Does F-Zero even have a two-player mode? I swear it was single-player only on SNES, but maybe I'm mixing two things up here.

Aw man. It really is just single player only. Bummer. It's one of the few games I've kept pecking away and messing around in. Was looking forward to shocking other users with my F-Zero prowess.

In any case, I'd be game for a future session too, maybe this weekend or next week?. How set are you on beating a game Khush? Am a tad swamped right now, so an hour or two might be my max.
Also fair warning I'm bad at platformers but you know I wanna see Khush clobber dinosaurs in Joe & Mac. Also willing to lose at Mario Kart or try some beat-em-ups (Brawl Brothers? Peacekeepers?).

I want to beat a lot of games! All 34 (and whatever else gets added)! We are going to start from the top and work ourselves all the way down to the bottom of the list! I'll drag you kicking and screaming if I have to!

Obviously that won't happen since there are a bunch of single player games but there are a bunch I do want to beat but I'm also open to replaying games with other users if they want to have a finished version as well. If some of you want to play through games like Super Mario World or DK, I'll accommodate and play the same games with different users. (Of course, there's nothing preventing other people with users in this thread beside me. I don't have to be the only partner.)

I'm ok if the play session is 30 minutes or an hour or something longer or shorter. As long as we can meet up often enough then we can get through a lot of games. These SNES games don't often take too long to beat. But if all you want is to just dabble a bit and experience my Koopa / Kremling / Cro-Magnon bashing skills then that is doable but I think it would be nice to at least complete the adventure together if possible. If there's just a select few titles you want to cross off your to-do list then mention them and we can start chipping away. This weekend could work depending on the time you think you'd be available.

I am here to let you know I fired up my WiiU yesterday for some PROPER Mario Maker

I was just thinking of doing that. I saw MM2 was on sale right now and it got me thinking of how I need to pop in the first one and get playing it. I told Mop it up I'd play through her courses once I got the game and instead I've sat on the game for a couple years.

I'm also contemplating on getting an external hard drive for my Wii U. When playing Tropical Freeze, it needed an update and this required me going through and deleting other updates for games to make room. I've still got a lot of Wii U games to get through and chances are they'll have updates.

Moreover, next month I'm going deep into XCX finally. After playing XC:DE, I've got an itch for more  XC gameplay. It helped me understand a lot of what was happening when I first played XCX 5 years ago and now I want to apply those lessons. I'm thinking I'll start over to refresh myself completely on the story and in case I was making poor choices at the start with my characters. Plus, I have 10 days off at the end of the month and I'm contemplating adding a week's vacation for 17 days of leisure. But I'll want those XCX performance downloads and that data is big so the external hard drive would be a good place to store it.

In any case, I will continue to be a true Nintendo Gaming Hero and use my Wii U.

I've been meaning to set this up for awhile but I'm finally ready scheduling wise to do this pretty regularly. (I hope.) I'm not sure how many games or how much of the service others have used but I've been wanting to do get through more titles and arrange for more 2 player action with the games on it. I've made vague offers to play Kirby Super Star with Mop it up and Lost Levels with pokepal148 (although I'm not going to hold them to those games if they don't want to play them. But there's a lot more I'd be willing to meet up and play like the DKC games, Joe and Mac, Picross, Twin Bee, and more.

Are there other posters out there that want to get more SNES action happening? If so, jump in this thread and let me know. Tell me when you are free to play and what you want to play and let's start matching up and scheduling some play time. I'd like to make it so that it is a regular weekly meet-up but if it has to be a case by case time for availability then I'll do what I can to make that work also. We can try playing using the Nintendo Online Voice Chat app or do it over NWR's Discord as well.

For myself, I'm ready to make things work pretty much any night at or after 8:00 PM EST (although maybe not Thursday evenings) and on weekends I can probably be available even earlier from 2:00 PM EST. Personally, I'm looking to playing through the DKC games (preferably in VS mode) with some Mario's Super Picross mixed in but I'm open to other stuff as well like F-Zero racing, Mario Kart Battle Mode, Super Soccer or other games that user's who sign up may want to dabble in. Let's get N or get out!

Of all the suggestions I posted way back when talking about Forum Changes, the one suggestion I still keep bringing up and seems to stay relevant is this one:

It might be an interesting idea to create a "Forum User's Podcasts" or "Forum User's Content" section. This would provide a spot for the Radio Free Nintendo podcasts to go and be easily collected/grouped. I've always thought it a bit of an awkward fit for them to be grouped in the General Chat forum. This "Forum User's (Something)" forum would be an open forum unlike the other Podcast forum(s) and Talkback which are Reply Only. This way, if other members want to create a podcast, they have a vehicle/section to promote and place them. Plus, we sometimes get a person creating an account here to make a topic in General Chat or Console gaming in order to promote a YouTube video/channel they have or website they've created only to disappear after. Now those lowbrow marketing attempts could be moved over to this subforum and help keep the other forums free of it. As well, if our users want to link or post things like websites they've created, YouTube videos/channels they have or Let's Play links/videos along with Podcasts, this would be the section for it. That's why User Content might be a better catch-all name for it but it is just hypothetical at the moment.

Having that section would keep users from always feeling guilty about posting or promoting personal projects.


Anyways, good job to your wife for following through with writing. I've had plenty of ideas but whenever I try to start writing or do the work on it, my enthusiasm soon fizzles out. Just being able to finish writing a book is an accomplishment to be proud of its own. Congrats to her for now doing it twice!

Well, after going back to this game to beat the story during Backl-August, I moved on to finish other games and play through DKCR:TF. But I still felt the pull of going back to complete my goal of getting all the map treasures. Popped this game in Sunday and did that. I noticed that a good chunk of the treasures were the character cards. Looked at my character cards and I still needed 80 of them. Wrote down a list of what I needed and decided to see if I could finish that up as well. Why? Why does my brain get obsessive-compulsive with acquiring all the doo-dads in a game?

Looking at a FAQ, 7 came from going through the Chapter 6 Sammer Kingdom which I really wasn’t interested in doing after all the Pit of 100 Trails playing. Yet doing that would also check off another task for really completing this game. Plus, I did have some good healing items for the treasure map rewards. After going through 100 rooms and immediately breathing Bowser Fire on the opponent, I got that repetitious task done in about 50 – 60 minutes. That Sammer Kingdom experience is probably the best encapsulation of this whole game. There was one moment that made me sit up and take notice though. That’s when I ran into an opponent saying this:



I recognized that immediately as the text in Vudu’s signature. The Sammer opponent proceeded to run through all the text of Vudu’s signature. I never knew where Vudu’s signature came from before. Guess I could have done a Google search on but I was never that curious about it to do that. I kind of thought it came from the forums or Funhouse since the 06 – 07 early HD years were mocked a bit for all the games with a brown hue as though it made them serious, dark or next-gen. So, it was a neat little find for me to learn that came from NoA localization and this game.
After that, I kept buying a bunch of blind cards and checked in with another card shop for specific character cards. Got down to 12. One of them came from getting 100 shop points and I only had 45. Made 55 more purchases to get that. Captured 8 others. Then I kept going back and forth between the card shop and another area so that the named cards available for selling would change. 40 – 50 minutes later, I finally collected those last cards. With that, I ejected the game in the trash and that was that.

Can’t believe I ended up doing that after all but I’d gotten that far, it just seemed like I might as well finish off that task. When JusDBerube finally gets over complaining about Korok seeds, let’s see him accomplish this and see which is worse.

Aw nuts! I was hoping it would be on the NPD. I wanted to see next-gen games losing to an NES game in sales! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
