming from but, like strell said you dont know sh*t about the game so you're a stupid elite fanboy for dismissing it right away

not so fast for the rest of you, because automatically loving it is just as fanboyish.

I personally won't accuse nintendo of milking the Zelda series until i see how the game is, and that doesnt just mean screenshots or vids either. i want to play it for myself and see if its any good. if its something like the Can Shooter game in WW:SM (ie screen - press start - play - game  over), thats when i'll start to worry. But if it delivers something more than i won't start to worry about seeing a Zelda Monopoly or trivial pursuit mini game compilation in the future.

as for the crossbow hate, c'mon.. is that really such a big deal? crossbows arent something that would'nt fit in the midieval-type Zelda universe. Its not like its a laser gun, rocket launcher, or a pistol/rifle. Their not turning this into Grand Theft Epona guys... geez

It would be awesome to get some Contra music in there! since the chamber of getting one of those Contra guys in the game are slim, it would be cool if snake had an alt costume where he has his shirt off. Players wouldn't make the connection right away... Until a flying eagle-item-capsule-thing comes floating by! you hit it and snake gets a spread shot or a laser or [\insert favorite Contra weapon here] and he gets to do those little summersault jumps. Thats when you realize Snake would make an awesome 3rd guy in Contra

OMG that movie was SICK in the best was possible!!!

It had all the bad-assery of 300* with none of the homo-eroticism(sp?). A truly must see movie.

*depends on your taste in bad-assery, whether you like gun action or physical action. This movie lacked the latter but excelled in the former

from the lil 8bit melody to the heavy metal, hell i wouldnt mind the noise either, that whole battle was just awesome and the music helped make it that good!

Edit: checked starmen.net for a music link and the main song i was thinking of is titled "pokey means business," not sure if thats their title or an official one but who cares!? the song rocks and for those who dont know it, do yourself a favor:

i'm not sure if i should count this or not because this boss was made damn hard on the highest difficulty level, on anything under he was fairly simple, but i'll submit it for your approval anyway:

The emporer alien thingy from Perfect Dark.

i couldnt for the life of me get to him on the perfect difficulty level and the few times that i did i was raped. im a fairly average - above average console FPS player but that level made me feel like a noob or something.

Really, almost anything from EB, as long as they're better than the Mother/EB music in Melee.  Didn't really like any of those remixes.
DKC2 - Mine!
DKC2 - Ship Deck 2 (the upbeat rag take on the first level's theme)
SMB3 Akihabara Electric Circus - Waterfront (very awesome remix!)

i'll be honest i havent read thru the entire thread but how can you not specifically mention the Giygas battle theme!?!?!???!?????! thats by far THE SINGlE BEST VIDEO GAME COMPOSITION I'VE EVER HEARD. plus its the only SNES game i know of that uses a double bass pedal in the drums making it the most metal song on SNES

General Chat / RE:iPod Touch
« on: September 08, 2007, 09:03:40 AM »

fall asleep listening to music, wake up listening to music, shower, eat, and even held a couple of jobs where i listened to music (that i liked) at work. when i go out the stereo is always blasting, i even made a lil whole in the pannel so that my AUX cable sticks thru so i can hook up my mp3 player or a friends ipod just to keep the music flowing (if not i use mp3 cd's but even when i have like 200 songs on those i find myself switching out for other mp3 cd's like craaazy). so yeah, music is a big part of my life and i like to have lots of different things with me at all times becuase you never know what mood you'll be in, and im sure you can understand. i just wouldnt want to compromise what i listen to, because thats how i see it as. I wouldnt remember to switch out albums or artists to keep refreshing the player, i'd rather just have it all in and not fuss with it. That way if i'm driving home in the rain and feeling bummed out i can put on something slightly depressing to fit the mood, or if its super sunny out and every girl on the street is wearing tiny tops and short-shorts i can blash something dancy and fun to get my energy up and just feel good, of if im pissed i can put on some metal and just thrash inside my head lol. The one thing i can't stand is listening to a song, remembering another one having that feeling of "ugh.. damn i dont have that on here..." it just blows, and ruins my day man.

it may be unnecessary but like you said, it is convenient, and i'd just rather have it then not.

the storage space isn't the only issue though, the price is a hurdle for me. I know its been reduced but  between the price of the phone itself and pricing plans, theres no waay i could afford that (hell i cant afford anything right now but that a whooooole other story). correct me if im wrong, the minimum charge is around $60 for 500mins a month right? i dont remember how many text messages are included with the data plan but i know for unlimited its a pretty hefty fee. I'm basically a text whore. alot of my friends text me from work because its much easier than making a call and im fine with it, but it did get out of hand for a bit so i upgraded to unlimited and i dont have to worry. My plan (with tmobile) is $60 a month with 1500 mins (no free nights/weekends tho) and unlimited text. by the end of the month i have like 200 mins to spare, give or take, and a countless amount of text. Heres an example.. my current bill started on the 29th, its the 8th today and i've used: 2022 text messages so far. Lets see how many i use by the end of the month.

fact is to get what i need out of it as a phone is just going to be too expensive considering my alternatives. maybe by the 2nd or 3rd generation iphone a bigger storage capacity will finally pursauade me to drop my dollar on it, but as of now i just cant. Like is said i can barely afford my phone bill as is (out of steady work, doing freelance stuff to get by) but when i do get a steady job i will plan to upgrade, just not to an iphone. Maybe in the future, cuz it is a cool little product.

oh and if i did find a portable storage device with over 2 terabytes of storage i wouldnt tell you about it. not to be greedy i just dont know you well enough to embrace your man love :-P

ps good luck on the rock opera!

Just so you know, there may be songs from other games that are left as is, without any new arrangement.

Arrangements and the possibly of the original versions of songs? Awesome. =D

I took that to mean the songs from Melee would be left unchanged, but you could be right too.

Someone refresh my memory: Did the Classic levels in melee have new music or were they the original SSB versions?
