Since when has it been standard for games to have a way to reset the save data?  And not holding in the reset button while you turn the power off doesn't count.

I've had this for a long time thanks to the Orange Box, but I've never played it.  Kind of feel like a chump now.

I guess this explains the TF2 beta I've had available in my Steam library.

I sucked at Bit.Trip Beat so I never bought any of the others.  Now I'm tempted by the 3DS version.  Maybe touch screen controls will work better for me than jittery tilt controls?  I don't think more difficulty is going to be for me.  :-\

You missed a few apostrophes and probably meant probably instead of problem.

There were more probablys than that, but I'm not about to go all English teacher on it.  I just wanted to point out that misusing "dearth" in this context struck me as sadly hilarious.

What's really frustrating about this is that Nintendo just said they wanted to try to get core gamers back with the Wii U, and here NoA is willfully ignoring an opportunity to release a game core gamers might like.  Probably three opportunities, like Kytim89 said.

Is NoA too busy giving their critics ammunition to give us games?  I don't guess I'll give up all hope unless NoA confirms the story, but I doubt they'll actually do anything more than quietly hope everyone forgets about it.

That was me in talkback, and it's still happening when I preview a post more than once.  It did show up in the final post at first, but it was gone later.  Maybe it only showed up for me?  I've taken to copying my post, canceling, and posting it without using preview.

Well Nintendo's Channel system is genius, just imagine a Nintendo Shop Channel, an EA Channel, a Steam Channel, a Sqaure Enix Channel

I shouldn't have to enter a channel to make use of what should be system-wide online features.  I certainly shouldn't have to lock myself out of interaction with friends in EA games while I play a Valve game on the Steam Channel.

Is Tingle in the game or something?  'Cause I don't see any reason for this.

I thought this was made perfectly clear during the conference when Iwata made the announcement.

I'm terrified to even attempt to count the games in my backlog, but I wish you luck on your endeavor.

I occasionally load up VVVVVV just to play time trials and hear the music again.  I even got a couple of V rankings, too, but I don't expect to beat any more challenges.

I just wanted to add that Siliconera was reporting that
"Square Enix is in the technical investigation phase when it comes to Wii U. The company is also examining whether to support Wii U with a launch title."

They've got about a year till launch. Wouldn't that mean a port of something that's already coming up?
FFXIII Vs?
What games do they have that aren't seeing release till sometime mid-2012?

I predict the sequel to Dragon Quest Swords:  Dragon Quest Shields.

So third party characters as DLC, primarily as bonuses when you buy other games?  That would certainly help sell third party games on the Wii U, and get around that whole "Mega Man isn't in Brawl because nobody asked in time" thing.  I like it.

I think the most iconic classic NES era third party characters would be appropriate inclusions, even over Nintendo's own D-listers, and aside from Little Mac and Ridley, most of the suggestions I'm seeing really are D-listers.

Dragon Quest is supremely popular in Japan, yes?  Normally, it isn't a system seller because it's brought out on whichever console is already the most popular, but Wii U special features could be a big deal depending on what they are.  The only example I can think of is the GBA-only shop in the Zelda Oracle games, which was pretty insignificant.  Hopefully, Nintendo will recognize the possible coup and work closely with Squeenix to do something worthwhile.

Edit: I can't make this stupid post not end in "null null null."

Well, I guess I need to make a decision soon.  I'm thinking about a Droid X2, but I've been wishy-washy for a while because I've never owned a smart phone before.  I mean, I've been debating this since the Droid 2 came out.

What will happen to people on unlimited plans before then?  Are they in the clear until their contract expires?

Look at PCs.  Especially someplace like Steam.  PC game prices are highly variable compared to all other medias.

Even for physical media, you never see PC games released for over $50... unless it's console trash that no one really wants, like Call of Duty.

I was surprised by how different the user reviews are on Amazon for the PC version of COD games versus the console version. The reviews for the console versions of COD are usually overwhelmingly positive, but the PC version reviews are overwhelmingly negative. Its weird because its supposed to be the same game.

