I'm guessing(since you didn't say it anywhere) that based on the names of the horses, this is being made by Namco Bandai?

This is definitely one game I don't want to live without.  From reading the bit about the music, I think Nobuo Uematsu is only doing the theme to the game.  Still awesome though.

That story on how Masahiro Sakurai came to be director of the game, it seems he made a lot of sacrifices to do this game.  The fact that Eiji Aonuma's words to him are what convinced him is pretty amazing.  I'm glad he decided to do it because I agree that it would have lost some part of its soul if he was not a part of it.

I thought we knew online already, just that at this time they can only do 2 player.  They are trying to get it to work with 4 player hopefully before they have to release it.

Hey Caliban, you were beaten with the info and a link to the story was provided.  Corruption sounds really cool.

Actually, Sony announced at their press conference that they had "SHIPPED" 17 million.  Still doesn't say how many they actually sold though.  I know I always see a bunch of PSPs on store shelves.

Though I'm guessing you've already seen, Namco has a huge amount of Wii games coming and Capcom has a Resident Evil game.  I was hoping for more from Capcom, but at least they are showing support.

Here's a better link for the shell.
It looks like an SNES controller, only fatter with two analog sticks, a home button, and two Z buttons which look like they are inbetween the L & R buttons.

I personally like it, though I wonder how easy it will work with N64 games.

Dagnabbit, fixed the link.

Man, in the next couple of weeks, English Training is going to break a million copies!!  That is just crazy.  And Brain Training 2 is going to pass up Brain Training 1 by next week.  I'm also guessing that by the end of the year, Animal Crossing will pass 3 million copies sold.

Ken Kutaragi made a statement about shipment numbers.  One thing caught my eye:
Quote

Kutaragi also took the time to comment on Sony's shipping targets for the system. SCE plans to have two million units available at launch (the Japanese press reports this as the initial shipment figure for the system, and not a number that will be gradually released over a launch window), with another two million by the end of the year and two million more before the end of March 2007. Regarding this, Kutaragi said, "Of course, this is a number that we announced having made sure we can definitely prepare it. There is the possibility of unexpected problems like earthquake or theft, so I won't say it's absolute, but if this type of trouble does not occur, there's no problem with this number."

This almost makes me think, if they really can't make this number, will they state that a huge shipment of PS3's were stolen and ultimately caused a shortage in shipments.  I could seriously see them doing this to save face.

FYI, "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers" will also be a launch title for the Wii!!!!  Rock on!!!

FYI, it's from the update on the IGN link.  Just go to the SE IGN article and check the top.

That sounds like fun actually.  3 Sword Zoro.  3 Wiimote LOUiE.  Yeah, that would rule.

I just decided to reminisce through the many pages here and it's funny, looking back now, at people all concerned over the PSP outselling the DS in early 05 in Japan for 10 straight weeks.  People were worried about things that I can't even remember now.  The DS is a phenomenom that erased my memory!!!

Oh, so that is where all the PSP sales are.  I knew they had to sell more than just systems.  The games just don't sell lots of copies.

I think the sensor bar is only there for precise aiming, like with FPS's and doesn't need to be there when precise aiming is not needed.

If you can use GC controllers to play the Virtual Console games, I see no point in bundling the shell with the system.  Drop the GC controllers to $15 and make sure to have the retailers tell the consumers about using a GC controller for the VC.

Shouldn't the title of the thread be "DS Lite release date"?  Or if you do edit it, why not add the June 11th date in the title as well.

I guess this is good for me.  I'm getting married on June 10 and so will be on a plane while this is selling out everywhere.  That way, I can just use my GBA on the plane and not worry about wanting to play my DS while on my HONEYMOON!!!  Yeah, I'd be an idiot if I gave myself that temptation...and gave my wife that same temptation. :P

Maybe an Iron Wok Jan style game, where it's all about winning and you totally humiliate your opponent if you can.  Of course, sometimes you can be shocked out of cooking by your opponent if they are good enough.  That would be great fun and the dialogue would be hilarious.

TalkBack / RE: New Racing Game on Wii
« on: May 01, 2006, 03:30:30 PM »
I'm going to guess it is Donkey Kong Racing, the racer that was supposed to show up on GC as a sequel to Diddy King Racing.  Maybe they just moved it up to Wii or something, because it wasn't innovative enough as a GC game or something.
