Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U

Should we all hope that the Wii U is a commercial flop so that Nintendo will be forced to do things right with their next console?

LOL @ the people who thought MS and Sony would announce new systems this year.
Call of Duty
It sounds better, if you're playing a game on just the Gamepad and hear something on the left, you'll know it's to the left...clues for "scanning" things, etc, etc.
Where was the bomb Nintendo? You never dropped it!
That proves it's old info from last year.
Not necessarily. "Cafe" is the development name, just as "Revolution" was the dev name for the Wii, and "Dolphin" was for the Gamecube. Since this document was probably intended for developers eyes only, it actually adds more weight to this being the real deal because if someone were to hoax this they would probably put "Wii U" even though that's not the name used by the development team.
Nobody calls it "Cafe" anymore. And that was never an actual codename for the system, it was just a rumor.

Unless you want to transfer everything on your current HDD over to the new one though. Creating a backup requires an external HDD and the backup process takes FOREVER. My suggestion is you put any saves and pictures and music you have that you want to keep onto a usb thumbdrive. Then switch the HDDs, then put all that stuff back on afterwards and just redownload all the games again. It'll probably be faster. My only gripe about PS+ is my current HD is the low 20GB modelAt least from what I've heard its really simple to swap the harddrives.. Really should upgrade to 500GB+ drive because Sony's giving weekly Freebies all the time.
It is. The only tool you need is a screwdriver and about 5 minutes of your time. There are plenty of video tutorials you can find on youtube to show you how to perform the procedure.
It would be nice if we got NSMBU as a pack-in instead though, but then it wouldn't sell 500 billion copies on it's own.
Thinking more about third party support, what the Wii U should be getting is whatever big games are going to the PS360 for THIS Christmas. Not some one year old stuff but specifically what is in the pipeline for the Christmas season. REAL third party support would mean getting the same stuff at the same time. I don't give a **** about Black Ops II but it SHOULD be there. Yeah, the Wii U is a new system but Activision SHOULD have gotten the devs kits in time to do it.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a title that follows that line. That's a new game. It isn't some old ass port. At least we know Namco is treating the Wii U right.

And if you want to talk about it, I'm not yet comfortable that the third party support will be all that hot. Looks better than the Wii but not yet any better than the Cube (which still missed out on a LOT of "every system but Nintendo" releases).
It seems some of you don't understand Nintendo. Nintendo's core audience is, and will always be families and family friendly entertainment.
Between the ending controversy and the lack of Mass Effects 1 or 2 on the Wii U (that we know of), I don't see any reason why anyone should buy this version of the game. If you don't have a PS3 or 360, get the PC versions of the trilogy. If you don't have a powerful-enough gaming PC...get a better one. Seriously, this is like starting the Star Wars trilogy with Return of the Jedi or your favorite serialized TV series with the last episode.
And no, if Mass Effect 2 PS3's terrible "interactive comic" is any indication, EA is not likely to make a recap for ME3 that would be an appropriate substitute for the actual Mass Effects 1 and 2.
I like digital clickers better than analog anyway.
Battalion Wars. The one thing that's always held it back is the clunky interface, but the screen would fix that and be a perfect way to command the troops.
The only "rumors" of a 3DS revision at E3 I have seen are fanboys saying they want one. I don't think one will happen anytime soon. It's much too early, and the only issue needing fixing really is the battery.
Nintendo keeps surprising me at how aggressive they can be when they want to be. Poor 3DS, being put in a corner...