That's because Hell hath no fury like a PC gamer who thinks his game has been ruined by concessions made in a game for console players.  Elite PC gamers believe their games would have larger maps, faster load times, more options, and smoother gameplay if not for the low performance and clumsy controllers of consoles.  And they're generally right.

But it's not a remote....

until I download the universal remote app from the eShop. ;)

Agreed so hard.  Nintendo's about to hook up a few million tablets to the world's entertainment centers, and they're the one company that I'm sure wouldn't even consider the applications beyond their own console. :-\

These will be weekly, I swear.

Good luck with that.  It is incredibly hard to hold the snark back, I hope you know.  ;)

Little Nemo is weird and awesome.  The train level is brutal, though, and put a stop to my long ago attempt to play through it.

Super Mario Land 2 is pretty likely to hit the shop sooner or later, and I recommend it to anyone who missed it, but I already played it to death when I was a kid.  I'm more interested in gems I missed, such as Donkey Kong, and I'm not convinced there are many of those.  The only game I already own that I'm sure I'd buy again is the One True Tetris, but something tells me it's not likely to be made available.  :-\

Edit: I take that back.  I might buy Motocross Maniacs, too, just for an occasional fix.

No disrespect, but that looks more like fake tan orange than Zelda gold to me.

It does look like a little bit of bronzer was used, but what exactly is the Zelda gold? Because even Nintendo has been quite inconsistent with it.

As long as it looks more like a trophy wife's jewelry and less like her arms, I don't think it matters too much.

What was wrong with LJN?

They published all the stuff that Acclaim didn't want to, largely because they were worse.

If you're worse than Acclaim, you are positively fecal.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was not without its charms.

I think the Links' B moves should be a little more differentiated, but it's probably a little too late for that now since the games that would inspire them are a bit dated and from the time before Nintendo's rise in popularity.  Or maybe not!  It's speculation time, anyway.  Wind Waker had some unique items that could have worked well, like the Deku Leaf, for example.  There's also the different kinds of seeds that could be shot from a slingshot in the Oracle games.  Toon Link could fire one of those at random instead of an arrow, with effects such as a mini-tornado, fire, etc.  There are a lot of other items from the history of the Zelda series to draw from.  I think adult Link should keep the classic bombs and arrows, though he should be able to bowl bombs along the ground like in Skyward Sword.  Adult Link should have the spin attack still, and Toon Link should get something else for his Up+B recovery move, and get the hurricane spin for a Final Smash.

Speaking of which, Final Smashes need to be fixed.  Some of them are nearly useless, and some are nearly guaranteed victories.  Too many of them break the normal flow of gameplay completely.  I think they should be very powerful moves that fit into the regular game, and not cinematic nonsense.  None of them should be guaranteed KOs.  If that can't be done, then they should be dropped entirely.

It also wouldn't hurt my feelings to only have one Link in the roster.  They dropped Dr. Mario and Pichu instead of trying to turn them into not-quite clones, after all.  There wasn't any pressing need to save Young Link.  They can also drop the Ice Climbers, but I only say that because I hate them.  ;)

I found it incredibly odd that Brawl gave Mario FLUDD but didn't give Luigi the PolterGust to match.  Now that Super Mario Sunshine is even more forgotten and the Galaxy games have made the spin attack even more a part of Mario, FLUDD will likely be dropped again, and yet Luigi's Mansion 2 is going to make the inclusion of the PolterGust even more fitting.  I find it a little sad that there was a chance for some nice symmetry, but it was missed.

No disrespect, but that looks more like fake tan orange than Zelda gold to me.  Not that you can really trust any colors on any monitor in existence.

I'd pay extra for a Darth Vader Wii U.  I hope that we can transfer accounts to a new system this time so I can upgrade to a black one when they finally release one.

Was DD the first game to prove that wailing on virtual people with a baseball bat was awesome?  'Cause that would be notable, too.

The NES version was also notable for one of the classic cheats/glitches of the 8-bit era: the invincible invisible dude in the first level.

A friend of mine beat Battletoads.  He has my undying respect.

3. Rebelstar Tactical Command

Really?  It was pretty good, but also pretty flawed.

I'm really, really surprised Drill Dozer isn't on the site's list.
