1280x720 is 720p
1920x1080 is 1080p

1080i is just simulated in 720p and is worse. The monitor your using is probably 1280x1024.

How to keep a computer running nice in 2 steps:

1. Don't use Internet Explorer. (Use Chrome, FireFox, Opera, or something else.)
2. Use your best judgement about what you download, don't download a ".exe" unless your sure of what it is and where it comes from.

Advanced suggestions:
1. Learn to use msconfig + google. (msnconfig can be used by pressing start -> run -> msconfig. Under the Startup tab, carefully manage what is starting up with your machine. You can google process your not sure about.
2. Learn to manual eliminate threats. Computer running weird / slow? Look for a weird process running in Task Manager, google the name of the ".exe".  That will tell you if it is a safe exe. If it is dangerous, if simply kill the process and delete the .exe wherever you find it. If you can't kill or delete it, reboot in safemode and delete the bitch.  Also look into turning of shitty slow services if your really in need of speed. (You shouldn't be)

I run a Windows machine with and without a virus scanner. I do not need to constantly reinstall windows or "run scans" or any of that bull ****. All I do is the above.

I don't think they make HD screens at that size. It'd be pretty pointless, since, like I mentioned a few posts ago, I can't see individual pixels on my iPhone 4's screen, which isn't technically HD, and once you get to that point higher resolution doesn't matter anymore.

It'd be sweet if the 3ds had a projector, then 720p would be cool.

So I can get a version of the game that doesn't require a disc and has online play, plus a full NBA sim, for $10 more than the Wii version. That'd better be a damn good extra mode, and the best motion controls we've ever seen.

Nope. Just pre-order on the other consoles now.

What? Viruses don't just activate or run themselves.
Depending on your windows version and autoplay settings they most certainly can.

You can't autoplay a hard drive you plugged into with SATA/IDE.

So I should plug it into the other computer that bluescreened earlier today?
take what I want to keep and then wipe it and install Win7?

Oh man, your computers just **** on you don't they? What the hell browser are you using that you have all these problems? Also note that a lot of the time Blue screens are caused back bad hardware, not just software and viruses.

As far as what you should do, just listen to BlackCat, if autorun off a sata/ide harddrive is some how possible like he is sure of, just do it the safest way possible.

Norton is still saying that there is no virus protection though. If it wasn't free I wouldn't use it.

Try out other free virus programs, many of them are much less irritating then Norton. Seems most people use AVG these days.

And trust me, you don't need 720p on a 3ds screen.

What? Viruses don't just activate or run themselves. At some point you have to tell the code to run. Just plug that bitch into another computer and scan it or grab your data. Then I would wipe that thing.

Sony HAD to cut price, they were losing hundreds of dollars on every single PS3 sold. Cutting out the PS2 chip saved less than $5, but every dollar help Sony move to making a profit. I don't think Nintendo would be stupid enough to not make the Wii 2 backwards compatible, it would save them almost no money and it would just piss off the 75 million+ Wii owners and discourage casual gamers from getting the Wii 2. I have zero doubt that the Wii 2 will play Wii games, the only real question is whether or not it will play GameCube games.

What? You would have no insight to the cost or the change in size of including Wii backwards compatibility.

The friggin' PS3 is massive, you would never know in its case. I realize it was only a single, likely inexpensive chip (research shows $30), but the Wii will likely be a different story.

Less than $30, about $27 from what I checked out. It is even less for other systems that have offered BC. Why do you think Wii BC would be different? There is nothing to indicate it would be cost prohibitive. In fact, I would bet anything that it would cost almost nothing for Nintendo and I think it would be the biggest gaming shock of the year if the Wii 2 isn't BC with Wii.

Because we're going to have all new GPU architecture this time around (No TEV unit, shaders this time). I would also guess we won't be using a PowerPC processor and hopefully something multi core, but thats the only one I would still call a guess. So your backwards compatibility would have to take in account those two things, as well as size. And of course all the ports for gamecube crap.  GameCube support just sounds beyond unlikely.

Also, I got the $30 from 3 words after you got the $27 from the same page. Give me a break.

PS2 Backward compatibility was dropped because of cost after like what, a year?

Also, if Nintendo wants that small form factor, I don't think its likely they'll want to throw all that GC stuff back in there. Lastly, I think the Wii 2 hardware again will be very different from Wii. So say what you want, but I have doubts about even Wii backward compatibility.

163
Would it be better for the wii 2 to emulate the gamecube on a virtual console, or to keep backwards compatibility similar to what the wii already has right now?

Always backward compatibility. But I think the Wii 2 will use mostly new hardware this time, so it would not be feasible anymore unless they want to include hardware they don't need. But I can almost be Nintendo isn't worried about the GameCube anymore anyway.

Emulation isn't an easy option.

It is the highest, gladiator is all about attack and thats it. He can't carry a shield and he won't learn any spells, he only has abilities.

165
I wouldn't by an XL, it'll ruin your 3DS experience because the screens will be tiny :P

166
I'd really like to know how you could argue that 64 has a better battle mode than DS.

BLOCK FORT

Block Fort is in Mario Kart DS too.

lol I forgot. Well I would suspect that battle mode is a better *experience* on N64 cause your all battling next to each other :P. But then also because I prefer how the green shells and the red shells felt in the N64 game over all others.

If Wii games can't compete on equal terms with PS3/360 games then Nintendo needs to take this as a hint that its time to seriously start considering a beefed up Wii 2 that can be graphically and computingly competitve.

If the 3DS is any indication, then the Wii 2 will have a shader model. That will single handedly fix most of our 3rd party graphics issues.

BLOCK FORT

DS has the worst track, Yoshi Falls.

I personally always thought Baby Park from Double Dash was the worst, or perhaps Moo Moo Farm from Mario 64.  Sure, Yoshi Falls is by far the worst Yoshi track, but even that track isn't as boring at those two are.

Moo Moo Farm is an excellent track. Its one of my favorites from the N64 days. And Baby Park is only good for its craziness, but its a  lot of good.

Less clunky feel. I feel like I'm controlling a giant stone statue who's arms move on swivels.

I refuse to return to the days when we had to blow into a cartridge to get it to work.

I'd rather blow into my cartridges for 20 years then have my consoles break after 5.

heheh im with you on that kytim, i was mentioning that a while ago. Dino Crisis could be done so well now. Its Resident Evil with Dinosaurs...i mean yeah Resident Evil with Dinosaurs

One major problem with Dino Crisis in thats name is Dino Crisis. That name is terrible.

175
In order for the wii 2 to be successful it must have established third party series that remain loyal to the brand. Red Steel, No More Heroes, Madworld, The Conduit and many others to remain on the system and give it a sense of identity.

lol no. Nintendo just made insane bank this gen not doing that. Throwing a bunch of hardcore titles into a blue ocean is gonna dry that bitch up.
