They get up to about 2 GB, but not really any higher than that, at least that I've seen.
Mass Effect 2 is over 12GB and downloadable on the PSN.

Well... I'm was stuck the boss of MP1 and somewhere near the end of MP2, so I never felt that I deserved to start MP3 until I atleast see the final boss of MP2.
Just watch a speedrun of the game.  It'll still give you the final boss and the ending as well.  I could not beat the final boss for some reason on MP2 and went with this route.  I felt perfectly fine playing MP3 afterwards. :)

Or just make the forum the front page.  Saves you time and effort.

Yes, give me Four Swords Adventure Cafe and include the GC version in some capacity.  That is the number one game I want from the Cafe.  I probably won't buy a Cafe until this game is released for it.

Is it known yet if the Nintendo World Store in NYC will be holding an event? I'd love to go and experience the hype train 1st hand second hand, instead of checking in on the forums a day or two after the event for recaps.
Why can't you watch it live with us online?

I've been playing SNES games on my PS3. The greatest thing about it is that it upscales every game I throw at it to either 720p or 1080p (your pick).

It looks glorious coming out of my projector.

So I wouldn't worry about it looking like piss.

Well that's the question.  Will it upscale or will Nintendo not offer that ability out of either laziness or ignorance?
If the system doesn't upscale, your tv will so stop worrying about it.

The Dual Shock doesn't count because Dual Shock2 was the standard from day one for the PS2. So it started out as a peripheral on one system and then became a default feature on the successor system. Dual Shock1 must be judged by how well it performed for PS1, because that was the system where it was a peripheral.
DS2 was exactly the same outside of the pressure face buttons (which I think maybe 3 games used).  You could even used the DS1 controllers on the PS2 and they worked exactly the same.

We were 90% certain it was fake already so it's good to be at about 99% now. :)

Dual shock controller should be considered a success since it became standard for the PS2 and eventually the PS3 as well.  The EyeToy had about 4 or 5 games made specifically for it.  The PS3 actually has the PSEye, not the EyeToy.  They removed the Toy from the name to try and make it sound like it was more sophisticated.  The PSEye is required for the Move controller to work.  It works like the Wii Sensor Bar but also lets you view yourself on the screen as well and has pretty good spacial recognition.

Technically the Dual Shock controller for the PS1 was an add-on that became standard like Motion+.

Yeah, I've played the DS version and the GBA version.  The DS version has the same story and besides the added features, plays out the same as the original just with voice acting and 3D models.  I've enjoyed it so far but still prefer the original which the GBA version mimicks much better.  I am hoping to play the PSP version at some point.  I may just buy it and then get an NGP when that releases.  I have no idea.

The 3DS could be used for certain games as an extra controller if it was programmed into the game.  It most likely won't be a required feature.

That's intriguing.  Release the Cafe next year for $350.  Then in 2014 when the PS4 comes out, release an upgrade that would be about $100-150.  Stop selling the Cafe by itself and start selling the Cafe+ for $350-400 which included the upgrade so all new systems sold would have it.  Then make sure all software would be compatible with both systems unless specifically noted.

I don't think you could do it past one upgrade though.

1540
Possibly.  I'm afraid Nintendo will not release any specs like they didn't with the Wii and the 3DS.  It was all other sources who put out what was in the 3DS and my guess is we'll not know what's in the Cafe until much closer to release.

1541
I wonder if they'll stick with their 1T-SRAM that they've used the last two generations.  I know the Wii had some of that and some DDR2 as well.  I'm wondering if GDDR5 Ram is faster than current 1T-SRAM or not.

Actually, a 4850 isn't a 4870 with GDDR3 RAM.  It does have higher clock speeds and higher memory speeds as well.  Using the 4850 architecture and tweaking it to fit Nintendo's needs would probably make it act closer to a 4870 though.

1542
So Newegg was selling a 4850 1GB DDR3 graphics card for essentially $40 ($110 regular with $40 instant rebate and $30 MIR).  This tells me this tech is now super cheap.  So it's sounding like IGN is probably spot on for the graphics power in the Cafe.

I'm getting more excited now.

The PS1 may have been a more powerful system, but the leap from the late era SNES games to PS1 is miniscule and very much comparable to the leap from the GC to the Wii. Many late era SNES games actually looked better than the majority of PS1 games. So yeah, the CD drive was the only remarkable improvement there.
Please site examples of late SNES games that looked better than PS1 games.  I can't recall any to that effect.
FYI, in regards to n64 vs Dreamcast, Sonic Adventure could run rings around anything on the N64.  I have never seen a game run on the N64 that looked better than the first Sonic game made on the DC.

1544
It could be the announcement of the name of the system like they did with the Wii and announcing that name a bit before E3 so the talk wouldn't be about the name but the games.

they needed a HDD to install the OS and run the games.
That was my thought as well.

I like creme.  Foam!!

25GB of embedded RAM would be immensely expensive.  The 1GB for $11 is for one stick of 1GB ram.  It would be way too expensive to interface with 25 sticks of RAM.  So it's more likely you'd have to go with denser ram. On Newegg, the most dense ram I could find was 4GB stick.  The cheapest (with absolutely horrible timings and a type that Nintendo would never use) is $38.99 for the stick.  So 6 sticks would be $233.94.  A quarter of that price is $58.49.  I don't think they'd be able to get this much ram for that price.

Though let's say price wasn't a problem.  The real problem is heat.  This much embedded RAM would be like a furnace.  If there was this much ram, it would make everyone forget that the 360's RRoD ever existed.  You'd have the system at 80C on idle and catching on fire the moment you load a game into it (yes I'm exagerating).  So it's either that or a jet engine decible loud fan to cool it.

1548
The Wii2 needs to not be limited by storage.
This is why it is rumored that you will have options for what storage type you want.  Install an HDD/SSD, plug in a USB HDD, use an SD card or even a USB thumb drive.  It will all work we hope.

There will just be 8GB of onboard space like the $200 360 has 4GB of onboard space.

I hope this means good things for Beyond Good & Evil 2 ::crosses fingers::
Ancel has stated in a recent French magazine that the game is on hold due to limitations of current hardware. Could this mean he wants to move it to the Cafe?

I thought that the 3rd party list was pretty realistic.  Though I really doubt there be a PSO2 because I like the Gamecube one soooo much. (I have an insane amount of hours in single player and I had a network adapter just for the game but, people wanted to talk to much online.)
PSO2 is being made.  It's right now only a PC game in Japan, but it's official.
